Signature updated to include a spend of £5.72 on salad and veg from A1di this morning.
Going to have a bit of salad with my gammon baguette at lunch (with hm potato and leek soup), and then some more with enchilladas for tea (but doubt OH or DS1 will want any salad).
Veg with lamb leg steaks tomorrow for the 3 of us, then some of the remaining veg with something for DS1 and myself on Monday. What veg I have left will probably determine what I pull from the freezer for the two of us on Tuesday. Then I'm catering for just myself on Wed, Thur & Fri (DS1 eating at work), so will use up any remaining veg - and if nothing left will pull something from the freezer to have with salad or a stew/casserole (sure I've got some in there) which already have the veg in them or something I can do with frozen peas and sweetcorn (and diced carrots as I doubt I'll have go through all those).
So fingers crossed the only thing I should need before next weekend is milk for DS1. Bread for toast / sandwiches is still being made at home (I've a lot of flour to get through!), and I've made a loaf this morning that'll probably last me until next Friday/Saturday.Cheryl0 -
I know it all comes out of the same budget in the end. I think I just started it because he was always adding 'rubbish' stuff. I just said he would have to pay at the end of month when do budgets and the first month I gave him an itemised bill off the whole month's receipts. He nearly fell through the floor :rotfl: but I think it made him realise how much money he was wasting. He's much more careful now it comes out of his own budget :j

That looks a gorgeous piece of fishcould you tell me where you bought it please
Managed to add another NSD. I did go out but avoided all the food shops and dashed round banks etc and home again.
The gammon in the S/C was great. Did it in cider, black treacle, pineapple juice, peppercorns and bay leaf. Had with HM duchess pots, HM cauli/leek cheese and peas. Will have cold with chips etc on Monday and then at cut up and freeze for basis of two more meals :J
Hope you all have a super weekend

Hugs Mrs Cautious, you seem to be having a hard time of things just now. Hopefully you'll be due some good luck now and things will start looking up for you!

I have so much food in now that it is certain to run some of it into next month. Should only need a few top up shops for lunch stuff and fruit, milk, bread etc.

Good grief! Take care of yourself...MrsCautious.
I'm still cooking from the freezer and cupboards and happy with that. Had 3 potatoes in the veg basket that, looking at how many 'eyes' they had, I would normally have put in the veggie recycle tub, but I just cut them off quite low down, and boiled them for mash. It's made me realise how quick I was to throw things away!

I've been diagnosed with diabetic kidney disease this week, really not great timing, not telling my daughters as I know this would cause a lot of stress, so my shopping this week will be totally driven by healthy eating, my budget hasn't gone out the window though, still want to be very cost conscious.
Big hugs mrsCautious. What age are you daughters? I only ask as a daughter whose mother has twice recently not told her of health scares til after the event I would want to know. I was relieved and cross with my mum all at the same time! Of course you know your daughters better than anyone and will know what's best, I'm just saying from the others possible point of view.Busymumofthreeplusdog......

Well after yesterdays way overspend discovery, when I nipped to the local town earlier to collect my underwear that I had ordered in I avoided the supermarkets and only purchased what I had gone for. Got a coffee too but that was free with my MyWaitr*** card - would recommend picking one up as if you spend over £5.00 you also get a free paper, but to get the tea/coffee you don't have to spend anything which is fab. The tea/coffee is all I really got it for as don't normally spend anything in there unless a good offer is on.
I am now starting my budget for April GC, although hoping I shouldn't have to buy anything until I do my main shop next Thursday.
Think it was on here that I saw people have done an list of what they have in the cupboards so they know, I started this morning then had quite a busy day, but going to pop off in a mo and finish listing as thought this was a fab idea, already I discovered 6 bottles of squash
Have a lovely evening everyone.Christmas is the most magical time of the year :santa2:
