  • Wow! Mentioned to someone yesterday that I had lots of Baby Annabelle items and she said she had just bought a doll and can she see what I had. I dropped the stuff off (no one can come round at mo- it's a "bit" cluttered) and she gave me £80 for it. Yessss!
Good start. Animal rescue and sylvanian up next.

Crafty bits are the worst. Always come in handy, never get used :rotfl:
OMG Do I need a life laundry! :j

Hello! I am quietly checking in to say that something has happened to me this week...I think it's something to with the cognitive behaviour therapy course I am doing...but I have actually stuck with a decluttering plan for the past 3 nights!!

I decided not to look at the house as a whole job and have instead decided to work at it in small, VERY small chunks...and it has been working!

For the last three nights I have taken a drawer a night in my bedroom and intend to complete the bedroom...followed by the spare room, followed by the bathroom, followed by the kitchen, followed by the living room etc etc. I am finding in my mind this is a good way for me to manage it, as when I think of the whole house I get overwhelmed! And what has happened in the past, is that I get so overwhelmed that I stop and am back to square 1 again!

So this is the new plan...pyjama and scarf drawer to be done tonight...then that is the whole bedroom chest of drawers completed! Slow and steady does it!
    Save 12k in 2014 (my target: £10 000):
    My savings: £4878.54/£7000
    Joint account savings: £2685.57/£3000
    Total:£7564.11/£10 000 (as at 26/10/14)

I ordered an new nursing text book. My excuse is I need it for my professional development, not because I love them :o

I also bought some xmas presents but they're only temporary so don't count. :p

3 - Various bits of old paperwork into recycling
    4 - Magazine into recycling
5 - Box and packaging materials into recyling
    6 - 13 - Books to charity shop
    14 - 15 - Tops to CS
    16 - Pillowcase to CS
    17 - Jeans to CS
    18 - Picture to CS

I've started filling another charity shop bag, but decluttering is lower on the priority list this week as I must get my assignment written and submitted.

The last of my estimations for my bathroom arrived this morning so I can now move on slightly with the insurance claim. I need to get round some bathroom places and get some ideas fast.

Tonight I opened the dreaded C cupboard to have a look at what gifts I have already bought in for people. I start in the Boxing Day sales for next years gifts. Apart from a box of crackers landing on my head, all went well. I have sorted through them and bagged them up to help when it comes to wrapping them.

    27. Recycled some old cards
    28. 4 huge bottles of sparkling water given to mum to drink (I hate sparkling water)
    29. Binned 3 coasters that were well past their best.
    30. Recycled a few junk mail flyers etc

My bf is taking a look at two broken lamps I have in the hopes he can resuscitate them. It's only taken him 15 months :p I can see them heading for the recycling centre myself.

  • I love the idea of decluttering but I tend to get overwhelmed and potter and just move things from one place to another.
I have started decluttering my DD's bedroom and moved furniture round. She would love her room revamped and I am happy to do this. We have seen a new chest of drawers and wardrobes in ik*a. I just need to get motivated. The landing and spare room are full of her stuff that I moved out to deep clean the room. I just need to decide what can kept or eba*ed or recycled.
I am going to do an hour now before tea (home made pea and ham soup).
    Right...I'm going...

  • I literally did an hour. Sorted out the bottom of DD's wardrobe. Binned loads of stuff from when she was at nursery but kept a select few bits. Put a pile of Summer clothes together to be eba*ed. DD sorted a toy tub..few eb*y bits. Done.
Ik*a tomorrow or Saturday to choose storage...we worked out she needs a lot. She collects you see!!
Made a list and going to stick to it :)
