Finally decided to give my maternity clothes to charity. Have held onto them to sell on Ebay but never get around to it, so decided to just declutter them. My youngest is 13 :eek:0

Went through my xmas card stash last night and sorted out those that will not be used. Rather than bin them I have rewrapped them into packs of 10. I also looked through the gift tags and so on and have started a bag ready for the local PTA Christmas fair:
- 11 small packs of cards/ gift tags
- 3 tombola items
- a bottle of wine
More to be added I am sureI can cook and sew, make flowers grow.0 -
Quite a good week here...
My sister came over and I gave her two bags of clothes that don't fit me any more (in the good way, thanks Slimming World!), a bag of books and some of the sweet jars for storing pasta and stuff in.
The next day, a friend came over and I gave her a huge pile of all my old fitness/slimming magazines and returned five seasons' worth of box sets of a series on DVD that she lent me MONTHS ago that I just haven't got round to watching. Told her I'll borrow them one at a time when I actually get time to start them.
I then remembered we had a big track and safari animals and jeeps and mountains and whatnot that the twins got about two, if not three years ago. They haven't touched it or asked for it in at least a year so off she went with that too!
At work on Friday my manager said that his son (aged 4, so a couple of years younger than mine) is nuts about die cast cars and trucks and stuff..... strangely, we have two big drawers FULL of the things that again, mine haven't played with FOREVER... Just need to find something to get them to work in on Tuesday now....
Oh and yesterday I shamefacedly took a library book back that I took out at the START of the summer holidays and only found last week hiding on my bookshelf when I had my clearout!! Had to pay a tenner fine so not very MSE at all but at least it's back now. However, I did see that they are having a book sale and their prices are 50 p a book. I know I'll end up "popping in" before pick up from school on Monday but shall try to at least restrain myself from replacing as many as I cleared out!! :rotfl::rotfl:
This week I need to make SOME inroads in the garage so I can call the charity shop guy to come and collect it all. There is a LOT in there and there's nowhere to park anywhere near the shops to drop it off and no way I can carry it from where I CAN park the car. I also still need to go through the kids' books and clothes but those jobs are inbetween working and looking after the kids by myself as Mr S is working away.... again... for the next six weeks.
I'm GETTING there... at least I keep telling myself that...Sealed Pot 5 number 15440 -
:T well done to all for you decluttering.
Not done much this weekend but have managed to sort out all my receipts in my purse. A couple of sachets with various toiletries have also been used up and some magazines have gone in the recycling bin. Two birthday cards are being posted tomorrow. No toiletries challenge, started 18/1/2010 - Putting £1 in my savings jar for every item that I use up. Pot 1 to 4 = £261. Pot 5=£23
Boots points:£39.21. Extra money in 2012:£674.59. In 2013 £603.48. 2014: £85. 2015: £0 :j0 -
Not decluttering per se, but bought a new towel rack for the bathroom to declutter towels off the floor where sprog seems to think they live. Also a free standing shelf thingy for all the half opened shower gels, soaps and shampoos we seem to have. At least if I can see them ALL, I shall hopefully buy less of them, lol.Illegitimi non carborundum.0

28. Pair of trainers into shoe recycling
29. DVD to sister
30. Pair of holey jeans given away to be used as rags
Flat is absolutely full of boxes in various stages of being packed for the move now. The huge mess has made me more determined to get rid of some things. Currently listing on Ebay. I joined a few local selling groups on FB, so will list some items on there tonight. Also got another bag to drop at charity shop tomorrow, on way to doctor appointment.0 -
Some good de-cluttering going on, your all putting me to shame
Sorted through my big drawer in the wardrobe with mainly tops/summer shorts & workout stuff, 4 tops in to the CS pile.
Side-board drawers in the kitchen to do, may have a go at these tonight.Christmas is the most magical time of the year :santa2:
Mum to two boys :heartpuls0 -
Found a nice sized box at Tesco today and have decanted the toy cars into it, ready to take to work tomorrow.
Also managed to do the shopping using a few bags from the HUUUGE stash that is falling out of the cupboard. I always forget to take them, even if they're in the back of the car!! I'm also taking a few to work as they give us tons of free fruit every day and if there's any left (there nearly always is a lot!) at the end of the day, I bring some home. (I did ask before anyone says I'm pilfering! They said so long as it's the end of the day then I'm not depriving anyone then yes, take some, it will only be thrown away).
The other thing I need to "declutter" is my food cupboards. I have a LOAD of things in there and I know that I keep buying more of the same when I go shopping - tins of beans, tomatoes, lentils, pasta. I know because the stacks are growing! I need to get a list on the inside of the door and cross things off until I get them down a bit. if I meal plan around what I have in it should cut my shopping bills too so, win-win! Should be able to start this on Thursday (my next day off) and hopefully get a good lot of the stuff in the garage ready for the charity shop guys to come and collect the following week.
I'm also decluttering any of Mr S's trouser contents!! Er.. I should explain that he always has a ton of change that drops all over the floor when he comes home. He's been warned enough times, leave it there and I will "steal it away". I've got a few of those savings tins that you have to open with a tin opener and it's all going in there, along with a pound or so each time I break a note for local shopping - from the change. I don't notice a pound here and there but I bet I will when the tin is full.
I'm feeling a bit low at the moment, it's that time of year, so this organising is making me feel a bit more in control.
Happy ridding everyone! Keep it up!Sealed Pot 5 number 15440 -
An unusual day today, but in between odd things happening:
- 45 cds & dvds packed and ready to send to Zapper
- 7 soft toys ready for primary school bazaar
- 1 soft toy and 2 pillow cases to fabric recycling
- 2 unopened toiletry items to bazaar bagI can cook and sew, make flowers grow.0 -
I am feeling really pleased today.
* I have managed to fit our fan in the living room into to the cupboard in the hallway after having spent a bit of time tidying up in the cupboard. The living room is looking so much better now.
* I have also sorted out various pieces which have been dumped on top of the living room cupboard.
* 2 unloved unopened chocolate bars will be given to a work colleague who I know loves this chocolate.
* A couple of old catalogues have gone in the recycling bin.No toiletries challenge, started 18/1/2010 - Putting £1 in my savings jar for every item that I use up. Pot 1 to 4 = £261. Pot 5=£23
