    I thought it was strange I hadn't received my confirmation yet for my duinrell booking and after reading your post had a feeling all wasn't good!
    phone call today to say overbooked and could offer me another date in another country!!
    I think I have managed to secure another date still at duinrell but def not in the half term as originally needed (waiting for confirmation call from the Sun in the am). The advisor has been v polite and helpful but still....!

    Very annoyed as have already booked my euro tunnel with Tesco clubcard vouchers for my original date and had spent 7 hours on the Saturday we all originally booked to ensure I had the best chance of getting Duinrell in a school holiday (I am a teacher).
    What's the point in offering it, if its never going to be there!!!

    will wait and see what happens tomorrow!

    I also received a call from Eurocamp today saying that there is no availability at Duinrell for the May mid term break and my booking will therefore not be honoured :mad:

    Am so so annoyed as I've paid nearly £300 for the ferry from Harwick to Hook van Holland, and paid for a Travelodge the night before as it is an early ferry. None of this is refundable.

    Eurocamp can only offer another park, but not in Holland and not a different date, and said that The Sun should not have confirmed the holidays as they are not confirmed until Eurocamp send out confirmation. They said call The Sun for a refund as it is nothing to do with them.

    I called The Sun, who said their records show that the holiday is confirmed, and no-one from Eurocamp has contacted them to say that there are issues. Therefore no refund forthcoming....

    After a chat with The Sun customer service team, they are going to look into it and get back to me, but say that the most I can hope for is a refund of the amount I paid to The Sun :mad:

    how awful! especially with regards to your ferry costs. who can afford to waste that kind of money. There is no comeback on any of this?
    I think my call was from The Sun rather than Eurocamp but now I am not sure?
    I would say surely a refund from The Sun has to be given as its their mess? I know that's not the solution as the holiday to Duinrell is what we wanted, but if they cant fulfil what we have written confirmation off they must refund?

    If you can go out of school holiday time why can Eurocamp not offer you another date at Duinrell? it doesn't make sense?

    Thanks *manda*. I have to say I've felt less nervous when booking a lot more expensive holidays abroad :) Managed to get my first choice of date and park - Parkdean Warmwell in a couple of weeks. Has anyone been? The reviews and photos on Trip Advisor vary from luxury to scary.

    . I'm assuming it's going to be eurocamp or key camp. We had our paperwork through on 1st feb last year for France from keycamp so something might well be amiss!

    We have not booked any travel yet specifically for this reason.
    Not sure whether to sit tight and wait a bit longer or contact the sun/eurocamp.

    Has anyone booked Dunirell for October half term, and have you had confirmation from eurocamp/ key camp?

    The T&C say you have to wait until the 21st Feb to hear something by. Thats what I was waiting for and hoping all would be ok- but then got that call yesterday .

    I have now managed to rearrange for the first May bank hol, with a small additional cost so thankfully wasnt as bad as has been for some.
    So far have only seen May half term affected, but tbh I have always had my confirmations through a lot quicker to.

    I suppose all you can do is wait- as frustrating as it is I know

    did you manage to sort anything out today? I really hope so. You were right- I was speaking to Eurocamp not the sun people, but she still offered me an alternative date at duinrell after I said Duinrell was the only park we had wanted - so hoping they did the same for you.
  • I've just picked up a message from Eurocamp and called them have been told the same thing- my Duinrell booking in May half term has been sold to someone else basically and they've decided they have no availability for us. I'm so angry and disappointed. The kids will be so gutted. I have also spent £150 on euro tunnel.
    I was not happy and as far as I'm concerned we were told by the sun our booking is confirmed and they should be taking this up with Eurocamp if they've messed up. So annoying cos if I didn't get this holiday through the Sun I was all set to pay £350 through Breakfree holidays but that's all sold out now too.
    Not happy!!!!!!
