Thank you, they will definitely be getting stuff from me.belfastgirl23 wrote: »I also checked on ebay to see if I would be able to sell a coat that cost an absolute bomb, so I've put several similar on my watch list to see what they go for. Don't know if I could bear to sell it for very little money, I might prefer to send it to the CS. It would free up a lot of wardrobe space though, it's bulky.
Glad to hear you're all getting on so well.
I sold a hardly worn coat on eBay before Christmas. It went for more than I thought it would. I didn't use Royal Mail to post it though as it was very bulky and would have cost a fortune. I used Collect+ and they charged less than £5 which included tracking. I think high postage puts bidders off.
I've had 4 items end on eBay today. One didn't sell so relisted that at 99p. Other three will go in the post tomorrow. Slowly making a dent in things.0 -
I use moisturiser that I don't like for my face as hand cream- currently using an M&S night cream on my hands - it's lovely (as hand cream!).
I've been out for the day with a friend, so not done any concentrated decluttering, but in the bathroom this morning, I found a few bits:-
46. Face wash that I hate - and I was using it:rotfl: (nearly finished it!) - bin
47. Hair oil stuff that makes my hair lank - bin.
48. Very, very old lipstick (5 years? More??!!) - bin
Will be at home more tomorrow, and have added 'clear out the bathroom cabinet' to my to do list.
I also have paperwork to sort out - it's my nemesis and I've been putting it offEnjoying the power and freedom of letting things go.

Item for today: a bathing suit that is highly plunging and therefore inappropriately sexy for my needs
given to me by a friend, god knows why she thought it would suit me.
Thank you for the ebay tips, the postage one is also really useful Angellore, I hadn't even thought about that. None of the coats I'm watching on ebay has any bids at all so I guess they aren't that popular, it was a lovely coat though, I just lost too much weight to be able to wear it again. Which is at least good news for meWill keep an eye anyway.
Still got a couple of kitchen cupboards to go through but that will have to wait for the weekend!0 -

Today it was mild for January and I wore a dress I haven't used for 4 years - along with a velvet slip I haven't worn for at least 8! So I'm trying to get better utility out of my stuff. But it does feel great to do some shredding, better get some done
I bet though that you're wearing it because you remembered about it because you decluttered other stuff and came across it again. I have things in my wardrobe still that are 20 years old, but only things I will wear again on occasion!0 -
I decluttered a job today....does that count? After giving the bathroom a really good clean yesterday, I decided to rip all of the mucky old bath sealant out and reseal the bath and shower screen.
Nothing physically decluttered, but a job off the to do list.PAYDBX 2016 #55 100% paid! :j Officially bad debt free...don't count my mortgage.
Now to start saving...it's a whole new world!!0 -

Thanks for that. We have an Oxfam in our town I can pop them in there after work.

This is what I've got rid of today:
14. Pair of men's boots – he said to, honest! - to CS
15. Pair of 24% Lead Crystal Candlesticks (still unused in box) to CS
16. Man's tie and cufflinks in box to CS
17. Man's T-shirt to CS
18. Man's shirt to CS – he really IS on a roll isn't he
I've also turfed out three old 'eye-creams' from the bathroom cabinet - not sure when they were opened, but I've got a nice new one now so 'they've been evicted'.
Tipped 2 opened tubs of cotton buds into 1 to get rid of one of the tubs.
Found an empty plastic storage basket for dgd1 - she's emptied a huge pack of nailvarnishes and other nail products (a Christmas present) into it and it now fits into the bottom drawer of the bedside cabinet in the spare bedroom. The packaging has now been dumped/recycled where appropriate. She's gradually turning the 'spare room' into 'her room' :rotfl:.
Went around the flat this morning picking up hats/scarves/gloves and put them back where they belong - in one of those plastic drawer units in the downstairs porch. Why does nobody - including ME - take them off as they come in and just put them away immediately :undecided?
Decluttered a pizza and some spicy wedges from the freezer for evening meal tonight.
Have taken out a tub of 'Shank Stew and Dumplings' for tomorrow night's evening meal - so that's even more space cleared in the freezer :j.
Feels like 'some' progress has been made - especially as I've been out for half of the day. I'm out for the entire day tomorrow, so need to make sure that I leave the place tidy before I go out in the morning. I've also been asked if I can do an extra afternoon shift on Friday - so there's another day spoken for ............. - but at least I'll have the morning to 'have another go'.
Well done to everybody else - keep up the good work. I love reading about all the motivation and it helps to keep ME going as well.
