Seller appears on doorstep...

If I live in the area I may well hand deliver - usually I'd just do it, wouldn't check first, never been a problem. (Most of the items I sell would go through a letter box so no need to knock on the door. )So in my case this buyer would report me to ebay, prob leave negs etc - which would be a nightmare! Would rather not sell to people like that as it is a liability - could affect ratings etc and more trouble than its worth.0

the surprised op obviously did it in a manner to cause offence to a stranger, not in a welcoming manor. no matter what reason caller was there.
They stated somewhere what they said to him. Sure it wasn't offensive in any way. Reread the thread if you want to know as I can't be bothered with finding and quoting another reply. This thread is becoming just quotes of replies made by OP to answer your questions/comments that have already been answered. It's getting daft.a threat implys malicious intent, caller just stated a fact, that he would report op.
It is malicious to report a buyer for not doing anything wrong. The guy is stating he'll cause trouble for the buyer on ebay because...they opened the door and were surprised by who was stood there  The horror, certainly needs reporting *rolls eyes*
From the dictionary:
"Threat
1. An expression of an intention to inflict pain, injury, evil, or punishment.
2. An indication of impending danger or harm.
3. One that is regarded as a possible danger; a menace."
So for this situation his intention would be punishing the buyer by reporting them, therefore making it a threat.if op took parcel and then claimed no delivery, im sure caller would call again to asertain why;). so op is with holding why this particular call was not to her liking. only op knows this but its being with held
That didn't happen though. It was not to their liking because a guy showed up, yelled, left and they still had no parcel. Again, information is all there if you read through the thread.0 -
This thread just shows what a lot of nut jobs are out there no wonder buying and selling can be a nightmare.0

Why is that so hard for people to understand? What's wrong with wanting the service you should be getting and were expecting?
They paid for delivery and got it (well should have). I can't understand what the issue is. Hand delivery is still delivery - why would it need specified?
I'm out. I just don't understand the issue.0 -

The issue is that the seller asked the buyer a question and ignored the reply and proceeded to do something that was unacceptable to the buyer.
Hope that helps.0 -

but its not clear that the delivery person got the message not to deliver,
the door was knocked on
the door was opened
the buyer gets uppity with door knocker,
why would sellers rep go to the trouble to deliver and then just for no reason start abusing op, he can knock on any door in any street and do that if that was his game.
the op is with holding info and not being entirely truthfull, part of this story is missing from op. as we know there are 2 side to every tale, and op has be caught wanting.0 -

You might want to consider checking first before hand delivering. It's simple courtesy.
And, would you still come over and hand-deliver even if the seller told you not to? And would you get angry with them and threaten them if they were then upset that you had come over when they told you not to? If so, then you'd fully deserve any negative feedback that you got.
Your post above is a complete straw man, as you say that the OP would neg you in a very different situation from what actually happened. Only if you came over when they told you not to, and became angry with them when they called you on this, are the situations comparable.0
