    Evening all :hello:

(((((scuzz))))) - get some rest, reassess your life, job and boyfriend and you'll come back rejuvenated.

(((((Penny Pincher))))) - you take lots of care. Like grannybroon said, you are definitely not heartless, far from it.

Well, things are looking up slightly here......... Having received the notice to vacate this house last Saturday, tonight we found a house to move into!!! :j :j What's even better is that it's on the same road, with a similar layout. We're moving from 58 to 102........ our postcode will stay the same and hopefully I'll be able to move the 'phone number too!! My friends were complaining that every time we move, they have to cross the whole address out and start again. Not this time, we're being quite considerate!

Our letter is written to our current landlord, to serve counter notice to leave our current property by the end of July. All I need to do now is lift my bottom off the sofa and go and print it out upstairs! :)

We had a lovely weekend, other than the receiving notice on the house. A couple of my friends have just finished renovating a house in Essex, so I invited us over for supper on Saturday night. They've done it up beautifully, not that I had any doubt that it would be anything but. They've also got a wonderful Aga...... I want one now! DH pointed out that we'd also need a house of our own. What a party pooper! :D

On Sunday, we weren't going to stay with them for very long. However, because it was raining, they couldn't attack their "garden" (ie weeds) so we all went to Bluewater. I've never been before and I thought that it was great! I see what you mean PP! The only free stuff that they were handing out were mini (handbag sized) Nivea deodrants. Got one, obviously. :D:D

Anyway, I'd better get on. I've got to make sarnies for tomorrow, write a thank you letter for the friends that we stayed with and print out this letter.

Supper tonight was our favourite "Tuscan Bean Soup".... mmmm.....

I have realised you have problems with your DH's family - not nice. I still real with shock as what came out of the woodwork when our DD got married and people taking offence because it was such a close family day thing. Glad you did it too, going off to Gretna!! Were any of your family there - Mum, Dad brothers etc? The only female cousin not being bridesmaid was such a big thing with our wedding - and the fact we didn't ask cousins to evening reception (for goodness sake, they didn't even have a relationship!!!) They hardly could connect - there is only 4 years between DD and my niece but you don't ask someone to be bridesmaid for family reasons - you ask because you are close. DD and SIL wanted their friends there to celebrate!

Your Mum is fantastic. She has had her ups and downs too and she must worry so much about you all.

    Anyway, take care.

Lots of love and hope the boys are OK tonight.

Penny-pincher..........I had similar issues with my mother, in a different way, what ever I did was not good enough, nor were my children good enough, she was always praising friends children, her grand children were ignored.

When she was ill it was never her friends who raced 30 miles in the middle of the night to get to her, calm her down and put their families lives on hold whilst the prima dona kept me on my damn toes..................

When I finally called time on both her and my marriage..she could not understand why!!!!!!!!!! I was not about to tell her, I was living in Scotland....my now ex husband wrote to me,' if you don't come home your mother is going to change her will!!' so what let her its of no interest to me, I never did want her money, just some indication that I had done something to make her proud of me and my family. What really hurt me was that when she died none of my chidlren were left anything!!!!!!!!!she left all her money to the cats protection league, SHE HATED CATS!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was so angry for them.........not for myself...............

She was a very controlling person, always interfering, driving wedges between people and manipulating them to do what she wanted, damn what they wanted.......................and you found yourself doing what she wanted for the sake of peace..........I wont go on but I know just how you feel. I hated feeling resentment towards her, but really that was all that was generated..........

I have never made that mistake with my chidlren, I do not interfere, if they ask my opinion or advice, I give it, if they choose not to take it thats fine. I have been lucky that so far I have not needed any help, one of the reasons we have moved into sheltered accomodation is so that we have help at hand if we need it, without having to call on our children who are like most youngsters are very busy, they keep in touch by email and phone and if we do want help for anything they give it willingly. We keep them up to speed with what we are doing, and they tell us when they are going to be away etc and what is going on within the family............I am very proud of all my children and grandchildren and they know it.............................

    Good evening!

    Pooky Happy Birthday!
    Scuzz Take it easy!

Yes lots of rain here today too. After walking the girls to school I had to change my jeans as I was so wet and it continued all day until about 5pm.

I've had a busy shopping day getting tons of stuff from Home Bargains, Aldi and Asda, so for the rest of the month I'll just need to get fruit, veg, cheese, yoghurts and bread. I made a huge pan of sausage chilli for tea followed by strawberries.
Tomorrow I need to blitz the housework and then finish off my schoolwork.
    Have a good evening.

Evening all, greetings from very wet and windy Holland...hope that the terrible weather has not caused any injury to anyone...possessions are just that and can be replaced.

Scuzz please take careof yourself...stress is very debilitating...I have not worked since last July due to work situation and have now retired on health grounds, which is ok at 62, but nip the problem in the bud now, rest for a week at least before you try to sort anything, you will only become more stressed if you dont give your body some chance to recover. As your stress eases, it will be easier for you to make logical, clear decisions...I'll be thinking of you, just remember that none of this is your fault, your only responsibility is to you.

    Happy birthday Pooky.

Surely you are pleased to see the rain, AussieLass, Queensland has been dying of thirst, has it not??

    Hugs to all in need.

I think you have summed up things better than I did! Sounds very familiar to me!

No, I don't want my mother's money - by the way she has been obsessed with house moves and alterations. When my died died (bear in mind he left her with property which would now command £1m plus (Then 25 years or so ago!!) - she is down to a cottage after many house moves and unnecessary alterations which wouldn't realise £100,00 because the alterations she has made has almost makes it rather unasaleable! She has this thing about putting in extra windows, making rooms smaller to add alcoves, extra smaller rooms etc etc - nightmare and total folly. Does she not realise that folk would rather larger open space. The original cottage before all this was fantastic space wise but not now. Our kids have had help to buy their houses from us - they know they will inherit when we snuff it but by that time hopefully they won't need it. They do know their Dad and I will spend as we see fit during our lifetime - we have worked blooming hard and invested for it - we are rather fortunate. I would rather leave house, say to kids and money to grandchildren (not too much)/charity. And no, I would never be blackmailed by the cutting out of the will. DH and I can get by without that one being brought into play! My dear MIL is the opposite. Pennypinched for most of her married yesrs, has taken out funeral plan (totally unnecessary) but it absolutely wonderful - 87 - and still playing bowls and is never in. Either at Legion having a few brandies or out doing what she wants to do. I call her Mum too, love her to bits, a spade a spade with her and slightly annoying at times because of old age foibles. But not the same vibes I get with my Mum. I just say to DH your Mum is lovely but.... - we totally agree and it is nothing to get worked up about!

    Love
