I ordered an new nursing text book. My excuse is I need it for my professional development, not because I love them :o

I also bought some xmas presents but they're only temporary so don't count. :p

Normal recycling went with the bin men today.

    :T
Xmas presents were delivered at the weekend so they've gone. So have the 2 bags of textbooks.

Have ordered a new divan base with 4 drawers so will be having a clearout underneath the bed at the weekend. Busy week at work this week so any further rummaging will have to wait. :)

Where do you all keep your documents and receipts and bills?
I've got a filing box but spills over..try to only keep 5 years worth of statements and policy document stuff.
We have 3. A small one for each car and one larger for household stuff.

Today's offerings to the god of minimalism and decluttering were a set of trading cards left over from a summer reading challenge and a little cap that doesn't fit my son any longer. I'm getting worried as we have a party for him here on the 16th and the room is a right pickle. Eek.

Today I took a black sack with shredded paper and emptied it in Mr T paper-recycling bin. Our current council don't collect shredded paper. The next task is to continue to shred various paperwork.

Old catalogues from 2013 have gone in the recycling bin.

A form has been posted today.
No toiletries challenge, started 18/1/2010 - Putting £1 in my savings jar for every item that I use up. Pot 1 to 4 = £261. Pot 5=£23

Not sure if this is the best place for this but during my de-cluttering, I have also come across some items that I think might be good for Shoebox appeals. Things like soaps, body lotions, hand cream, small toys, flannel, toothbrush, tampons (including an unopened box), razor, playing cards, ladies sock slippers etc.

I don't really want to just throw these as they are new and but we don't have a use for them, but could be used by someone who would appreciate them. Can anyone point me in the right direction and on what is accepted and where to donate to? I don't mind putting little extras in them if needed :)

I have also boxed up a package for Women's Refuge with the above items plus some more bits I found, some cheapie toiletries I picked up and a couple of ill-fitting bras as I read they are short of them.

Thankyou again to Fiasco55 for the suggestion.

Today we decluttered an enormous thing. Our car. The darned thing has been nothing but trouble from day 1. Sold it for a very respectable £350 & now awaiting payment & collection(done via ebay)

Also sold off 18 comics for £20 we are slowly dismantling my husbands collection.

No probs- its a winner all round, you decluttering and some items getting a new home where the will be welcomed (and used).

I am still enduring the saga of my flooded ensuite. Now have all the estimates in so I have sent them off to be scrutinised by the claims adjusters. Also pick out my new bathroom suite at the weekend. Might not have decluttered my flat but my head is feeling decluttered.

So I have only managed a few things:

    31. Recycled 6 leaflets/booklets
    32. Put away my Halloween Costume from Friday night
    33. Used up a couple of items in my toiletry challenge
    34. Found some more summer wardrobe clothes and added them to the lot I have already sorted through.
    35. Binned ice bucket (started to rust)
No buying toiletries Graduated May 2017
    Decluttered 2016 2469 items, 2017 1580 items :j
    2018 3060 items
