DH cleared out the garage yesterday, and while I didn't look too closely at what he took to the tip, I'm going to declare 10 items - 14-24 although he almost certainly took more! :j:j And I've persuaded him to put the old lawnmower out on the street for the tat man :)

    Hi everyone

I have been lurking for a bit on this thread and it has given me some motivation to declutter my flat. I just have far too much stuff! I have been slowly chipping away and managed to shift some stuff in the last couple of weeks already; sofa on gumtr££, 8 duvet sets passed to family and bf, double bed to a given to a family member, 5 bags of clothes to cs. Still loads needing to be done, so I hope I could join you?

Before the end of the year I am hoping to have a spare room that looks like a spare room again, not a storage unit. Well that's the plan. I also want to organise myself a lot more too.

My ensuite also just got flooded and I'll be needing a new bathroom so I want my place easier to keep given all of the visitors soon to be through my place getting this work done.

I am a veteran of the no buying toiletries challenge (over 4 years now ) and still using up items.

    Next steps for tomorrow...

Old flat screen portable tv donated to a local youth club for gaming - have arranged it to be dropped off tomorrow.

    Freebie old free view box

I am quite excited about getting stuff done!

  • Hi everyone,

My name is Carryonjulie and I am a hoarder. Right that's out of the way. I now need to start decluttering. Years working in a charity shop haven't helped. I have emptied the loft due to insulation, I have a cellar full of my late dad's stuff and now a living room full of my daughters unwanted toys. I have to sell some as they are animal rescue, sylvanian etc. Car boots are out as I don't have a car and the local paper can take months selling stuff. Any ideas on going forward please as I don't want to live like this anymore. Thank you
OMG Do I need a life laundry! :j

Managed to get rid of 2 bin bags of old paperwork no longer needed just taking space.

Aims for the rest of this week:
      • Declutter storage boxes under bed (mostly full of shoes!)
      • Sort autumn / winter clothing in cupboard, pack spring / summer things away.
      • Give one bag of clothing to local charity shop.
      :A

I was on a couple of the previous decluttering threads and feel like I need to jump back in. Things are starting to pile up again as I have since moved from a 2 bed house to a 1 bed flat. I will work towards getting rid of 100 things and organising things better. I went to Ikea yesterday and bought a scarf/belt organiser and some drawer dividers.

Need to go through my clothes and get rid of some more and pack away my summer things.

1 - Toiletry set given away as a birthday present
      2 - Magazine into recycling
