I am tantalisingly close to hitting my goal of 100 items decluttered by new year. :D

    94. Another Christmas candle used up. Loved the smell of this one- it was called silent night and got it as a gift last year. Seen it today in John Lewis and the price

    95. Pair of jeggings binned - falling into holes

    96. Another 2 bags down to the recycling
No buying toiletries Graduated May 2017
    Decluttered 2016 2469 items, 2017 1580 items :j
    2018 3060 items

No idea why this post ended with the word Dam! How rude.
Further progress with the book shelves. Folders of work from 2011 are finally in the recycling. I have had Spotify on and danced round while filling sacks :A
Downstairs is trashed, so I have retreated to my room.

    Hello

I haven't been here for awhile but time to get back on board. Today I cleaned and sorted three kitchen cupboards and the fridges. We had an "eat up tea" so that decluttered the fridge, and I made a cheese and onion pie with some onions that needed using and grated a variety of open packs of cheese. Should make an interesting pie.

The children sorted out their Christmas gifts and the packaging is ready to go when our recycling/wheelie bin is emptied on Monday.

I sorted 2 carrier bags full out of DS wardrobe yesterday - but didn't count them. Probably 25-30 items, I guess. Maybe 15 from DDs the day before. Also slung a toy boat from the bathroom.

Kiddies have a party at 1 and we need to pop to wilko first so not sure I'll get chance this morning. Conservatory needs attention but it's cold. Brrr.

  • Morning All.
Still in my pyjamas having a cuppa. Seem to have adapted quite quickly to a slower pace during Christmas break.
Did quite well yesterday, one bin bag for charity shop has grown to two and a half. The extras are bits and pieces DS and DD have grown out of, plus I sorted their arty/crafty shelves in kitchen cupboard which they don't dip into so often now. Now one shelf rather than two. So a bit of jigging about and there should be a home for my new food processor from DSis.
Council came yesterday to empty recycling bin, despite snow, well done to them. So, we can start thinking about recycling packaging on kids' presents and finding homes for them all.
Right, best get on. DS off to footy today with his Dad. DD and I might go a walk into town. Off to the panto this evening, oh no we're not...

  • Hello,
I'm new to this thread, but have been slowly decluttering all year. Now I need to step it up a bit! Life really is easier with less 'stuff' around to negotiate. I'm off work this week, so whilst we plan to have a couple of days out, I'm also determined to fill a few more charity bags! My big weakness is books, but I've run out of shelf space, so will have to be focussed and get rid of books I've never read (and most likely never will!). That's going to be my first job.
