I managed to sling a knackered pair of pinking shears, and 30 books. I always find it hard to get rid of books, so had to grit my teeth. I will dust the shelves tomorrow.Nothing is so fatiguing as the eternal hanging on of an uncompleted task

Failed miserably at this challenge this year. I had fits and starts at decluttering and the CS did a good trade from me, but I still ended up with more clothes, more books etc etc, which defeats the whole object.
Determined to get the spare room finally sorted and decide once and for all about what shelving (if any) I want in the bedroom.
I intend to get back on the wagon!
So would like a house and cupboards etc that have more space.0 -
Hello All.
I'm back on the de-cluttering wagon. All the stuff and mess that Christmas brings is stressing me out and de-cluttering is the answer!
I'm sorry to say I've already recycled most of my Christmas cards into gift tags for next year, except for a few, special family ones. Had a cull of hanging part of my wardrobe resulting in bin bag filled for charity shop. Feel loads better already. Life really is easier with less stuff everywhere. Will do more this afternoon, staying warm indoors :-).
Happy Christmas!

Love your name, guineapigsqueaks.
Good luck with your decluttering later. I'm wrestling with whether to do a bit or make a cuppa and watch some of West Wing!0 -
Catslovelycats. I am unable to de-clutter without a cuppa on the go, so both is fine. I class it as multi-tasking...
Right, off to achieve something.

Hi all
I've not been on the decluttering thread this year but I'm thinking it might be time to come back. I started yesterday in DD wardrobe. She got a few new bits for Christmas so I got rid of some too small socks and pants. And I took some hand-me-downs for my cousins little girl too.
I'm going to do DS wardrobe today. In fact, I might go up now, feeling chilly so a bit of activity might warm me up!
I'm going to aim for 50 things out by new year!Bossymoo

Hello bossymoo, good luck!
131. Bag of boys clothes to sister :j
132. Another carrier bag of tat out of playroom :j
Really pleased with how well I've done. I'm ploughing on through the new year too. I'm going to struggle with hoarding recycling over the next few weeks, the collection fell on boxing day so the council aren't going to do it now until it's next due in two weeks! That's a months worth of recycling including all the excess packaging from Christmas! Luckily I have a garage to put it in0
