Hi, this is the Daily Thread for Today. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything OS and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an OS natter. The more the merrier!
When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem, we’re a laid back bunch here so you won’t hear any complaints. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.
Morning.
Surprised I am first today.
Busy day me thinks. Thr fridge did pack up in the end, it rallied yesterday for a bit, but now it's warm aagin. I think it's a cheap fix, but I am soooooooo tempted to buy a new one. A lot bigger one!
School Governors meeting this morning. We are interviewing for a new head teacher, followed by a meal. £78k a year, can't be a bad job!
Work this afternoon, and won't finish till 10pm or so. Ships in the night at our house this week.
Somewhere in there I have to sort out the fridge and my car insurance... all money today.

Hi N9EAVE and CATOWWEN and all who follow. Didn’t get a chance to come on here yesterday; seemed to have visitors all day!
Who else got the rain ALL day? Wasn’t it awful – I don’t think it stopped at all. I did brave a trip to the bottle bank and got pretty soaked for my efforts! The forecast is not very good for the next week, either.
Lots of housework to do today and, because I didn’t sleep well last night, it’s going to take me ages to get through it! DH is back at work today so I suppose that will help things get back to normal after being away.
Yesterday, I lost yet another blackbird fledgling – last week a pair of crows took one baby and yesterday a small bird of prey, a sparrowhawk or something, took another – I heard a commotion in the garden and, when I looked out of the window, the hawk was being dive-bombed by two frantic blackbirds but, again, it was too late to do anything about it.
CATOWEN - you must have missed my post on Saturday; I said that my WM developed a smell last year and my local domestic repair shop gave me a sachet of something which he called 'salts' which cleared it completely; if you look in your local Yellow Pages you should find a domestic repair shop in your area who should be able to suppy it. The smell was driving me mad and I was so pleased to find something that worked. Good luck!
Anyway, must go now and have a shower! Will drop in later.

Good Morning all
Nothing much to report here, WM is on as is DW, I'll get something out the freezer for tea in a sec.
It was sunny this morning at 5:30 as I drove hubby to work, but it's clouded over now hope no one here is affected by the really bad weather due elsewhere.
I tried to upload some pics to Ebay last night, but I couldn't get them to work, I'll try again tonight. I'm going to try to make some money on there to compensate for loosing one of my jobs.
Hope everyone has a good day
Hugs Hester

Hi Everyone
Not good news from me. Had an ambulance out to me on Friday night as I was having bad chest pains. Called NHS Direct, but they sent the paramedics
Had an ECG, blood pressure test, oxygen levels monitored and pulse rate. They think I'm suffereing from stress, exhaustion and maybe an infection. Had to promise to see my GP today, as I refused to go to hospital. So will call the surgery as soon as it opens to get an appointment for later on. So if I'm not around for a bit, it's where I've been signed off.
Didn't do much all weekend, as I was under strict instructions to rest. Shock horror, bf hasn't seen me since I've become ill. Two weeks have gone by now - apparently he's too busy with friends to see me. Nice to know where I standComping, Clicking & Saving for Change0 -
Morning all!
Scuzz (((((((((((((HUGS)))))))))))) you take it easy, and get down the docs!
Work today. DS is sound asleep, now he's finished school he's being extra lazy:rotfl: Couldn't do a thing yesterday, had such a hard week laast week, ruching about all over the place, that it caught up with me. Spent the day watching TV and sleeping! Better today tho.
Prom on Thurs, don't know who's more excited, me or DS!:rotfl: Must take loads of photos.
Got to get a dye for my wedding dress today. We are going to an Edwardian picnic on Sunday, and the old dress was in Edwardian style. YES I can still get into it, even if I have to breathe in:T Going to dye it light blue with a dark blue sash.
Have a great day all:beer:I Believe in saving money!!!:T

Morning everyone
Oh Scuzz, you must feel awful, and your bf is really showing his true colours. I jsut hope you feel strong enough to tell him what you think, soon. There must be your Mr Right out there, maybe you should start looking for him when you feel better :grouphug:
Well, rain again here today, we have just booked to go away in the caravan with the dog in July, so the weather had better hurry up and improve.
Managed to get to the allotment yesterday, and pulled some potatoes - they are huge, and taste so much better than shop bought.
Well, work today, so pasta salad for lunch, and then leftover chicken in red wine sauce for tea.
Hope everyone has a good day, despite the weatherYou're only young once, but you can be immature forever0 -
Good morning all,
scuzz ((((hugs)))) please look after yourself. You sound exhausted and down. If you are signed off, please use the time to take care of YOU.
Had a great weekend with DS and DD but did almost nothing in the way of housework. Normally that wouldn't be a problem but my cousin is coming to stay with me for a few days on Thursday and I'm working every day till then. Silly me. Will rope DS and DD into doing some jobs - paid of course.
W**k today but boss is out golfing all day so there won't be the usual piles of files appearing on my desk anytime I move away from it.
DD wants a picnic-style lunch today - probably because she wants a taste of everything we bought at the Farmers' Market yesterday. There's nothing too unhealthy so I don't see a problem.
Have a marvellous Monday. xx"Bad planning on your part does not constitute an emergency on my part."

Morning fokes.
Well its pouring it down here which is a pity as kids have a sports week at school, today the local Tech is coming in to do different sporting activitys with the whole school, but inless the rain stops have a feeling it will spoil the day for them.
Infact this week is a themed week at school all about being healthy, Today is sports day, tommorow they are having a breakdancing crew in, wed they are having food tasting day, thur and fri are school tournements. Sounds fun.
Not done much this weekend, had a footy match yesterday ds3 team won 12-0 and ds3 scored 5. Did abit of gardening on sat before the rain came.
Plans for today need to pick some photos up from town, FIL coming for the dreaded weekly visit, which im not happy about as i had arranged to go to a friends for coffee late and will have to cancel.
Just read the thread of xmas which has inspired me to make shopping lists and start buying food items soon, also need to start present list have bought quite a few already including the 4 kids `big` presents but want to be more organised this year aimming to be finished by 1st Dec!!!
Have a lovely day all.
