I noticed that some people have managed to book May Half Term to Duinrell. I have tried last night and this morning and they have no availability going on the 23rd May - its so frustrating? I am wondering if our School Half term is a different date to others? The other problem is that have have then tried to book alternative destinations and cannot book any 7 day European trip on that date, I have tried them all in Brittany. Does anybody think that they will release any more dates. I have booked for May half term before for a week and had no problems? Any one had any problems / suggestions?:(
Ah, that's a shame! our May half term is may 23rd as well. Think you were just unluckly, and they get snapped up very
quickly.
When i was playing around with dates, i was offered 7nights in la croix du vieux point, and 7 at a brittany site.
We went for dunirell in the end for october, which was my first choice.
Dont give up. Sometimes they will load more dates and parks on to the system. Keep trying.0 -

I have been trying to book Duinrell for 3 years without success. It is very hard to get this much sought after park.
The downside is that the Sun ferry offers do not cover 23 and 24 May out of Dover or a return to the UK from Calais on 31 May, so I will need to find an alternative.
I highly suspect that the spaces available for the European parks is very limited. I was not able to get one at all in the Sun holiday promotions last year, although I did get to go to Paris, but that was booked the year before.
Good luck.
I'd look at ferry from Harwich to Hook of Holland if I was you.0 -

That is indeed the way I have been leaning
I'm thinking of an overnight on 22 May with a cabin and then an afternoon return on 31 May. We went with Stena Line the last time we went to Holland (not Duinrell) and booked a cabin on the return, which was lovely to have. Stena Line currently has a promotion on which saves £50 on the fare, but must be booked during January. Even without the overnight and cabin, the ferry is going to cost more than Duinrell :eek:Smiles are as perfect a gift as hugs...
..one size fits all... and nobody minds if you give it back.☆.。.:*・° Housework is so much easier without the clutter ☆.。.:*・°SPC No. 5180 -

The cheapest & easiest way I can find at the mo is Dover - Calais, then drive 3.5hr. Has anybody tried it that way??0 -

If you have tesco clubcard points you can use them to pay for a good chunk of the ferry. (stenna line) harwich ro hook of holland. We have done this a couple of times, and will probably do it again in october.
Otherwise, dover to dunkirk by dfds ferries can often be had fairly reasonably. We got a crossing for around £60 return year before last i think..
A longer drive the other side obviously.0 -

Yes done this. Calais or dunkirk work equally as well.0 -
I don't know if this is a common problem but I was trying to book a weekend in Butlins but I had to put four parks in. One of the four I put in just to fill the three other boxes was a Haven site and it was the only one coming up as available for the dates I was using. Once I changed the Haven park for a different park in my four, Butlins came up as available! So does it default to only show you Haven sites if you've selected one as an option?Don't listen to me, I'm no expert!0
