funny thing about cats, our resuce one didnt mix, we used to joke it was like there was an invisible boundary he was not prepared to go beyond, hed follow us part way down the road to the shops then sit down and cry waiting us walk the rest of the way, but he was always on the doorstep waiting when we got back, hed go into the gardens over the road to chase other cats back home but would never ever go on the park or over the back fence.

  • Yesterday was a very busy day,so I didn't manage any decluttering.

I did buy 14 second hand books and 6 dvds though. :o

    Today I would like to

-do the ironing and tidy away the washing

-sort out and declutter the big bookcase in the hall. There's lots of clutter on the bare parts at the front.

    I'll report back later.

After some thought,I have managed to free up three cupboards, and have already filled two with books and dvds. The cupboard space remaining is quite big,so hopefully I'll manage to cram a lot of dvds and books in it. :)

  • Not as much gone on here as I'd like, too busy...

A fridge clear out is on the cards though, I've already chucked a couple of pots of yoghurt with a use by date that may as well have been years ago!

OH has started decluttering and tidying the shed after some not so subtle hints from yours truly, some old hangers, polystyrene bits and old unusable jars chucked out, still some way to go though.

Sold one thing on ebay (the smallest thing I have to sell but it all helps) but the lovely bidder hasn't paid yet after a week! Why do that?!

Also got rid of the minging bath mat, I spent £12 on it as it promised to be washable and anti mould - my ****! So I've replaced with a £2 wonder for Asda, I'll bet 6 of those will last a damn sight longer than that mat did!

Will need to get bags of winter clothes down from the attic soon, but can be replaced by the electric fan and some summery bits.
  • I ended up taking everything of the bookshelves and re-arranged the books.I've managed to free up some more space for my dvds as a result. And there's less clutter on the shelves.

I still haven't done the ironing, but it's not urgent...I might manage it this evening.

This weekend we have managed to:
    * Put 2 empty cardboard boxes in the recycling bin
    * All ironing done
    * OH has continued to tidy up his office
    * OH has filled 3 black sacks with various bits and pieces from the garage to go to the tip
    * I have shredded old paperwork
    * I have continued to deal with mail received but need to work further on this to get it all done.

Good luck to all with you decluttering. Keep it going.
No toiletries challenge, started 18/1/2010 - Putting £1 in my savings jar for every item that I use up. Pot 1 to 4 = £261. Pot 5=£23

  • Evening everyone.

1 12" vinyl single posted to France (Amazon sale) on Friday.
Cat food delivered on Thursday from Zooplus. So sorted out on Friday & all the cardboard was put into recycling bin (glad that's getting emptied this coming Wednesday).
Keeping on top of shredding paper. Now done more often instead of once or twice a month.
