solway.. I am mispending my 'grown-up' years.. this way I'm not answerable to my parents!!!! lol I never had any fun in my 'youth' either.. due to having DS1 at 17.. but by the time I am 40 these will be pretty much independant.. or rather.. less dependant.. so I'll have even more fun then!!
Oh.. re the shoes.. I told hubby how much I had saved buying shoes.. I love sales.. then I told him how many pairs I had bought.. lol... he said he doesn't care so long as there are no animl print ones... I said there aren't.. if you don't count the zebra ones lol!!
my mum and dad did this - they were 16 when they had me - the best thing for them is that i used to do lots of babysitting!!!! and now they go out more than me because they are only 51 and are having a misspent adult hood too! i had my first when i was 30 - oh my god pigpen think you are younger than me (just) and you look fantastic after having 8 children :rotfl: i have £250 saved towards a challenge am doing with pania - perhaps i'll use it for botox and liposuction
hope everyone is ok, have v tidy downstairs and nice new outfit for a wedding - but then sat on m5 for 3 hours when it only took me hour and half to get to cribbs causeway!

ooh you've all been busy.
hev - don't do what I did, I stopped drinking diet coke when I heard about what coke did in colombia, and now I'm just as much addicted to pepsi max. You should find that after a couple of days of cold turkey the caffeine withdrawl symptoms go away. Having given up a couple of years ago, I think the withdrawl symptoms are putting me off giving up the pepsi max.
lil_me I'm watching casualty too, this evening I've done not a lot other than watch tv - doctor who weakest link, doctor who and now casualty. Maybe at the end of this I'll actually get off the sofa and do something !
pigpen - those nails are great.
vastsarah - welcome, hope you find this thread useful.

Bless you scaredy.. my oldest is 16.. can you add up??? lol
Solway.. my parents were both 20 when I was born.. though they had my sister the year before (she died at 31 days old hence me!)... I was too tiny to be a child of the 70's dentistry though.. apart from having a mortal fear of dentists and face masks caused by being held down by 6 adults so they could use the gas mask to anaesthetise me for an extraction when I was 6.
Lil_me.. you can always come do smoe catching up with me.. I REALLY need a friend to go out with.. it gets a bit draining going out with my mother!
right off to beat hubby to the shower!!!!

Evening all.
Just done my ironing whilst watching the news. DS2 is due to go a school trip to London - right by where the car was found - on Monday, I am due to go with him thankfully (or not) but wonder if it will be cancelled?
The pots from the lottie were fab, you can really taste the difference and the kids thought they were divine. OH really like the broad beans and I love the dessert gosgogs which I scrumped from the plot next door - they wont mind - they are in France for a month so they would rot and I did pull up a couple of huge weeds for them:D
Did a good little Tesco coupon shop tonight as I don't like Dr Who. DS! and 2 exhaused, they played tennis for 6 and a half hours on just a packet of chocolate chip cookie silly devils.
Time for a quick catch up on some other threads and the second half of the uniform to wash xxThe birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair0 -
Right my teles now on the blink, only got Sky as the aeriels somewhere laid on the roof. Internet playing up aswell, bloomin' weather, but suppose got to count myself lucky, think people at the top of the hill are getting flooded however weird that may seem as it comes off the fields and straight into their houses. I can HEAR it with all the windows shut, the bottom step on my house is underwater, another 6 to go before it gets me however, **blows raspberry at the water** (whilst touching wood just incase!!)
DFW is the Debt Free Wannabe board, they used to always have partiesseems they have gone boring.
Dusty- I would check about the trip still being on, with all the last few days events I would be unsure myself about going

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/scotland/6257194.stm no it wasn't my Jeep been asked that already!
I'm considering signing up for a local response team with the Jeep, I know they have done a LOT of work in Hull and surrounding areas they've even been having to call them to help with being patrol cars for the police. Basically means being on call incase of any emergencies where they need 4x4 vehicles. People don't realise when slating 4x4 owners that sometimes they are very important. In one night one man was patrol car for the police, recovered stranded cars with people in them, several elderly people rescued from homes etc.
Pigpen if I lived closer and had any form of childcare I would be tempted!!
DP under STRICT instructions to turn down any jobs where it'll be dangerous to get to and from!!! He said the river is very high, loads of places flooded but good for him in a way as noone wants to walk anywhere in this. One day I might be more organised...........

Evening again.
Looks like i might catch the tail end of your party. :j I've had quite a few tia maria's and lemonade, and have now had to switchto diet coke (MIL's leftover xmas stuff) so i think i will make this my last one before a bath, and taking the 1st harry potter with me to bed. It takes the edge off watching the critters though. :rotfl:
Just watching the news (how grown up am i) with the car on fire at glasgow airport. I hate it when this stuff happens. Makes me really worry about the in-laws, and what might happen in the world next. All too maudling for me particularly on a saturday night.
Spent over an hour grooming the boys who are still lousy, so back out they go and i will deal with it better tomorrow. I've arranged for my ma to have Charlie, so i will be able to have a full house gut and spray with not much worry.
You know he's a monkey when you are sat on the loo and he is trying to climb up your legs to reach the toilet block holder clip that he can see round the edge of the loo. And i can't distract him either - might have to swap to an in the cistern one. :rotfl: So he would definitely stick the spray in his mouth and think he was helping.
Anyway, just wrote a big long list of things i will do tomorrow, which i won't bother to post now - will do that in the morning as it is long and it might spoil my sleep. I'm feeling like it is my fault a bit. If i were more organised i would have changed their flea collars before they went to the cattery, and i wouldn't have so much crap all over the place to move before it gets infested. doesn't help the long hours Nick is working at the moment though. as the furniture is so heavy and i can't move it all myself and watch charlie.
Just had about an hour's whinge on the phone to my mum about the state of the house and the garden. don't think i will lighten my mood until i see some progress on this situation.
Sorry - quite deep for a saturday night.
Anyway, time for either a drink top up or a bath. (only in the interests of decluttering either a booze bottle into the recycling or some bubbles used up. )
Michelle, x0 -
It's getting very windy here (Cheshire) and one of our trees has blown over in the garden. It's only a small one and not done any harm so not too concerned. I managed a walk earlier on with the dog so feeling pleased with myself! We're off to see Shrek 3 tomorrow which the children are really looking forward to.
DD is on a residential trip with school on Monday. It's nowhere near a big city so i'm only really worried due to the bad weather. Think i'll go and buy her some water proofs tomorrow though she'll probably forget to put them on.
Michelle - it's years since i've had tia maria. Taken me right back! Used to love it with baileys, those were the days, lol.January budget
Nothing left!0
