Another 15 items listed on eBay, bids on 7 and 5 days to go :) I won't count them until sold.

3 birthday gifts and 2 baby gifts packed and delivered.

a t-shirt cut up for my rag rug

2 more hangers broken up and recycled

6 more items from the clothes mountain into the fabric recycling, plus a pair of trainers. I am still so very ashamed about the sheer volume of clothing we owned and did not wear, especially as a good 60% of the clothes actually in my wardrobe did not fit me. :o:o Everything in there now either fits or is 1 size larger. Every thing else is in the back bedroom ready for eBay, CS, friends or recycling.

Tidied the top of the dressing table - lots of dust, bent hair grips, odd buttons and 3 nailclippers ...I didn't know we owned so many!.... re-homed or binned.

Luxor, where do you take fabric to be recycled? I have about 4-5 shopping bags full of towels and old sheets that I doubt the charity shops would take (and, quite frankly, I'd be embarrassed to donate them!)

I donated about 12 shopping bags full of carp from my cupboards today and my cupboards are mostly still full, how I fitted it all in I'll never know!

"Recycled" is a loose term, sometimes I should say "re-used"
My local CS will take really tatty stuff and it is sold to the 'ragman' to be processed, I label the bags so they don't need to try and sort through for saleable stuff.
The animal shelter takes towels in any state as the dogs etc don't mind.

our council do a collection where if you bag up clothing bedding towels etc in a different bag to the paper collection (but same colour) they will take that with the recycling.

    9. 12 bags of conifer clipping taken by council garden waste collection - the pile is getting smaller.
    10. chipped plate - binned
    11. bag of old plastic plantpots - taken to tip by neighbour

Three magazines, a paint chart and an out of date guarantee booklet recycled
    2 pens binned
2 decorative 'rag rabbits' donated to a charity.

Some games, a book, two magazines and a badge returned to the correct places (ie not under the coffee table :D)

    Long story short.....

Made homeless in June, rehoused into beautiful "forever" home.

Stuffed anything int boxes as we had to move so quickly and both hubby and i are unwell old crocs.

Whilst in emergency housing, got rid of 80 black bags of not needed stuff. Also had to get rid of massive pieces of mahogany furniture as we didnt know where we would be living and thought rooms might be the usual new tiny ones.

Since being in new home, we are constantly sorting through things to put away properly.

Currently there are about twenty black sacks waiting for the lovely dustybinmen to take away. Have also recycled an enormous tumble dryer to a new home but replaced with a very small one. Have also donated four boxes, two carrier bags, ten huge garden pots and four unopened bags of compost.

Have actually lost count of what we have decluttered but it feels so good to have a clear home. Still lots to deal with though as we still have the loft-full to go through eeek!

Thanks mrs-m, as bad as it has been, we are still so much more fortunate than some folk and I count my blessings on a daily basis.

Good luck with the irtoning. As we now have a wardrobe, I finished ironing all our (much reduced amount of) clobber on Saturday. It is such a nice feeling to not have any hanging about although, I am sure, hubby will rectify that soon LOL.
