I'm thinking the same about my tumble dryer Suzeesu as it is huge. My local British Heart Foundation takes goods like that so it was be reused if I do get a new smaller one. I was either thinking that or I will get a washer dryer in one.
I have been really ruthless and got rid of tons of stuff ready to go to the dump. Where does it all come from? It seems like this is a slow and ongoing process. My garden looks totally empty now.:rotfl:HOUSE MOVE FUND £16,000/ £19,000

Thanks for the encouragement all.Ironing done!
suzeesu I hope your woes are over now.0 -
Sending my best wishes to suzeesu for a happy new home.
DS2 & DH did the tip/fabric recycling run on Saturday and the garden and bedroom are now clear of sacks etc and a broken plant pot has also gone.
DS went back with a jumper and a waterproof of DH's, as well as an Xmas item.
My eBay auctions are ending today and Weds, so I hope to have a nice sum of money and a clear space in the wardrobe. I have spent the morning packing all the items with bids on and used up my stash of bubble wrap, two part rolls of tape and half a pack of tissue paper as well as 16 mailing bags so the cupboard looks a bit tidier.
Three items have found their way into the new fabric recycling bag as I was folding away my summer clothes.
Mount Ironmore, and (I hope) a trip to post some parcels this afternoon

Thank you all for good wishes - much appreciated.
I know that we have a HUUUUUGE eBay coming. As we have been sorting, I have done my old four box system:
1. Throw away
2. Give away
3, Put away
4, eBay
I have a lot of (hangs head in shame) unopened bedding sets to eBay plus some clothing, beautiful purple and embroidery bedding set, lamps, shades to name but a few. Hoping to do that early December and that will also clear the enormous stash of packaging materials I have saved.
When we left old house, I had five plastic storage boxes full of fabrics that I had to give away. Broke my heart but am now being more selective.

suzeesu I like your four box system mantra.
I have a lot to get done. The table still needs to be sorted,so I think that that'll be my goal for today.I would so much like to be able to sit at the table and eat or write.I could just shove everything to one side, but that's a cop out.0 -

I've just remembered something that I thought of a few days ago,to help keep on top of tidying up/decluttering.
Often in the afternoon/evening I'm plonked in front of the telly.I thought that once an hour I could get up and do 5 /10 minutes of tidying or decluttering. That would feel less like a big effort than getting bogged down for two hours.
So,even dusting the coffee table and sorting away a few books in that time is of use to me.0 -
Thats more what I do marmite, I cant stand for long so I do short bursts rather than epic sagas. This morning, I emptied the last two boxes in my bedroom. Have managed to put some away, a couple of items for eBay plus more for the charity shop and two nice empty boxes, woohoo!Saving 1 animal wont change the world - but it will change the world for that 1 animal

I am able to tidy/declutter fro longish periods of time, but I think adding a few 5 minute sessions will do me no harm.
PS I love your signature;the bit about animals BTW.0
