Your dinner looks lovely Billie-jo. I haven't been near a food shop since doing my first shop for March on the 26 Feb :) so 4 NSD so far this month.
We were to have sausage toad for dinner tonight but I found 2 large red peppers in the salad drawer of the fridge which I had forgotten about so I changed it to stuffed peppers ,sausages and oven chips. Tomorrow I am working at my volunteering so as it will be a long day we will have sweet and sour chicken (sauce from a jar) with rice for dinner as it will be quick to prepare when I get home.
Mortgage and Debt free but need to increase savings pot.

    Managed another NSD today :D

It was our Wed.Ann. but as it was a week day had to eat in. (DH works long days and early starts) So had salmon (freezer) with HM dauphinoise pots and HM stir fry veg/bean sprouts followed by pancakes, with defrosted raspberries and ice-cream. Golly gosh absolutely stuffed !! He is going to take me out for a meal on Friday instead - but I did get a card, bless :kisses2:

Hope you all have a wonderful Wednesday

Last night was corned beef stew followed by a pancake with lemon and sugar.

I took a pic of my corned beef stew, I must note my dish is usually spotless, but a bit of the liquid ran and it burnt, im not this scruffy, really lol.
NSD number 4 today, this is the best start to the month i have ever had, and still not planning a big shop yet!! OH bought me some bread and wine yesterday so that saved me a spend day!

Have taken meat and potato pies out of freezer for me and OH tonight, he is home late so kids can have what they fancy after school!

Went to the 24 hour Tescos this morning as I needed some salad veg, painkillers and tinned tomatoes (absolutely none left in my store cupboard - usually have about 20!). Luckily though I had £12 of vouchers to use so once the medicines are deducted I spent only £1.32. Still, I don't think I'm going to be able to stick to the £30 for the month - still, I'll give it a good shot - I'm going to try not to shop at all for another week now.

Had to stock up this weekend at waitrose and aldi and ended up buying fillet steak piece and some lamb shoulder which was 50% off - it didn't go as far as I thought but was very tasty - kids will have the leftovers today made into a shepherds pie (DH and I may have some if there is enough!)

Bought lots of fresh berries fruit and salad which was quite expensive but needed a change from apples.

Pretty stocked up now with some meat in the freezer so should be OK for 10 days but I realise I have spent nearly half my monthly budget.

I am finding it a challenge to make meals which the whole family enjoy - maybe its just the ages by kids are (9 and 12) and they just like to whinge - they actually eat everything they are given but I find it hard when they are not as enthusiastic as me about homecooked meals made from scratch

Off to read through the posts and look for inspiration

I wouldn't worry about the kids whinging as long as they're eating it you must be doing something right:rotfl:. I know it's not very nice when others aren't enthusiastic about what you've cooked but the evidence shows that they aren't really complaining about it.

    Hello!

    NSD Monday

£1.79 on basmati rice yesterday. Always buy 1 Kg for £1.40 Tesco value but wanted to try 1 brand up. I haven't checked the back of the pack for the values in order to compare the two yet.
Thing is, after a long while buying value spaghetti and penne (for 20-29p or thereabout), I compared the cheap type with 1 or 2 brands up and the value of fibre of the value one was a third of the slightly more expensive brand!! (and other values were worse too!)

Lotti1982: That is so true! 2 weeks ago I retrieved the shopping list to give to my bf from here! I lost my little piece of paper but I had written the list on here!! :rotfl:

A NSD here today. Yesterday we had half the amount of potatoes we usually do, so have made the bag stretch to two meals (tonight's served with fishcakes and vegetables from the freezer.)

Also going to make a sponge cake to use two eggs which are going out of date.
GC: £40 a week. Sticking to my budget, but never remembering to post in the relevant thread.
Probably buying toiletries that I don't need, as I can't resist a "bargain."
