    Morning :hello:

    ((((scuzz)))) - look after yourself.

I've had a nice weekend. Went to the opera on Saturday evening at Holland Park. Unfortunately the friend I was supposed to go with came down with a migraine at the last minute (brought on by the thunderstorm that was brewing) so I had to go by myself. Luckily for my friend, I managed to sell her ticket to somebody else, so she gets her money back. In the middle of the first act, there was a massive storm and they had to stop the performance for ten minutes - the theatre is undercover but the roof is just a canopy, a bit like the roof of a marquee, so when it's raining really hard you can't hear the music :D  Also, I was in one of the cheapest seats, right on the end of a row, which I discovered is a bit too close to the edge of the canopy for comfort  so I did get rained on a bit! Still it could have been worse... I could have been at Glastonbury :rotfl: Apparently my brother was there.

Yesterday after church I went to visit friends for Sunday lunch, then we all went to choral evensong at their local church. It's a really pretty little village church in rural Surrey. Oh yes and there's quite a nice pub down the road as well :D

At least it is payday tomorrow! I'm not normally completely skint at the end of the month, but this month I've bought my new computer... and although it went on my credit card so I don't have to pay it for a few weeks, I don't have any money left that's actually available to spend. This week I am massively busy, both at work and in the evenings. I don't know how on earth I will end the week on budget but I am sure I will manage somehow  I don't want to spend all next month's spare cash in the space of a week

Neighbour's loud music appears to be on a timer that switches it on Monday-Friday only. It didn't come on at the weekend but was on again this morning. He is definitely still away as I stuck my fingers into his letterbox and could feel that it hasn't been emptied since the day I put the note in there telling him to sort the noise out

Lunch will be HM soup (not sure what sort as it had been in the freezer for a while! but by the colour I'd say it's cream of asparagus). Need to nip to the supermarket this evening as I am out of a few staple items, namely fizzy water (which I get through a lot of, as I drink a lot of fruit cordial etc), toothpaste, limescale tablets for the WM, and fabric conditioner.

Must be off, catch you later

    Love Rzl xx

Morning all..................scuzz, sorry to hear you are not well, BUT......you have been letting work and your BF use you as a door mat, will you please get off the roundabout and shove them BOTH.............they are making you ill and neither are worth it. I'll say sorry now, but it needed to be said, you health is the most precious thing and you have been abusing yourself for so long. I hope the Doctor signs you off for at least a month!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and do not let them fob you off at reception, YOU NEED TO SEE THE DOCTOR.

Pelting down with rain here today. We must have brought the rain back. :D I had a pretty constructive day really. Got quite a bit done. Got heaps more to do of course but it's a start. My head feels a bit better, not so fuzzy today.
Will have to make this short and sweet as DD is hovering and wants to use my computer.

Scuzz Look after yourself. Give bf the boot.

Amie Sounds a awful situation. I'd worry about it too. Hope you can sleep better tonight.

Best go. Hope you're having a great day. Byeeeeeeeeee

Told work the situation and they don't seem to keen on the idea of going off with stress, but that's tough
Stress is one of those things which is hard to quantify. With you asking and being refused the holidays, they will also link that to it, and wonder if you are being crafty/awkward to get more time off with pay. They also know that once you are signed off by a doctor and they try to finish you, they are on dodgy ground. With the fact that there is too much work with you there, they will also be concerned at trying to handle it with one less for a while.

I am no saying any of this is correct, but trying to explain a "managements" viewpoint, while not being uncaring, they have to try to keep the job running.

The one thing I have found over many years, that is someone is happy with work and its tough at home, they cope, if someone is happy at home and its tough at work, they cope, if life is tough on both sides is when it usually cannot be coped with, however, it is easier to blame work for the thing which sends you over the top, then accepting it is home which is may be not allowing you to cope.

Use the two weeks to try to decide what you want to do.

    Take care

If he is "ex" and isn't considerate/pay his keep, why? Am I allowed to ask? or is it like the song "I should have changed the locks"?:confused:

a good question and one that deserves a long and complicated answer. We were friends for a long time before we got it together and apart from the blessing that is 10yodd should probably have left things that way. Exoh is a financial disaster despite earning three times as much as me and times were hard. Crunch time came when middle dd (mine but not his)- then 14 got pregnant  and he took, considering he calls himself a socialist, a pretty reactionary view and I was left with a choice between them both which I made to his cost. Even then it took 3 months for him to move out and he only did so because I moved myself. Fast forward a couple of years and he, middle dd and dgs are reconciled (they made it up while she was giving birth - probably the effects of the gas and air). Exoh having stunningly failed to make any financial progress is staying with elderly mum and dad and I offered to let him stay here a couple of nights a week as he works nearby and this would save him travel expenses. trouble is when I said nights he heard years and has been sleeping on the sofa ever since. He does pay osmetimes when I have a tantrum and if he goes shopping doesn't ask for the money but he is hopeless at anything domestic or diyish. We are pretty friendly though but incompatible in lots of ways. I kind of treat him as a lodger and 10yo dd likes having him around. I sound like a right muggins don't I but I don't really know what to do about it as I'm just too nice ;)

Hi everyone, it is my first time on this board.

scuzz its very hard to get rid of a bf, but you have to for your own sanity. I have given mine 4 weeks to shape up, or Im shipping out (his house) I don't think he realised that I am that serious, its mainly down to him being in the same situation as you at work, they offer him no support practically (he is a new teacher) and he is not happy, and he has a really bad back, which is seriously impacting on his personality and attitude towards me.

Anyway, my os was that I got a breadmaker from freecycle (no costs, and I got it on the bus) but tried it last night and it was flat, and heavy :( and totally disgusting, not very money saving, but going to have another go as I realised that I read the instructions wrong and put table spoons in rather than tea spoons

so that is my aim for whan I get home tonight!.

  • Morning all! Haven't been able to get online AGAIN this week , our net connection seems a bit dodgy, coupled with the fact that now DS20 is home my time seems even more limited.

Anyway today is OH's birthday although he's got to fly off to Glasgow later on tonight so no real celebrations here yet. I bought him some new trousers and a shirt since he refuses to spend money on clothes, was worrying because I thought I'd bought the trousers too big, but sadly they fit :rotfl:too much OS baking methinks......

It's dry here at the moment but has been bucketing down all night and it's looking threatening now, I've changed our bed but will have to use the drier since I don't think I've any chance of getting them dry on the line today.

Off out in a moment to drop off some dresses at the bridal shop I work for and then out for coffee with a friend later. Dinner will be a pie from some turkey steaks I found lurking in the freezer, I guess it will be just DS and me but who knows these days, I seem to be running some sort of cafe

Hugs to Scuzz, you MUST put yourself and your health first.

Aussie, no you left plenty of rain behind :rotfl:

Welcome to louise, yes have another try with the bm, I wouldn't be without mine now, it's all a matter of experimenting at the beginning to get it right.

Catowen - I had a stinky kitchen once and eventually tracked it down to the waste pipe in the fridge being blocked, somehow that little hole in the bottom of the fridge must have got full of yuck (can't think how!!:o ) and it backed up all the way out of the fridge and up the pipe at the back. The smell was horrible :o:o but once I cleaned it out with a l-o-n-g wooden kebab stick, things improved. Just a thought.

Right must dash before it rains, don't want to get the dresses wet.

have a fun day everyone. try and stay dry!!

    Mrs F xx
