Today I threw away an old serving spoon and a old, stained kitchen plug.

I was giving some stuff to a family member but they haven't collected it yet so I'm going to have to hurry them up!

  • Afternoon everyone! Have sorted through the wardrobe today and now have a massive blue Ikea bag full of clothes that will be leaving my flat sooner rather than later. Need to go through it and weed out the things I can realistically sell and the things that can go to charity.

Have also earmarked a pile of books that need to go. Will list those on Amazon tonight and if they haven't sold by the end of the year then they'll go to the charity shop too.

Some things have actually left my house today:

    25. Bag with broken straps (no idea why I was holding on to this)
    26. Broken coat hangers
    27. Pile of magazines in the recycling
    28. Misc rubbish that was lying around

Now to crack open the new shredder and start getting rid of the piles of receipts that have been piling up!

    - a pencil tin - recycled
    - an old teatowel - binned

Looking forward to getting my new bookcase from IKEA on Saturday, so I am going through my large books to decide what to keep and what to cull. I spent a lot of yesterday sitting on the attic steps reading craft books ....:o

Yesterday, for the first time in all the time I've been decluttering, I actually felt really happy and proud of myself- I was shredding & binning the years worth of receipts I've been hoarding meticulously for years. Bit of a watershed moment for me really- why was I keeping a receipt for my grocery shopping from October last year?? It wasn't of any use at all, so it's gone, and they'll stay gone :j

Anyone else had that awesome feel good feeling decluttering?

It's amazing how you can keep finding junk in the house. I am going through all the drawers again today.
