New week, new start for me! I've managed to do level one and the a little bit of level two. I need as much help as I can get to sort my home out into a tidy and clean little palace!

Manic Monday - Kitchen and Dining Room
    Level One

    [STRIKE]Clean floors
    [/STRIKE]
    Level Two
    [STRIKE]Clear and wipe kitchen surfaces
    [/STRIKE]
Clean cupboard door fronts and the front of appliances
Sort fridge bringing what needs using soon to the front
Wipe dining table (clean table cloth if necessary)
    Level Three
Dust any extra furniture in dining room, checking for cobwebs on way round
Wipe window sills, clean any marks off windows if required
Wash the washer drawer out if it's gunky
Clean oven if you didn’t do it last week
    Extra Mission:
    Choose one or more of:
    • Wipe the outside of all your small appliances (kettle, toaster etc)
    • Take a duster and wipe around the tops of your door frames – as many as you can manage in 5 minutes
    • Use a wire coat hanger and a duster to get down behind the radiator and get them bits you never normally reach
    • Clean under small appliances and bigger ones if you can manage it

    :jEvening everyone!

Pigpen - I hope you and yours are all safe and dry. It's appalling weather - I thought the showers were meant to be in April not flipping June!!

flying either before or after work but my system is to do the dailies before work, so at least they're done, then do what ever can be managed after work.

Thanks Grannynise that seems like the best idea.I did manage to get most of my dailies done before I left the house this morning but I was quite late back and am just finishing my dinner. I don't think I have the energy today :o
I'd certainly not be doing any after such a long day so I'd go before or actually not at all!
;):D Thanks DK - not at all seems like a good plan sometimes

I'd be getting up 15 minutes earlier and doing it before work if it was that important to me - or I'd be doing what I'm doing this work week - just getting done what I can, when I can

:DThanks Denise - getting up 15 minutes earlier !!{shudder}} - I think you're right and my mantra this week should be to get done what I can when I can.

I know I'm feeling guilty because last week I did very little as well - though my excuse was little ds' broken/plastered leg which is very good as excuses go. It doesn't help that I'm just coming out of "depression week" as dh calls it. I had post natal depression quite severly after ds and at AF time now I get a reoccurance of the symptoms. One of which is insomnia which is why I was up on here at silly o'clock a few days last week.

I think I'll write up some of my notes from work today and go to bed as my duvet's calling me. Have a good flying day tomorrow lovelies.xx

It flippin' is Dusty! have a look at the pics on here

    http://www.bbc.co.uk/southyorkshire/content/image_galleries/flooding_june_2007_gallery.shtml?14

No.14 is the closest of these to me although right here we are not in any imminent danger of flooding thank goodness. Just got internal flooding courtesy of the builders!!!

Anyway just spoken to a couple of friends on the phone, DS's godfather rang from Ipswch, saw the pic and wanted to make sure we were ok.

Hope everyone else is safe, warm and dry. Pigpen hope the waters have receeded from the door.

we have apparently had a months rain in the last 24 hours!!!

It's like nothing on earth here.. but at least we have electricity and our house is still safe... for the next 6 inches anyway lol.. I dread to think what it is like under the floor boards!!! We have a 4ft drop under there!

The water was receding.. about 1.5 inches judging by the water mark on the outside wall.. but it is pouring with rain again.

most of the city is under water, buses and trains are stopped, the schools are closed.. and most of the shops are flooded down here!!! I dread to think what level of damage will have been done by the morning.. I am seriously considering taking the pc upstairs tonight.. just in case!!

I didn't get any parcels posted today either so my ebay buyers will hate me some more.. the PO was flooded and closed!

Pray for sunshine tomorrow to clear it all !!

    Hiya Everyone!

We made it back in one piece, although only just. Like Pigpen, quite a few roads are closed around here, although luckily a bit further down the road from us. The one we drove home via is now shut, and i planned to go across to my mums tomorrow, but the village in the middle is impassable, and DH had a phone call to say his workplace was under a foot of water.

I've been good since i got in:
    • 2 bags of wet/muddy clothes emptied and sorted into piles
    • bags of leftover food put from hols put away
    • cool bags washed out and put away
    • ice blocks defrosted and put away
    • 5 loads through WM - 2 x towels, 1 x bibs, 1 x my jeans and darks, swimming cossies
    • airers emptied, bibs hung up
    • 2 loads of towels through TD, folded, sorted
    • trip to cattery to retrieve the boys. Only just managed to get them.
    • cat boxes and vaccination certificates put away
    • had leftover burgers from hols for tea with leftover salad
    • DH popped to shop and got milk and bread
    • emails checked, caught up a bit here
    • played with baby for a bit, fed and bathed him, and he collapsed at 6:15.
    • kitchen sort/wash up
    • baby bottles made up
Not bad really to say that we didn't get in till 2:30 pm and did all the car unloading/reloading in torrential rain.

Not sure what flying i will get done this week, other than sorting out all these clothes. There is probably another 6 loads, and an ironing pile from hell. Can't even put them upstairs out of the way as they are muddy/wet things from all our bike rides/walks.

I'm feeling rather energetic and motivated though, so i'll see how it goes.

I'm glad to be back - almost put money in one of the computers on hols for internet access, but thought it a bit sad really that i am that addicted so i resisted. ;)

I'm still up, waayyy past my bedtime but I'm still waiting for the *beeping* BM to beep at me. Hobnobs all choc'd up, camera cleaned up with my new toy. £7 card reader in Mr T's tonight. Very little else done flywise.

Welcome back Michelle, what a thing to come home to though. I've been watching on the news and thinking of you Yorkshire/Humberside lot, its awful. Stay safe.
Shirleypark, that's a proper little rat family you've got there now! Maybe she was just hoping someone like you would take them in and love them.
HopeElizzy, AF time? I get the gist but what does that translate to? Guessing you're a health professional.
LowRob, welcome to the thread! Hope you find it useful.

    There, I've beeped.
Hope tomorrow is better for you. See you Wednesday eve with a bit of luck.

Right, website uploaded although it still needs alot of work on the history & photo-album & "virtual tour" but I'm getting there slowly ;) Much easier to know where things are on the site now as well :rotfl:

Just off to have a look at those flood pictures and then I'm going to bed. Will crack on with my list tomorrow.

  • I hope for everyone who is currently suffering due to the rain that it stops soon. Heard from one of my friends who has a house in Hull that her house is flooded, her tenant is away and they can't get to the house because all the roads are closed, and they are back home in Cardiff !!

Welcome to all the new comers this week, hopefully you'll find this thread useful in getting on top of the housework. It's certainly worked for me, the house is definately a lot cleaner and tidier than it was before.
