2014 decluttering thread (part 3)

I've reached the end!!
Today I had a UTI and wasn't feeling well enough to leave the house. So I cleared out the pantry, cupboard under the stairs and everyone's clothes. I'd done a dramatic decluttering this summer, but I found 15 carrier bags to donate and chucked out a big pile of rubbish!
Meanwhile OH was in the garden with his dad, who had a day off, pruning the trees, taking everything we didn't need to the dump, and disposing of leaves and cuttings.
I can now say with 99% conviction...I AM CLUTTER FREEEEEE!! Every drawer is organised, every cupboard filled only with essentials, every item of clothing there because I like and wear it!
This thread really helped, though I lurked more than anything!0 -

:T Well done to all for your decluttering efforts.
Since last weekend we have managed to:
* Shred 5 years worth of payslips
* OH has recycled a huge pile of magazines
* OH has continued to tidy up in his office
* I have continued to sort out a pile of paperwork, hopefully this will be completed this weekend.
* 3 items have been dropped off at the charity shopNo toiletries challenge, started 18/1/2010 - Putting £1 in my savings jar for every item that I use up. Pot 1 to 4 = £261. Pot 5=£23

19 - 20 - Two more magazines recycled. I keep finding old magazines from 2 or 3 years ago, as I don't buy them any more. Must have kept them to tear out articles, but figure the information is probably out of date now, so straight into recycling without looking at them.
I managed 20 items out for this month which is ok. However I have had quite a lot come in - two skirts, pair of boots, first aid kit, torch and ornament. I need to be mindful of what is coming in, especially if it isn't an essential item.
Hoping to move house, just waiting to hear outcome. If I get the go ahead, I will be increasing the decluttering in November ahead of the move, so will aim for 100 items out.0 -
Am hitting the minsgame trail again tommorow. It's a new month so I will remove 1 item from my home, then 2 the following day, 3 the day after that & everyday till the month end. I love playing this game as you meet so many other like minded folk. If anyone wants to play check out the #minsgame on twitter." Your vibe attracts your tribe":D

Decluttered our DVDs this morning, getting rid of about 100. Will send some into Music M and some into cex. More space and a few extra pennies! Going to make sure when we watch DVDs we get rid fairly soon after so we don't have so many again! Finding this decluttering lark addictive, rapidly running out of things to get rid of though as I've been trying really hard to keep on top of things![STRIKE]CC1: £354.35 / £354.35[/STRIKE]

Today I finally sorted through the paperwork in the hallway. It either got shredded, recycled or put away. All my various newspaper/ magazine cuttings have been put in a box so that I know where it all is. Really pleased with task.
Also, dusted and hoovered today. No toiletries challenge, started 18/1/2010 - Putting £1 in my savings jar for every item that I use up. Pot 1 to 4 = £261. Pot 5=£23
