    Oh dear, 10 days left in my first challenge and I'm already over budget :rotfl:

    Must really try to minimise spends now and work out what to set as the target next month. I'm still doing better than Feb (spent £435 and overall £274 above my household budgets largely due to the new baby spends), so I guess anything under that in March is an improvement. We have full cupboards and freezer but will still need fruit, bread, milk and some things for DS (lacto free). Must stop going to the shops ;)

    A bit OT but;
    Got my council tax bill through and managed to get them to change it to 12 payments. So will now have £40 extra a month :)
    I think I'll add £20 to our grocery budget as DD will soon be weaning I want us to be eating good quality veggies and meat etc.
    Will be going to lidl shortly for half price ribs and chocolate! YUM!

    I'm adding £5.19 as have just bought 2x half price Cif cleaning spray for £1.69 each at the Co-op, along with a couple of croissants for my daughters.

    I've been diagnosed with diabetic kidney disease this week, really not great timing, not telling my daughters as I know this would cause a lot of stress, so my shopping this week will be totally driven by healthy eating, my budget hasn't gone out the window though, still want to be very cost conscious.

    So far this month I have spent £23.68 and still have masses of food left over to get me through the rest of the month. I have done very well with top up shops being almost all YS items so days of food for very little.
    It's really easy to default to cynicism these days, since you are almost always certain to be right.

    We have lots in the freezer and plenty in the cupboards to see us through to pay day in 10 days time but will need wraps and lettuce. Hoping to stretch the budget through to the 28th before starting on April's.

    28th also happens to be our due date so we will soon see how good baby's timing is!

    Plan is to keep to the £80 a month as long as bf is home, his next longish trip is to America around mid May (11 days) other than which he just has quite a few shorter trips/camps with between 2 and 5 days at home in between them. My hope is to stick to £20 per week when he is home and around £5-10 when he is away as I tend to eat whatever is already in/batch cooked treats from the freezer.

    The GC is going to be even more important for us now whilst I am off with the change in household income and hit on the tax credits. I have decided to keep paying the council tax which leaves me £74 a month down from my already limited pay but as long as I can still keep up with our joint savings I don't mind not putting as much in to my personal savings whilst on leave! (Will make up for it on my return to work)

    I know that £20 per week is plenty for the pair of us so its just making sure I don't fall in to the trap of spending just because I'm near a grocery shop!
