Stop Smoking 2014 Diary

Hi everyone had a really crap week and have just smoked my way through it. Not as much as I was previously smoking nor did I really enjoy them. Done lots of overtime with my second job this week too.
Anyway as from tomorrow I am stopping again. I was thinking of getting one of the vapour things its not like an e-cig but its still something you put to your mouth, I am thinking this is my downfall. I tried e-cig before and it just burned the back of my throat. Similar to what I was experiencing there having stopped for days at a time then having the odd one.
Having the odd cigarette also gave me a sore head in the middle like it was stuffing my sinuses. Then people asking if I had the cold. It was so good when I stopped not feeling my throat was clogged up.
I was really pleased with the amount of money I saved since trying to stop it made such a difference and I felt my skin was fresher and healthier looking.
Hi Nujon welcome on board, I tried the e-cig and didn't like it although my friend and Dad use them and think they are great.
Shinner, Elizabeth and Mat glad to hear you are all doing so well.
Laura good to see you managed to stop again keep going.
Sax 11 how are you getting on?
Keep going everyone and good luck

Don't worry Debs that's the past just got to look at the future now! I'm forgetting the amount I have smoked up to three days ago and just starting a fresh!!!
The vapour ones are meant to be good? I tried them before but didn't have my heart set on quitting then so continued to smoke at the same time!Total debt to pay: £14,071.41/ Remaining debt: £12,884.12: Amount Paid: £1,187.29

My smoking nurse told me it takes 8 weeks for your nicotine recepters to go into a coma and end cravings. No wonder it's so hard. I suppose using nicotine replacements keep them alive but loads better than the real thing. I do think support groups would be helpful, bit like slimming clubs. 33 days for me so just over half way to beating the nicotine monster. Have a good weekend.yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, today is a gift thats why its called the present0

June.Elizabeth & mat you are doing really well also. I am struggling on an evening also not drinking alcohol as I am scared I will cave. A glass of wine is my maximum.
Laura well done for getting back on the wagon.
Debbie I am on about my 500th attempt at stopping. Other half vaping I think it prolongs the habit of hand to mouth but he finds it helps.sealed pot challenge 099

Thank you everyone for the encouragement and advice it is much appreciated.
I am thinking of trying something else rather than the patches as I think it is more the habit than the nicotine

Really wanted a cigarette last night, OH said would go to the shop if I gave him money. I told him I had no money so that was the end, although I do think if he had gone I would of had one.sealed pot challenge 099

Sax has taken me years of stopping and starting sometimes our heads just aren't in it. I have downloaded a sample of allen carr and think I will buy the book to try help stay on task. Don't give in giving in set yourself another date and try again.
I have nearly completed 33 days. It has been hard work but I am getting there, was in the shop yesterday and bought a bottle of wine and so nearly asked for 10 cigarettes.sealed pot challenge 099

Sax sorry you are feeling down. I believe that you have to really really want to stop smoking and it takes some people a bit longer to get there. It has to be a decision for yourself. I think it is working for me this time because I really don't want to be a smoker anymore. I have told myself I am not giving anything up I just don't smoke anymore and use distraction when I think about having one. You will do it when the time is right for you.yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, today is a gift thats why its called the present0
