(((((Scuzz))))) please look after yourself. And ditch the uncaring thing you call a BF. He hasn't earnt that title and you deserve better.
Rained here all yest and last night. OH drove off to work at 5 and had to take an alternate route due to flooding. He said the water was coming up out of the manholes in the road at the back too, so here's hoping our cellar isn't flooded because we didn't buy a replacement dehumidifier yet! Need to visit lottie but track to it will be underwater. Haven't seen semi-feral cat at all yesterday due to rain so hope she's not starving.
Didn't paint bathroom yesterday, will do that today instead. Did make lovely dinner by accident - no idea what went into the sauce so no chance of repeating it. And did HM ice-cream - yum. How to keep OH happy :rotfl: But did 5 loads of pot-washing and there are only 2 of us!
Terrorist being CalmKitty today. He woke up at the same time as OH so got taken down for breakfast aand I got a comfort-suckle-free lie-inNow off to get ahead on the day - hopefully. Have a good one folks!

Catowen -did you move the kickboards in the kitchen? My bet is a dead mouse behind there, or even if it could squeeze in a hole by a pipe somewhere in the wall - sorry. I know we squooshed one under a footstool by accident (didn't know the cat had brought it in) and it stank so badly.0

morning - pouring down here, just off to drop DS1 at the dentist then got coffee with a friend before taking DS1 to another job interview - fingers crossed for him!
scuzz- look after yourself xxx
last day off today of my week off so hope to have a good rest before going back to work!
have a lovely day
take care xxDo what you love :happyhear0 -
exoh came "home" from glastonbury some time in the night - must have forgotten that he doesn't live here. He has rather optimistically put some muddy stuff in the washing bakset and also trudged wet muddy boots through the house before leaving them outside the back door - why - the damage was done by then.
If he is "ex" and isn't considerate/pay his keep, why? Am I allowed to ask? or is it like the song "I should have changed the locks"?Member #8 of the SKI-ers Club
Why is it I have less time now I am retired then when I worked?0 -
Hi again.
MRSMIX – I hope you feel better soon.
AMIE – that situation sounds like a real nightmare, doesn’t it? I hope things work out.
SCUZZ – poor you. My DH had chest pains a few years ago and was told it was pericarditis - inflammation of the lining of the heart, which is not serious but can be brought on by stress. He is normally very laid-back but his business was going through a bad time and that is what caused it. You MUST take care of yourself, not just health-wise but relationship-wise as well; there ARE some great men out there and you deserve one of them!
DLB – I must confess (and people think I’m mad) but I have quite a lot of Christmas organised already! I hate shopping in big shopping centres when it’s busy so I do all I can to avoid it but the main reason is that I see bargains that would make perfect presents throughout the year so I just buy them when I find them. I also try and make a lot of pressies – mainly knitted toys, etc., for the many children in the family. I buy all my wrapping paper, cards and other bits and pieces in the sales and make personal cards for immediate family. The best thing of all – apart from giving the pressies! – is that, when everyone is rushing round just before Christmas, desperate for ideas and maxing out on their credit cards, I can be found smugly relaxing at home having saved money, time and energy!
TINKERBELLUK – where in France are you going?
CATOWEN – is your machine near a flue or an air-vent that may be blocked with a dead bird or mouse or something? Or maybe, horrible thought, I know, but maybe a mouse or something has found its way into the panelling at the back of the machine or underneath it. That would cause a smell. I’m going to try really hard to come up with other ideas because I know just how maddening it is not to be able to identify a bad smell! PLEASE DON’T try lifting the machine yourself, though!
Well, it has stopped raining for now but I know that won’t last! I feel so sorry for anyone who has been affected by the bad weather. I’m not going to moan about it because we’re lucky that we don’t get floods here.
DH has gone back to work so I’m going to get stuck in to some work today. I shall have to resist the urge to stay on here – I really missed it when I was away and would love to spend all day mooching around all the threads. Still, I’m going to work really hard this week and see if I can treat myself to a whole morning!
Must go now – need to make a start on all the jobs that have nagged me all weekend!
See you all later!
KathyXX
AMIE – I’d like to say that I hope it doesn’t rain for your trip to Portsmouth but that’s too much to hope for! I’ll just say I hope you don’t get too wet!KNIT YOUR SQUARE TOTALS:

The smell is like spilt milk thats gone off, so i was hoping it would be the pipes or drain, but after all the 'flushing out' ive done (OS and chemical) its still there - the only thing i can think of now is that it could be the drains still - maybe something stuck there, but the type of smell it is, im not sure!!!0

N9eav I know its not right, but a new frdige will probably be cheaper/better investment than trying to get your old one repaired, especially if you are looking for something bigger anyway. Be proud of yourself that you at least waited until the old one broke before you got a new one!
<<Scuzz>> Don't think I can add anything to what the others have said. It's tough when you love someone, but unless that love is returned you're only ever going to get scraps. You deserve more than that.
Well, yesterday at lunchtime the BBC forecast 36 hours of torrential rain. We certainly got it yesterday, but this morning we woke up to sunshine. By the time I got up, it was overcast, and now it can't make up its mind.
Was having a lovely lie in this morning, but a parcel arrived just after 8am. Having been crudely dragged out of a pleasant slumber, I thought I might as well get up.
I need to swish and swipe the kitchen today, and do a whirlwind tidy elsewhere. Ocado is due between 9 and 10. I can't believe its been a month since my last delivery, and tbh I only ordered now because they sent me a £10 off voucher. I could probably have lasted another week or two otherwise.
Not sure what else, depends on the weather.
Have a good day everyone xxxx Hazel0 -
Thanks everyone
Brief update - seeing doctor at 10.15am. Told work the situation and they don't seem to keen on the idea of going off with stress, but that's toughComping, Clicking & Saving for Change0 -
Cat have a look at the cupboards either side of the dishwasher, especiually the door edges that are adjacnet to the DW. In our house, sometimes stuff gets splashed off crockery as we load the DW, and it bounces from the dw onto the units IYSWIM.
If its a sickly sweet smell then it might well be a rotting corpse. The good news is that if its got to that stage, and it is a mouse of something, it won't be long before it stops of its own accord.0 -
morning all
