Cuddly toys I have boxes of them in the loft but most of them belong to the kids but I just haven't got space in any room to have them out. They have a shelf in their bedroom with a few on, but that's it. I sold a few before Christmas. hubby's grandparents, as nice a gesture as it is, have a habit of buying our children massive stuffed toys. They go straight in the loft, seriously, no room for them lol. I found 4 of them up there, all with tags on and pristine so I decided to sell as Christmas gifts. didn't get much, but the people were very happy. I bought arts and craft supplies for the kids with the proceeds lol.Changing my Family's Future!! - Starting again!!!!

I put away a pile of stuff that has been sitting on top of the piano for 2 weeks into the "important stuff box" that my husband purchased recently. I have to say that "the important stuff box" has been a revelation for me. I have never been as organised regarding car/house/work/money/general life documents! I recommend it! Also it is black and fits nicely on the black shelf underneath the piano!Save 12k in 2014 (my target: £10 000):

Hi ladies!! Haven't been on here for a while so it's great to return and see so many of you chipping away at your January targets! Well done to you all!
I've been doing a bit this week (as well as my OH!). We've got rid of the following:
18 items of clothing (some CS/some binned)
2 broken belts
1 shoebox
1 pair of old slippers
1 burnt out candle
3 pairs of old (seen better days!) socks
1 bottle of old perfume used up
2 'very old' bottles of body lotion binned.
Will be eBaying some stuff this weekend that i've found along the way so hopefully that will add towards my target!2015 - I am determined to lose at least 3 stone in weight and I must pay off at least one of my credit cards...If I keep telling myself, I might start believing it!!!Save £2 a day for Xmas 2015 Challenge: £56/£730:dance: HAPPY NEW YEAR - HERE'S TO A GREAT 2015 FOR US ALL! :dance:0 -
I had a try on and sort out of some clothes, so now :-
82-87 : Clothes - ready to be sold at the nearly new sale (they are not currently taking spring/summer clothes)
Re: stuffed toys, I have to say I don't really 'do' stuffed toys, and neither did my boys. But I can see how having loads of them would take up space! How about taking photos of them, and then donating them? Or choosing a small number to keep, and donate the rest? Or put them in those vacuum storage bag things and store them somewhere else, so you can get rid of the chair?Enjoying the power and freedom of letting things go.

Had a big toy sort out last night. Have a bag of little toys from happy meals and such to go in the bin, a few bits including a big plastic activity table I was given and has never seen use, ready for the CS run tomorrow. I was hoping to get rid of more but my boys are very good at playing with almost everything and my eldest is now old enough that he will notice if I get rid of even the smallest thing! :rotfl:
Not a lot else to report. Shopping night tonight so really should clear the cupboards and fridge.Changing my Family's Future!! - Starting again!!!!

Met up with my charity shop contact at my lock up and she has taken away a small van full. She was really pleased with everything and wants to take stuff on a regular basis, so that will be brilliant !
Epic fail with the space by the freezer, started then got distracted, but it will definitely be done next week.
Listing loads on Ebay, so more stuff will be going shortly. Really happy with how it's going so far. You're only young once, but you can be immature forever0 -
Good Afternoon to all declutterbugs :hello: - aaaaah, at last a 'free day' to have yet another go at shifting some stuff out of the flat.
I MUST, first of all, make 'my confession' to you all - I've been a very naughty girl.
Yesterday, during my full-day CS Shift, a lady came in with a HUGE bag of 'Ladies size 9's shoes'. Her very words were 'I don't know if you can actually SELL these, I'm afraid they're size 9's so might not go ..........'. Was she kidding, or what? One of my colleagues and I (both of us size 9'ers) nearly killed each other to welcome her with open arms ................. :rotfl:. We normally sell shoes for £1 per pr - but these were so nice that I paid £2 per pr for each of 5 prs :j. Also picked up a pair of size 8 Kickers for myself - wide fitting style, so they actually fitted me.
THEN there were the books  - three of the most delightful children's Christmas Books - the sort that are more for adults to read to kids rather than for kids to mess about with. One of them has 'holographic animated illustrations', then there's a re-telling of Snow White and finally Hartley Bear's Christmas Story
Oh dear - must try hard this afternoon to find enough to 'chuck out' to justify the new acquisitions - ' I live in hope ................'0 -
Well done all on your tales of de-junking!
I have another question - what to do with a brand new coffee percolator? It's a cheap one, and I don't think I'll use it for its intended purpose as there isn't enough space on my kitchen worktop for it. Any creative ideas, or should it be a straight to eBay purchase?
Eta: have seen this and am unlikely to take up any of the suggestions!Value-for-money-for-me-puhleeze!

Good evening everybody - what a right miserable, grey day we've had here
. So glad I didn't have any plans to leave home today.
Well done on all your 'sorting and chucking out' - sounds like we're all making great progress at the moment. Keep up your good work :T
I see there's lots of new posters joining us on this thread so :hello: andto you all. Really looking forward to you keeping us updated with all your decluttering activities. Don't forget that when we read YOUR stories, it keeps US motivated as well
.
My progress for today:
57. 4 pairs of shoes/slippers have been dumped into the bin :j.
58. A couple of catalogues that arrived went directly into the recycling – just so I wasn't tempted to browse through them .
59. One of OH's shirts has been washed and ironed for CS asap.
60. A stuffed 'Scooby-Doo' toy into the CS bag.
62. A stuffed 'Donkey' (from Shrek) toy into the CS bag.
63. Three children's books into the CS bag.
64. All recycling has been removed and into the outdoor wheelie bin for Monday am.
65. An unworn scarf decluttered to dgd1 as a present for one of her friends – she couldn't find anything suitable in my 'present stash'.
66. By organising jumpers/tops/shirts onto the same coat-hangers as some of my skirts, I've managed to 'declutter' my wardrobe of quite a lot of hangers – now hanging in the spare bedroom wardrobe with my 'long frocks/good outfits'. My own wardrobe looks MUCH tidier.
67. Burned a Yankee candle this afternoon – not exactly one of my favourite fragrances, but it was a way of getting rid of it lol!.
68. All laundry dried AND put away neatly - nothing lying around waiting to be folded/ironed/rehomed etc :j.
Hopefully, I'll be able to take the stuff for the CS out with me tomorrow - IF the weather isn't as bad as it's forecast to be.
I've got dgs1 (age 12 with ADHD/ASD) for 'an overnighter' tomorrow evening. Don't want to be 'cooped up' with him - so really hoping that we can get out somewhere on Sunday. He's not good when 'confined to barracks'.
I'll be back in tomorrow morning - need to make the most of my PC before dgs1 arrives because I won't get a 'look-in' once he's here. He's a 'Minecraft Fanatic' and will spend hours at it, IF allowed.
sleep well all, speak again in the morning - luv Lilyplonk xx0 -
I need to join here. We dedicated 2013 to clearing the clutter from our house, so much has left the house yet there seems to be no difference what so ever, rather disheartning. On the old thread someone posted a link to the site '365 things less' which I found helpful to get me in the mindset of decluttering the odd thing here or there rather than being over whelmed.
Good luck everyone with your targets, we will all have clear floors, no paperwork avalanches or piles of stuff by the end of the year hopefully!Best wins in 2013 £200 and Mini iPad. 2014 no wins. 2015 2 nights 5* hotel with £300 vouchers plus £1150 Harrods gift card
