Day 5 no spends yet, determined now to go as long as I can just using up. Ideally would like to run my upright freezer right down and just keep my small chest freezer but the trouble is I keep filling it back up.
I opened a big tin of Cods Roe yesterday, this gives me six portions so ate one and put 5 into freezer, opened a tin of pilchards had 1 on toast for lunch and put 4 into freezer, made a quiche on Sunday, 3 portions into freezer, so already thats another 12 meals added, must get myself a hungry dog I think:rotfl::rotfl:Slimming World at target0 -

No money again! The car needs some work doing and we don't have any spare cash so it HAS to come out of food budget
so I now have whats left jn my purse for the whole month!? £22.
Luckily my freezer and cupboards are fullx
You have my sympathy Ladyluck! I am in a similar position - found out this morning that I owed £208 in underpaid Council Tax so had to take £100 out of the grocery budget, meaning I have now only got £70 left for the rest of March. In theory I should be fine but I always seem to find something to fritter it away on!
Toast and Nutella for breakfast, just been to a meeting and they had cakes simI had an eclair.
Lunch will be leftover chicken and mushroom from last night, and dinner will be pork medallions with potato and Boston Beans.
Have got fruit, yoghurt sand alpro soya desserts for afters.
Hope you are all having a god day.Jane

NSD here today, though I can't say the same for yesterday
I've been comfort eating/buying books. Bought fish and chips out for dinner last night, plus rather a lot on books. I've been tossing up whether they should come under this challenge - and I think that for now at least I won't add them in here - one focus at a time :A
Managed to feed myself quite well for all three meals, plus a second breakfast - and made a big pot of curried lentil soup for dinner, which will go into the freezer for lunches next week. Dead cheap, too.March 2020 grocery challenge $921.76/$500AU

Weekly shop between Sainsburys/Lidl done at £27.83 so remaining budget is £139.65/£180 going into week 2.
Will probably need some milk by the weekend but hopefully not much else so hope to rack up a string of NSD's going forward. We Made-it-3 on 28/01/11 with birth of our gorgeous DD.0 -
A NSD here but planning on some dessert that will use up some more milk so a milk run will be necessary even sooner, though since I took out my float at the end of last month I will not need to impact any bank or credit card accounts for a while yet. It's really easy to default to cynicism these days, since you are almost always certain to be right.0

Hi everyone,
Budgets done to here
Welcome to:
Elisheba and MrsDoubleEwe
smokies - do you want to set a budget?
Went to Costco yesterday and bought chicken breasts, minced beef, meatballs and sausages in bulk. Also got juice cartons, pepsi max, oasis, choc chip brioche, pg tips, nesquik, squash, fajitas kits and fruit flakes.
Grand total of £113.80  but that gives us 15 meals-worth of meat for the 5 of us, plus all the other bits (teabags for at least 6 months if not longer).
Budget looking a bit shabby now. DD is starting food tech tomorrow and needs coleslaw ingredients, so off to Sains with her after school.
I have given up chocolate for Lent - hoping this will save me a few quid :rotfl:

NSD today
It was a NSD yesterday apart from petrol. I have been deciding whether this counts. My NSD was going to be any spends ( not just groceries) but petrol is one of those things that you can't wait for. So I think I wont count thus as I could gave filled up Sunday or Monday when I had spent some money!
So 2 NSD so far. I need to go shopping tomorrow as we have friends coming over for dinner but we also have friends coming over for dinner on Sunday and I don't want to get this veg yet!
So I have decided to spend £40 in morrisons (I have a voucher) and then nip into aldi on Sunday for veg and yoghurts for the week! It means two shopping trips this week but I will just have to be strict on myself!Grocery challenge-
