not had it with baileys for years. Got really drunk on it on my 20th birthday and then had to go to my part time job at a fish and chip shop. I never worked so hard as that night, and drank so much water to sober up before the boss came at 1 am. :D I was up ladders cleaning kitchen tiles, and scrubbed the whole shop clean. Obviously where my flylady tendencies appeared from!!!

Always have a bottle of it in cos it is my mums favourite tipple so we used to get given it as teenagers and me and my sisters still love it. (Mums only 47)

pigpen are you saying you are 31?? If so, can't believe you have 8 kids at that age, although i know someone in the same boat, so i don't know where my surprise comes from. Gosh!! And i still feel like a kid most of the time at 28, despite now having Charlie and being a teacher for the past 5 years. So much self doubt, god knows why :confused:my maths is awful tonight - that should be 33 shouldn't it. Still blinking young to have 8 kids. I'dlike to have 3 by that age

Oh Michelle I am one who has seen many incidents with rim blocks, definately go for a cistern one now little guy is on his feet! My friends little girl ate the filling from a rim block, my son pulled ours out and stained the carpet. Haven't bought a rim block since!! Pleased you've managed to get the little fella look after so you can do the house, I think it will be more reassuring for you.

LJD1 I thought there was only me and my sister drank Tia Maria and Baileys together, lovely isn't it! I actually think somewhere there are unopened bottles of both. Hope the cinema goes ok, would love to go and see that but just haven't had the time or energy lately.

Tele is back on, wooohoooo but I've got to design some forms and things for DP
One day I might be more organised...........

Don't like the thought of him eating it, not that bothered if it stains the carpet, although we don't want to do the bathroom until after mark 2 arrives. :D

Think Mum is unprepared for Charlie's visit as she has lots of expensive ornaments at arms reach and doesn't believe in moving them for children cos we never touched them as children. I did warn her about his sniper skills, but she will see for herself tomorrow. I will take him over and stay for an hour or so anyway to check he is ok.

DH won't be in till about 5am anyway from 8am this morning, so i don't think he will be up early for cleaning duty. As it is quite warm though i will have to set too it early before i end up with a huge problem.

Are we the only career widows this evening then lil-me? Off to bed soon though or i won't feel like getting up in the morning. Probably won't anyway after drinking.

:rotfl: I remember when visiting my parents when they were together Mam used to say she wanted a magic string to pull when the grandchildren arrived (they are 9,8,6 and 4 now so all close together) which magically removed all ornaments etc up a height until they had gone. If I bought her an ornament I used to get them from H Samuels so I could pay extra for the insurance incase my kids broke it :rotfl: My neice was pretty good and didn't touch much but DS1 liked anything shiney and DS2 was a sod for wires, actually he still is!

Yep might be the only 'career widows' left up, I'm sort of his on call moan line tonight as he seems a bit fed up which I think he's got some cheek to be, he only works 3 nights a week usually but has got so used to the time off he is fed up by Saturday night and can't be bothered to work:rolleyes: !

Oh forgot we're at diggerland tomorrow, that'll be fun if this rain keeps up, will have to add 'find wellies' on the list. I am unsure if DS2 has some that fit, might have to put his motox boots on instead. Saying that it was quite wet last year and we still had fun, going with the support group so a right mix of people :)

Can't believe it is morning already. Dh woke me when he got into bed at 5:50, and i couldn't drop back off. Not feeling too hungover, just a bit dehydrated, so sat with a pint of water and a tea.

Just put last nights washing up away, and i am choosing to ignore the very soggy black cat sat on the door step.

list for today looks something like this:
    Sunday 1/07:
Sort stuff out for Charlie for the day
Take Charlie to mums to be babysat while we do the ‘clean up’
    Clean kitchen sink
Put cat bedding somewhere not upstairs to dry
Put baby car seat and buggy covers in WM
    Clean kitchen window sill
Clean glass in window and back door
Clean back door upvc on inside
    Clean kitchen bench
    Wipe round all small appliances
    Clean 2 kitchen tables
Pull out fridge, freezer, cooker and washer to clean behind
    Flea spray under appliances
    Clean skirting boards
Put any plastic/cardboard recycling out in the boxes
    Hoover kitchen carpet
    Flea spray rest of kitchen
    Later, vax kitchen carpet
Hoover living room/dining room including under all furniture, plus cat scratching post
    Wipe skirting boards
    Spray skirting boards
    Spray living room rug
    Mop laminate floor
    Vax the living room rug
Look through toy box, checking soft toys for fleas
Wipe all hard toys and wash the plastic toy box
    Spray both sets of curtains
Thoroughly wash the dining room table after dealing with all carp on it
Clean both window sills and the insides of the windows
    Chicken curry for dinner
Finish shredding paperwork, and then empty shredder
Spend time grooming both cats to check state of play
    Hoover hallway and stairs
    Hoover landing
    Hoover bedrooms
    Hoover bathroom
    Clean bath/toilet/sink
    Wash towels
Rescue bedding from TD/fold and put away
    Dust our room and Charlies
Try and do some of ironing
Try and find out what I owe sister for trip next week – transfer to her via internet banking
    All washing up/evening kitchen sort
    Make baby bottles
    Unpack rest of clean clothes
Check airers for dry clothes, take off and fold/put away
    Hang up wet clothes

and i'm sure i can probably think of more to add to it once i get going. One thing is for sure, DH can do at least half of it and pull his weight. I've been trying to sort the problem for the past few days solo. I know he's been at work but fair is fair.

Can hear Charlie starting to stir upstairs, but he won't know i am up, so i am going to have my tea in peace and then start the day.

    Morning!
I ended up having a bit of a texting party with folks that were out, it did the job and I spent no money. Bonus!
Fatcat has finally sussed the catflap idea so I'm happy now.

Today I want to finish off jobs from this week so I can start Mondays list properly. I'd like to see the bottom of the laundry basket but I can't get stuff dry and the 5 day forcast is rain all the way. Maybe I'll have a trip to Primark for some new work clothes..

    Ironing
    Bread to make
    Use up manky bananas
Meal plan still to do - out for tea 2 nights this week should be easy.
    Finish the pantry reshuffle
Work out if I can fix a brake light on the car myself
Anything else that comes to light along the way

Enjoy diggerland Lil_me, I've heard its fun for grown-ups too. Michelle, its just off the A1 near Consett, Beamish Museum is close by too for those who don't fancy muddy stuff.
There, Solway's tourist guide to the North East.

Have a good day, stay dry, stay happy.

    Morning everyone

I was in my PJ's early but I missed the party cause DD and I were laid on our bed playing with the Shrek Top Trumps that she won yesterday and neither of us could be bothered to get back up so she could go to her bed! So we were all in bed and fast asleep by about 9.40!

The fair raised about £1800 which is great considering we had to hold it inside.
What is a water stall? Do you actually make any money on it? I'm tee-total and even I can't see the appeal of it!

This stall made £118, it's one of the most popular stalls and so easy to do. The hard bit is gathering the empty bottles to refill with water, but we do our best :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:All the bottles are wrapped in paper, the punter pays £1 and chooses a bottle and unwraps. For some reason they don't want to take the water lol

http://www.diggerland.com/index.htm info on Diggerland Michelle, our DS would love this as well, we were too far away from the one in Devon and he was a tad on the young side at the time. There is one in Castleford.

Going to try and get some ironing done today after finding the lounge floor under all DD and DS's prizes have been moved.

Better renew the house insurance first though, started doing quotes a couple of weeks ago and got fed up, suddenly realised this morning 'it's 1st July oops the HI has run out'

    Catch you later

    Morning all

Put yesterday's washing away. Not doing any today - feels really weird - DD is on holiday and there isn't enough for a load!

Vacuumed through downstairs, the kitchen floor looked like the cats had been having a wrestling match.....not sure which one won.

    Oven on to start roast.

I had some leftover advocaat and lemonade last night - was a nice change. Watched Doctor Who, Casualty (whilst videoing dr who confidential on bbc3), Jekkyl and Would I Lie to You, then off to bed/pc and went to bed at 00:30.

Been a bit unproductive this weekend, hubby is doing yesterday's washing up as I type and I'm sat here listening to the Archers' Omnibus. I had intended to get on with the leftover bits of my lists over the weekend but all I have really managed is the daily bits like laundry - yesterday we had rain all day in Devon but thankfully no flooding in our part. It's sunny now with grey skies.

My brother and his girlfriend got engaged a week ago and just Friday announced they are going to rush the wedding forward as her Visa has just been refused  they only started going out last year and it's not officially their first anniversary till August. I'm hoping things go smoothly for them and I hope he's doing the right thing. She is very sweet and it's not like they are teenagers - she's late 30's and he's late 20's. It's all extra worry for my parents though, who have just been through one hell of a depression episode with my mum who is bipolar. It was the first episode since her diagnosis at New Year and took months to get the right drugs built up in her system and her seeming back to normal if a bit low on confidence, I'm hoping she is strong enough now to not get distressed over this wedding business.

I've really got to get this house sorted out. It'll be cleaned more regularly than it used to so that's a great start, next we desperately need a new Boiler and a new loo, and our bathroom sink hot tap needs looking at as the washer has gone and we can't unscrew it to replace it - so every time we need water we have to turn on the mains and turn it off when finished. I'll be glad to be able to have hot showers instead of lukewarm baths with kettle top ups. I'll feel better about having a plumber in the bathroom soon, maybe I will get over my nerves about having workmen in the house and actually ring one this week.

I hope everyone's domestic concerns get sorted quickly. We've just found our cats have brought fleas home too, so I am off to order some treatment online for them and the carpets. So I can sympathise cha97michelle. Best of luck with operation deflea :)

Hev .. I have to ask too.. hw on earth do you manage to dislocate BOTH shoulders???

Fell on a double glazing salesman.

Actually, the long and less colourful version. The salesman had just quoted £750 for one small window and was an idiot. He was going down stairs and I and DH were following. I fell and grabbed hold of the door frame at the bottom of the stairs rather than fall on someone half my size and both shoulders went. It hurt - a lot! The salesman went a very funny colour and we didn't get any follow up calls :rotfl:

Nothing is ever that simple. The ambulance people who came didn't believe I had done both shoulders, because no-one ever dislocates both shoulders. One of the ambulance people had a severe allergy to cats, and at the time I had three really stressed cats rubbing up against everyone. She was in a worse state than I was when I got to the ambulance.

No-one believed that I had done both shoulders so I walked round for three hours with my arms just hanging. Can't blame them too much - the old doctor who retired the week after seeing me (absolute coincidence) had in all his years only seen three cases where both shoulders go! It took three years to get the right shoulder fixed. Dislocated my left shoulder 2005 and it was fine within about three weeks.

Less interesting than it sounds. What I have got up to without injuring myself is another matter :p

    Still no diet coke.
