witchypoo - I hate having workmen in the house too. We need our bathroom replaced (it works but it's very shabby and about 40 years old) and we have got the money but I just can't face it.
  • Hev - its a good job I don't drink anymore and an even better one that you don't live nearby (no offence intended!)... I don't think the world would be able to cope.
Well done on the Coke! Just keep thinking of those yummy yummy teabags....

    Morning all

Stressed about the trip now. Another mum (who is a teacher and used to work in London) was due to help. She told me this morning her and her son are not going. She spoke to a governor at our school who dismissed it and said the trip would go ahead.
I don't know what to do? Thinking of starting a thread asking for advise but thought I'd see what you lot think first. Governors and teachers out there what do you think?

Did not go to the JL sale yesterday so popping down there now. I need a spare mattress topper - teenager boy (pigpen) this is new to me!!!

    Back soon xx

  • AnWsmum- I THINK i'm getting it - but just to make it absolutely clear for a dimwit like me - I take it that not ALL the bottles have water in them? Our fete is on 21 July and I'm still trying to think of unusual tricks - bless us: we have our heart set on raising £500!

Dusty.. get him condoms and tell him to do it in there.. it saves sleeping in wet patches!! ;) .. Failing that an old sheet or blanket should do for the time being under his sheet.

Re the trip dusty.. if it is still on then yes I would go.. the chances of another nutter trying something similar in the same spot now is probably less likely than ever before.. you nkow like they say lightening doesn't strike the same spot twice.. (I know it does but it is extremely rare).. but yes I'd go.. why let these psychopaths dictate to us how we can live our lives.. this is what they intend.. to create panic and disruption.. I wouldn't give in to it.

Mr Salmond and Justice Secretary Kenny MacAskill took part in the Cobra meeting.
Mr Salmond echoed the prime minister's calls for vigilance. "We cannot and must not live our lives in a state of alarm but alert individuals have a substantial role to play in supporting our police services," he added.

Hev sorry but I couldn't stop laughing you tell such a good story :) just sorry that it has taken so long to get your shoulder right.

HAHWMB you're right not all the bottles have water in, we did a ratio of 3 bottles of water to 1 of wine all wrapped up. It is a great money spinner just so long as enough people contribute bottles of wine and not just empties to the cause ;) If you decide to go ahead them PM me your email addy and I'll send you the posters we did so you can just print them out. Plus if you do go ahead raid everyone's recycling boxes for empties (screw top ones are easiest). We put insulation tape round the top of each water bottle so it was easier to tell once the paper was ripped off which were which. The water bottles we keep to rewrap for the Christmas fair so it does get easier to organise each time. HTH

Dusty was wondering why re the matress topper until I read pigpen's response! DS is only 4 and the worst he get's up to in 'that' dept is when he sits there with his hand down his trousers and then says after fiddling 'mummy it's broken, kiss it better'!!!!!!!!!!:rotfl:

Dusty I agree, best time to visit as there will be extra police patrols in that area and they ain't going to try the same trick in the same place so soon.
