    Morning everyone,

Thankfully i have got up to no rain at the minute. Most of the local schools are shut so the kids are out playing footie and enjoying themselves. We are so lucky we are also not in danger from the reservoir, but DH has decided to work from home as the route is either flooded or chocka, plus, if the reservoir goes he would never get home. I'm going to go shopping early, as i am thinking that possibly lorries won't be travelling around restocking the shelves, and we have very little in apart from dried stuff.

Can't moan though, as life is far worse for many other people at the minute.

Small list for me today. Charlie is actually enjoying playing at home, so i will see if i can achieve anything else off the proper list but this is my plan.

    Tuesday 26/6:
    Deal with post
    Make baby bottles
Relist stuff to sell on amazon
Go and do a food shop
    Post rental DVD back
    Make some baby meals
    Wash at least 2 loads
    Wash my hair
Do some ironing (10 items at least)
Rescue towels from TD and fold/put away
    Make a dentist appointment
    Wrap friends baby pressie

I was convinced Charlie would be really grumpy after being the center of attention all week, but he is enjoying the toys he hasn't seen all week.

Anyway, best get dressed and get on a bit. See you all later

Back from school run - DS3 tried to come out in sympathy croaking I have a sore throat. It does look a bit red and he has swollen glands but he had been fine until I told him I had a sore throat so just asked teacher to keep an eye on him.

Doing a list and will see how I go:

School is cancelled here because the teachers can't get in so DD is really pleased :D But we can't get out of the village either at the moment due to most routes being flooded!

Just rung MIL, they are ok and sitting tight.

    Hope everyone else is safe

    Debt-free and Proud!
    Morning everyone,

Hope you all stay dry and no more rain falls. I just keep thinking of all those poor people whose houses are flooded, they'll need more than the flylady to get them back on track:eek: .

Dusty - sorry you are feeling poorly too sick0026.gif. I'm feeling a bit better today but it is an easy day flying-wise. I only have the lounge to do and it is tidy just needs a polish and hoover so may wash some of the sofa covers if the rain keeps off. We have high winds so it should dry well.

I've got to stay in and wait for a delivery so I'll just mooch around and amuse DS2. Spoke too soon it is already raining again.

    Keep flying, not floating.

  • Both DSs at nursery this morning thanks to my uber-generous and kind sister-in-law who is footing the bill to give me a bit of breathing space. Feel totally rubbish and inadequate but am just going to print out yesterday's and today's list (breaking the rules I know - but these are exceptional times!) and get my pinny on and start scrubbing. Will also do battle with the wind and hang some washing out as it has actually stopped raining - no danger of flooding as we are halfway up a hill/mountain - so there is good news in the HAHWMB household after all!!
    Is it home time yet?

The water has returned back to the river lol.. well.. most has.. the avenue is still pretty much under water but we have a clear footpath outside our house and.. most importantly it has stopped effing raining!! lol.

Every school in the city is closed.. mainly because teachers can't get in as a lot of the surrounding areas are still flooded.

In one of the pics (the one with the man surfing) under the bridge you can just see the roof of an abandoned car under the railway bridge!! it is white.. lol My sister lives just the other side of that bridge!

We are actually quite lucky.. a lot of the houses here were flooded, we must be one of the highest houses in this area.. my mother lives the next street up and can't even flush her loo because it pumps straight into her back yard!!

Rigth... off to paddle up to shop and post office.. see you in a bit!

    Morning,
I needed to know that no-one was under water and you were all ok so I'm just being a little naughty and popped on to see what you're all up to while I have a tea break at work. I managed to do all my dailies before I left this morning and even made some bean burgers which will do for dinner. So, I feel ok about the fact I may not get anything else done when I arrive home tonight.

Well.. as I have the children at home today they can earn their keep!!! I'll have them clear the front room and back room so I can vacuum and clean them both.. the kitchen is looking a bit nicer now the floor is clear. I have the worksurfaces to do today though.. but the DW and WM are loaded.. the DW should be ok as the drain for that is higher.. but the WM will pump straight into the standing floodwater.. oh well!! The water has dropped about 3 inches from last night which is not bad going and has made a huge difference in the street.

I will go to the PO later this afternoon when it has had time to retreat further.

Front lawn cut (did the back on Sunday before the rain)

One load of washing done, hung out and got back in again. Might try again later if the rain stays off.

Living room vacuumed, that's it today.

    Shopping delivered and put away.
