    Hello :)
I think I need to be here...
I really need to declutter, we have what we refer to as the tardis... it is effectively the "box room" was once a bedroom, then a dining room. Why the tardis, this room has to be bigger on the inside! anything or everything that can't be found is always "in the dining room" I don't know how this little room holds so much stuff!
I want to give this room a job again, it's going to be a gaming room (house the wii and lil sis xbox, and the computer) and art room, it has a built in wardrobe which I'm hoping to get all the art stuff into, we're a very arty family, and I'm sick of having it all on top of my wardrobe!

So this is going to be a long long process... End result will be a decluttered bedroom (the stuff of dreams!), in order to achieve it I need to declutter the tardis... Ideally to do that I need to continue with my sorting of the loft, I made some serious headway in the loft end of last year :D 6 bags of clothes, 4 VHS players and 1 hifi all went to cash for clothes :D. The bags of clothes contained MY school uniform and baby clothes...I'm 24!! :|
I am also addicted to boxes of "stuff" everything goes into boxes, or tins... I hate Christmas gift boxes they always look so useful! I have 3 EMPTY ones on my book case right now :(

All that said....a major issue for me could be that I have OCD tendencies... the more tidy I get the worse they become, doing the stuff in the loft was a bit of a nightmare because I had to wash my hands and change my clothes everytime I came out of there... :/ ...organised chaos is a term that is very much relevant to me, so I have to try to declutter without giving in to obsessive compulsive behaviours.
Long very long, but slow process for me...

Since my last post we have got rid of:

2 large bags of clothes/teddies/footwear finally taken to cash 4 clothes - 13kgs in total so £4.50 into the wedding fund and £1 each to the DD's purses.

OH had a sort through of all the boxes and packaging material we have in the garage (he sells a lot on ebay so kept anything and everything he ever got sent) and recycled 2 large bags of screwed up brown packaging paper that we've not used in 2 years so not likely to now!; some small cardboard boxes and binned a few tatty carrier bags. Organised the rest into bags of bubble wrap/boxes of smaller boxes etc. Much tidier in there now :)

I found the rest of the stash of Xmas catalogues and brochures etc - 6 of those to recycling

Currently going through a pile of hidden object PC games with DD2 and have several to sell which I'll hopefully be able to do via FB selling pages

Recycled 2 broken hangers that had been in the bedroom for a while

Yet another pair of very old and thin socks to the bin - good job we all got plenty of news ones at Xmas!

Old surround sound player/sub woofer and 4 large speaker towers given to OH's Grandad - these were replaced with a much smaller system so not really a loss but we've ended up with something that takes up much less space - less dusting for me too!

Bag of 'recycling' handed in at school for the Reception class 'junk remodeling' area

I have lots of areas bot big and small to sort through but I've been so tired/dizzy etc lately that I haven't got much done. Blood tests done and something's come back as 'abnormal' which I'm guessing is iron levels. Waiting to see Doc on Monday and I'll hopefully get myself sorted and get my much needed energy back to crack on with more sorting out!

  • Have managed to keep downstairs clutter free for a few weeks now but everything is just shifted upwards to kids rooms and landing! Have to be drastic and take some plastic large toys to CS tomor before work... They are never looked at and are really getting to me! I want to reclaim the house!!! I think I am hoarding on behalf if the kids... Incase they will want to play with it in the future! Have 2 large bags of clothes for CS in boot too . Haven't got the will power for ebay as I've had too many non payers ... At least CS are going to benefit. Corner of bedroom is also a hot spot for clutter I wonder Wud I miss anything if I just chucked the lot ! Tempted! In a head staggers mood tonight! Keep up the good work all , really enjoy the posts!!!

Well done everyone, welcome new groupies.

Been fab day for decluttering AND making some lovely cash!:T

    Sold 10 watches on eBay
    Used 10 padded envelopes
Used a load of bubble wrap
    VERY happy us.:T

Spent some time yesterday sifting through my two craft storage bins and found a few more bits for eBay. Will be doing a big sell on eBay probably around March - usually do a mass listing of around 100 items.

Also got my new cooker today, oh my word it is beautiful. All White and shinning. This is not clutter as I have already got a cleared space for it and my new washing machine to live until we get the forever house. Fingers crossed it will be this year. Then we have some lovely new things to move with.

Slightly off topic, can you believe that we are still eating out the freezers from big shop on December 19th? We are doing really well with this as they are all really well stocked still. I think we are getting the hang of this living within our means lark!!

Keep up the good work, new groupies be warned: decluttering is addictive!:j

Have you considered cash for clothes?
You get a few pennies for them, and they go to charity shops across Europe so charities still benefit :)
And the clutter hot spot what I would do if you can't bring yourself to just chuck it all, bung it all in a box put the box somewhere out of the way and if you haven't gone there looking for anything in a week/2weeks chuck it all! That way you know you don't need it without finding out too late.

I'm in a bit of a pickle as to what to do with old stuffed toys? Most of mine have gone in the loft/to grans, or actually a load on a bonfire recently (we have mouse problems in our loft :/). I've had a chair in my room that's been used for nothing but cuddly toys and clothes in probably 10 years, and I wan't rid of the chair...But I don't know that I can part with some of the cuddly toys, overly sentimental, but they are quite large... and I don't wan't to look at them all the time either! :/
