Husband has sorted out the boxes that were under his side of the bed and has binned a bin bag full before decanting the rest back into the new drawers. :T

I have been very lax lately so I have set myself a challenge of 5 items going out today.Have been lurking and found this thread helpful. Not sure if this is the right place but am attempting a clear out and I have so many cables/leads/chargers from appliances, most of which are brand new. Half are still in packaging unused.
I think that is very common as we had loads too.:(HOUSE MOVE FUND £16,000/ £19,000

Carrying on with the massive decluttering mission today, although I think tomorrow might be more productive as the kids will be at school
Today so far I have sorted out my fridge/freezer and storecupboard, hubby was sorting out the massive pile of mismatched storage tubs/lids, but I think he has gone for a nap *prods him awake*
I also have the kids' clothes to sort, a lot of the stuff is worn through or grown out of, need to get rid so I can determine what they need for winterDebt Free Journey started 21.05.20170 -
I'm going to join you all if you don't mind.
I had a poorly son (I have six year old twins, one of each) home last Thursday so he lay on my bed while I went through my bookcase and sorted books I'll either never read (I was really honest with myself, a lot of them came from other people who know I love reading but not really my preferred genres but I feel rude declining books so I always say yes) or that I've read and my mum's read!! I have seven bags waiting to go to the charity shop tomorrow morning and a lovely tidy bookcase. The only problem is there is now space for more and The Book People's catalogue came in the post yesterday....
I now need to go through the childrens' books and clothes. However, I have to make myself a cardboard superhero costume for Friday (Children in Need, Superhero Day) so sorting their things might have to wait until after that. It's impossible to do when they're at home as they "LOVE THAT TOY" (that they haven't played with for two years and had forgotten they owned until you put it in a bin bag!) so I'll do it on one of my days off while they're at school. I usually give their old books and toys to the pre-school they went to, they're always really appreciative so it feels like giving something back.
I went to a local sweet/card shop on Friday and they sold me ten of the plastic jars (if you know what I mean!) that they sell quarters of sweets out of (showing my age now!). I keep breakfast cereal, pasta, rice, couscous, all sorts in them. Keeps things airtight longer and saves half-opened bags of rice and pasta spilling all over the cupboards. Plus, it's much easier to see when you're running low on things.
I LOVE decluttering, it's so therapeutic....Sealed Pot 5 number 15440 -
Listed a load more things on ebay today. Looks like several will go as high numbers of watchers etc. Husband spent a long time doing more comic cataloguing ( he has an enormous collection, thousands, that we are selling off slowly) so lots of pre declutter work going on." Today has been a productive one!
I have gutted my bedroom and got rid of 2 bin bags worth of clothes that I no longer need, off to the CS with the bedding I sorted at the weekend and some books that I had finished with.
My next mission is to sort through a big box of miscellanea that I cleared off my computer desk a couple of weeks ago (my desk is a definite clutter hotspot)... need to get rid of most of it, I thinkDebt Free Journey started 21.05.20170 -
23 items gone in the nearly new sale which brings me up to 50! I may have also slightly bought about 5 things in the sale though
all needed things like coats though....
Trying very hard now to list the rest on gumtree/ fb groups etc0 -
........I have so many cables/leads/chargers from appliances, most of which are brand new. Half are still in packaging unused. ..... .
If the items are still in their packaging you could donate those to a charity shop that takes electrical items.
Otherwise, I put cables etc in the Small Electricals skip at the council recycling centre as the items are sorted and either refurbished to be sold, or are recycled.
