I don't really know what to do about it as I'm just too nice ;)

Yes I agree, but maybe put a standing charge per night on the settee?? and refuse entry if not paid!

Maybe I'm just not too nice:o , but I feel everyone is as helpless as they are allowed to be (I'm very good at being helpless at what I dislike doing! and really I am capable of anything. My Mum once said, she can do anything she WANTS to do:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: ) I think she knew me too well :T

Anyway, my os was that I got a breadmaker from freecycle (no costs, and I got it on the bus) but tried it last night and it was flat, and heavy :( and totally disgusting, not very money saving, but going to have another go as I realised that I read the instructions wrong and put table spoons in rather than tea spoons

    louise

Hi Louise - thanks for making me have a good loud laugh! :rotfl:

Well I've just been for a walk around our small town and discovered that down Castle Street the water flooded so high that some houses have been flooded 1m up inside, cars have been washed into each other, and warehouses outside of the town have also been flooded. Talked with some german guests who were renting a house for a week and they don't know if the car will dry out and what of their possessions it's worth taking home. She's an artist and all the watercolours she's done this week are just a bit too full of water now. The fire engines have been out pumping houses dry since 6:45am and the paramedics had to take the solicitor out on a float (she fell and her shoulder is injured).

So not fun for some people. This sort of flooding is usually more prevalent in the vale of evesham a little way away, or around tewkesbury, not where we are. Here's hoping for these people that it doesn't rain again today.

Now going to check my cellar and count my blessings. Anyone seen a black cat? My feral girlcat hasn't shown up for food since Saturday.

Glad that you have at least two weeks to take care of yourself.

BF is not a boy"friend" - an enemy would show more concern for you.

Might be worth seeing an advisor of some sort as I think "work" has stressed you to such an extent that you are ill and you should be due some sort of compensation or redress.

Estate agents are putting our house on their website this afternoon and i am telling myself that we are in not hurry to sell - which is actually true.

Pouring with rain and waiting for DHto get back so he can drive us to the "White rose centre" to look for a dress for DD's leaver's ball!

Hi all. The weather sounds dreadful in some areas and now they've forecast gale force winds. I know our weather is dodgy at the best of times but I've never known it like this. It surely can't go on for much longer.
LOUISE (can't remember the rest of your name, sorry!) Welcome! DANNAHAZ is our Bread Queen and, with her advice, encouragement and recipes, has turned me into a competent breadmaker - so much so that my DH doesn't ever want to eat shop-bought 'cardboard' ever again! Also, look on the indexed collections for BM recipes - very inspiring.
SCUZZ - I'm so glad you've been to the doctor and s*d w**k - your health is the top priority right now.
I popped out to do a bit of shopping; I was only out about 45 mins and my jeans were soaked through by the time I got home. Driving through puddles with the windscreen wipers going at about 200 wipes an hour, was somewhat exciting!
Called in to the local charity shop (first time in four weeks - they don't have them in France!) and bought some candle jewellery, six books (just can't resist them!), a complete knitting loom and cross-stitch kit for my DGD and a huge box of buttons - £4.65 the lot! Had to carry it back to the car before I could get the rest of my shopping. I usually get my fruit and veg in the local farm shop but I had to nip into Sainsbury's for some bits and they had loads of fruit going for half price; I bought a big punnet of strawberries, some blueberries, some cherries and loads of rhubarb so lovely puddings and pies are on the agenda this week!
Well, I must go and put the dreaded ironing board up or we'll be going round naked and it's too cold for that!

Will drop in again later and hope everyone is coping with the rain.

Scuzz........so glad the Dr has signed you off, two weeks is better than nothing.............if you are still not right at the end of the two weeks, go back and get signed off again................it will give you time to get rid of the BF and think about what you want to do workwise.............and then give your job the bums rush as well, if you carry on you are going to be on long term sickness...........look into some compensation for the unjustified work load and if they sack you whilst you are on the sick.....go for unfair dismissal.......while you are off on sick leave do a diary of what has happened to you over the past since they started taking advantage of you, and also keep a record of what is said in telephone calls...........

In the mean time look after yourself and keep in touch if you can, will be thinking of you.

Well the chaps came early for the dresser, moved the settee for me and dismantled the dressser, carried it out, and then put the settee back against the wall, cannot believe the room we have now........OH says he feels lonely, I am sitting so far away from him now....................have put the new shelf unit behind the settee until we can get it up on the wall.......need to decide exactly where it is going...........

Its raining again and we have had a clap of thunder......very black over Bill's Mother's..........

Cold chicken, salad and new spuds tonight, we have enough crumble left to do 2 nights, we had fresh strawberries at lunch time...........we still have some in the frdige and also more at the allotment.

We went to Tesco to get meat on the way back from the charity shop, bought 4 pork chops, 4 slices of pigs liver, 12 links of pork sausage, a gammon joint and a shoulder of lamb, that should keep us going with whats in the freezer for this month. The car is still half full of desiel so may not take the normal £20 this month, so may be a bit more for the holiday fund..............

OH has just made a cuppa, so I am off......................
    Was 13st 8 lbs,Now 12st 11 Lost 10 1/4lbs since I started on my diet.

    Afternoon all

It just started to rain here - and boy did it come down!

Have been spoilt rotton for my birthday today, got a new kipling bag, choccies, new hair dryer, couple of nice ornaments and some money :D

Had planned to go out for a meal this evening but DD2 is so listless and poorly that she won't make it - we'll revise that plan later.

DH has the day off and we were going to Chessington, the weather and poorly one have put pay to that so I think an afternoon infront of the TV with my sewing will do nicely.

Hope you all have a great day - despite the weather.

Mioliere - We're off to the Normandy area. Neither me or DH have ever been so we're really looking forward to it. Aparently we are staying in this tiny little village so hopefully it will give us plenty of time to relax :D
