did you manage to sort anything out today? I really hope so. You were right- I was speaking to Eurocamp not the sun people, but she still offered me an alternative date at duinrell after I said Duinrell was the only park we had wanted - so hoping they did the same for you.
Not yet. Still waiting to hear back from the Sun. I'll give them to the end of the day tomorrow, and will call them again if I haven't heard back from them by then.
The lady I spoke to from Eurocamp would not consider a different date, only a different park. As I have a son in senior school I can only go during the school holidays.
The person I spoke to from the Sun was quite adamant that they had checked with Eurocamp that spaces were available at the parks in the promotion for the dates in the promotion before they were included in the offer. He is therefore of the view that Eurocamp is at fault here.
When I spoke to the Sun they claimed to be unaware of any issues with the Eurocamp holidays, so I suggest that anyone having their holidays cancelled or changed also call the Sun to complain, so they are aware of the scale of the problem.
Fortunately I have travel insurance, but not too sure how a claim for the unused ferry and the Travelodge stay would be viewed :cool:Smiles are as perfect a gift as hugs...
..one size fits all... and nobody minds if you give it back.☆.。.:*・° Housework is so much easier without the clutter ☆.。.:*・°SPC No. 5180 -
I wonder why she just wouldn't offer you am alternative date??
So it seems the Sun are blaming Eurocamp and Eurocamp are blaming the Sun.
And us poor people are left out of pocket and for some
No holiday and v disappointed children!
I normally fight against these things but on this one I just feel it's
2 massive companies what chance is there for the individual!
What number is it to call the Sun? I only have the
Eurocamp one. Might as well let them know.0 -

Hi,
I thought for a while that I was the only one to have their holiday cancelled as no-one wrote anything for days after I initially said!
It's been a week now and Eurocamp haven't called me with an alternative as they said they would.
Have you got the number to complain to at The Sun please?
Thanks0 -

When queried, told only the first 4 days are free the rest need to be paid for, apparently because it's a seven night break I've booked 2 seperate holidays so only get the first one free...? Call to Trading Standards I think.
how do you work that one out ?0 -

I have the phone number for the Sun customer service line at work - will post it here when I get into work first thing in the morning. I think the more people that complain to them the better. Hopefully something will then be done for usSmiles are as perfect a gift as hugs...

I booked a holiday for the six of us for 4 nights. It said £15 per person per night, half board, entertainment card free, service charge free.
I paid and in the confirmation email it says a half board charge of £11.50 per person per day will be charged by the holiday park.
Absolutely gutted. There was no mention of the extra charge on the booking form.
The stay will cost £380 now!
Do distance selling regulations apply? Can I cancel or at least amend?
It's misrepresentation, and something should be done about it, I'm currently writing my complaint letter to the Bookings Manager, as well as getting in contact with Trading Standards - when I booked it said pay only £30 per person service charge - FREE, entertainment passes -FREE. When the confirmation came through, parc supplement had been added and I was told I hadn't booked one 7 night stay, I'd booked a 3 night and a 4 night that backed onto each other so only the 3 night stay had free service and entertainment. It's false advertising, which is illegal...0 -
I have just spoken to 'the sun' on 0844 5439790 (I advise you all to call and log complaints). The are aware of the situation and are waiting for Eurocamp to contact them regarding them cancelling everyone's holidays. The Sun will fight for us to have holidays reinstated as they have a contract with the company to uphold these bookings.
The Sun have logged me on the list and hope to have final solutions very soon of which they will then contact us.
Fingers crossed0 -

Good luck. It does seem to be more the fault of Eurocamp than the sun.
I got my confirmation this morning in the post for Dunirell for October. As expected the operater is eurocamp.
I had started to think there may be a problem considering all of you who have had problems for may bookings. I hope you get some redress. It really is not on!!0
