Sorted all the paperwork that had gathered on the kitchen sideboard and end of kitchen table - burnt anything that was not needed and filed anything that couldn't be gotten rid of. Few more items added to the sell/CS pile. Had a quick look through the kitchen cupboards and I think we have tooooo many mugs, anyone know somewhere things like that can be donated and go to people who need help with basic household items?Christmas is the most magical time of the year :santa2:

Back at my place tonight and got some great news. I've got the go ahead from my insurance company to instruct the contractors to redo my bathroom :j:j This is such a relief. Not sure if it will be able to be done before Christmas or it might roll into January.
The clutter clear up continues...

I'm getting right back on the Horse of Declutter tomorrow. Did it in 2012 but I've let things slide to worse than before I started . It's making me depressed2016: No Clutter to Be Seen 805/2016

Old bedstead dismantled and new divan and headboard assembled. Just waiting for hubby to come home then he can take the packaging and old bedstead to the tip and 2 bags of cds/dvs to the CS.
Also binned a couple of old pieces of make-up and half used (but gone off) hand creams.
eta: Gone now. New bed all made, I just need to buy a valance sheet next week.Illegitimi non carborundum.0 -
Oh. My. Goodness! Why have I only just seen this thread!?
Hi everyone, I'm Foxy and up to now have pretty much lived in the Grocery Challenge thread... but I have just been having a browse around the forum and NEED to join in here!
I already started my de-clutter/sales a week or so ago, up to now I have made £50 from the sale of some of the clutter, but there is a long way to go! Anything I make is safely stashed in my savings account and is out of bounds... I start an OU course in Feb and would like to buy a cheap(ish) laptop, so am going to use that as a goal!Debt Free Journey started 21.05.20170 -

Decluttering - January 2024 - 89 physical objects, over 700 emails/digital decluttering 🎊 🏅🏅0 -
Aiming for 100 this month. I am going to count even very small things as I find the watching the total add up very motivating. Also going to add any cosmetic user-uppers as I've got a stupidly huge stash and need to get finishing all those bottles and jars that are just sputterers.
1. Load of bits of cardboard from ebay packaging
2. Cracked cereal bowl
3. Cracked mug. My last jelly baby mug. Bit upset about that one actually, didn't mean to declutter it!
4. Broken plastic box I keep my hairclips and stuff in
5. Few broken / bent / grotty old hairclips
6. Bent knitting needles relegated to greenhouse for next years chilli plants (make good mini-stakes!)
7. Digital photo-frame keyring. Stupid pointless & a waste of batteries never used it & never will2016: No Clutter to Be Seen 805/2016

Have been lurking and found this thread helpful. Not sure if this is the right place but am attempting a clear out and I have so many cables/leads/chargers from appliances, most of which are brand new. Half are still in packaging unused.
I also have 4 modems! I have googled it but the sites seem to be American.
I am happy to recycle or sell or give to charity- just want them gone!
Have booked British Heart Foundation for next week to take an unwanted TV and printer but no mention on site of leads/cables etc.
Any help appreciated please.0 -
I just decluttered my airing cupboard and have got lots to take to the charity shop first thing on Monday; am feeling thoroughly inspired by this thread! I am going to start my list here, I like the idea of documenting the stuff I get rid of... so here goes (including the bits I sold last week):
1. 1990's original Lara Croft figure - £sold
2. WCW figure - £sold
3. Dr Who board game - £sold
4. Turtle Beach Xbox headset - £sold
5. 2 x Double duvet set - cs
6. 4 x Single duvet set - cs
7. 3 x pairs curtains - cs
8. Bedroom rug - cs
9. Cot quilt - cs
10. 1x hand knitted baby cardigan - cs
11. 100pc jigsaw puzzle - donated
12. "fishing game" - donated
13. Charlie & Lola book/CD set
The last three items were unopened Xmas gifts that I found in my boys' bedroom. The jigsaw and game are being donated to the school for their Xmas fete, the books and CD are being re-gifted to my niece, who loves C&L.
Am going to carry on, there is so much more to do!!!!Debt Free Journey started 21.05.20170
