Hi, can I join in too please?
I'm a mum to an 18 month old and a 5 year old. I live in a tiny 2 bed terraced house and have no built in storage and limited space for furniture after squeezing in sofas, a table etc. My stairs are so narrow onky the smallest flatpack furniture will go up them and space in the bedrooms is so limited the babies clothes live in the bottom of my welsh dresser! I work evenings, my hubby works nights and slowly stuff has piled up, there's no method to it, every drawer downstairs is a mixture of paperwork, junk and odds and ends, there's only 2 cupboards in the kitchen and everything just piles up. The plan for tomorrow is to tackle the cupboard under the sink and assign half of it to tin storage and have a rummage through the toybox to chuck any broken toys. I have a 4 drawer plastic tower that was used to store packets and crisps etc in the kitchen, these can be moved to the shelf the tins were on and the drawers will be free for toys....theoretically. ...I figured if I could group toys together in sets then they can just have a drawer out at a time....Started comping 23/05/12Thankyou to everyone who takes the time to post competitionsWins: Pantera CD, Hunter Wellies0 -
:hello:Welcome to all newbies and to those that are returning to this inspiring thread.
So far this weekend I haven't achieved much. I have managed to sort out my purse and throw away a lot of receipts and put a couple of empty cardboard boxes in the recycling bin. Hopefully achieving more later on.No toiletries challenge, started 18/1/2010 - Putting £1 in my savings jar for every item that I use up. Pot 1 to 4 = £261. Pot 5=£23

I forgot to mention that during this week I have also managed to declutter:
* 2 hand creams (one at work & one at home)
* A packet of crisp rolls that I have had for ages which has been used up as a snack at work.
* An unloved gift, a body lotion smelling of fruit has been demoted to a hand cream in the kitchen. Hopefully this will be used up in a month or so.No toiletries challenge, started 18/1/2010 - Putting £1 in my savings jar for every item that I use up. Pot 1 to 4 = £261. Pot 5=£23

FINALLy! I finished the nursery and packed the changing bag! Hubby cleaned out and polished inside both cars and we got the baby seats in next to DSs booster seat.
Still hoping to help my little man tidy his room and pack my hospital bag tonight or tomorrow too (that'll clear a pile of bits and pieces from the corner of my room too - energy drinks, a pile of snacks, etc.)0 -
For those with loads of teddies my local cash 4 clothes also takes soft toys (not huge ones though!)
I have a new bag started for cash 4 clothes already with a couple of teddies, pair of too big jeans and a top in
The DDs had a much needed tidy up and clear out of their bedroom. They came down armed with bags of stuff. One for recycling, one for the bin, some bits for the CS and 2 large bags of sell-able things - can see the floor and surfaces in there now! Will get it put on my local FB selling pages and anything that doesn't go soonish can be sent to the CS
OH was/is avid blu-ray collector getting special editions/steelbooks etc. He's decided to have a huge clear out today and has 3 large cardboard boxes full of ones he's listed on some forums he's on and will then list on ebay when they next have free listings. He's been selling some in dribs and drabs over the past 6 months but is going for it big time now! More space in the 'cinema room' + money for the wedding fund = happy me
2 plastic baby spoons DD2 aged 6 (!) wouldn't let me bin before have now gone. Found them in the bottom of a kitchen drawer yesterday along with a plastic handled metal baby spoon.
Plenty left to do and have a list of jobs for tomorrow so hopefully more will leave this house!Extra savings aim for 2020 £4,000 £0/£4,000

I don't have toooo much clutter but def need to get all my folders etc cleared, thinking of moving house and its just not funny to move any excess is it?!Light Bulb Moment - 11th Nov 2004 - Debt Free Day - 25th Mar 2011 :j0 -
Today ( or yesterday now) I started an attack on the kitchen cupboards. So much out of date stuff, or bottles with dregs that look dodgy. And the number of things stuck to shelves! We seem to have a bottle/tin of golden syrup on every shelf, it's some kind of conspiracy I'm sure. I did it last year and less than a week it had turned to chaos again
nobody seems to be able to stick to a simple system in this house... fingers crossed it might last a little longer this time. (Or I will break their fingers :A lol)
Anyway plan is now -
Kitchen inside cupboards sorting
Kitchen outside of cupboards painting
Tardis attack
Bedroom
Aim for kitchen is Wed... wish me luck!
Oh and RE the stuffed toys I'm still pretty undecided, I so wan't to keep them but dust trap issues is causing me problems. Someone mentioned the vaccume packs I'm thinking I might look into getting some and pop them in the loft for now. Our loft is pretty full... I say full, there are no floor boards up there so things literally can only go where you can reach from the entrance. But I have decided to make room I'm going to throw CD cases, I put all the CD's into a folder about 12 months ago but for some reason thought I needed to keep the cases... I don't! they are going!
xI hope you know your capable, & brave, & significant.

Seemingly designed for declutterers everywhere, this landed in my inbox the morning:
"To make good use of what you have and to let go of what you do not use is to live in a contented way."Value-for-money-for-me-puhleeze!
"No man is worth, crawling on the earth"- adapted from Bob Crewe and Bob Gaudio
Hope is not a strategy...A child is for life, not just 18 years....Don't get me started on the NHS, because you won't win...I love chaz-ing!

Today I have emptied the shredder after shredding some paperwork yesterday. The recycling bin is nearly full now ready to be collected tomorrow.
The aim for next week is to sort through the mail.No toiletries challenge, started 18/1/2010 - Putting £1 in my savings jar for every item that I use up. Pot 1 to 4 = £261. Pot 5=£23
