Tonight is my first major test since NYD. I am going clubbing in London for a mates birthday. Lots of drink will be involved and loud music, sweaty people so will need to go outside for fresh air every now and then. Hope to stay away from the evil fags. Hopefully the smell from everyone else will put me off.

Will power at it's weakest when drinking !!
  • You can do it. I've just done two years on 23rd January. It gets easier.

If I had to go back I would definitely drink more water, it stops you eating :D

    Good luck x

  • I am doing ok too same problem with eating have put on about 6 lbs and I can't afford to as I am only 4.11 and every oz shows. I will deal with the diet as soon as I am totally sure I am a non smoker but I do feel quietly confidant

    Hi All.

Thanks to SUE-UU's original thread I was able to stay non smoking since Sept 2011.

Whoopppeee!!. Went to Doc a couple of weeks ago and I am now on Spiriva and diagnosed with Emphysema.

Now aged just 62 I have no idea if I will even get just SOME of my money back from this Government (Pension).

    Just thought I'd mention. :)

Women and cats will do as they please, and men and dogs should relax and get used to the idea.
  • Huge congrats to the people who have kicked it!
I'm still really struggling as I'm very stressed...about money, ironically...! It's so daft to continue smoking in my circumstances but I get stressed then want a cigarette :(
  • That cigarette does not help the stress though does it.

Day 49 for me and it does get easier even though I still would like one the urge doesn't last long. As an over 20 a day smoker I have saved £516.00 so far and it's still in my bank waiting until I buy some Euros for a trip to Ireland in May.

I survived my Friday night antics. Got completely smashed but didn't even think about smoking. I got home 2pm on Saturday and felt rough but not as rough as if I had smoked 20 fags.
  • Well done you. Good feeling isn't it

I stopped 2nd January after the smoking ban came in (can't quite remember which year that was now). I was on 30 cigs a day & gave up using the inhalator. Ashamed to say, I'm still on it. I still crave a real cig every now & again but would never, ever do it. Keep up the good work. It is hard but well worth it.

Looking back, I wonder how I afforded to smoke in the first place.
