Anyway, enough of me. I've noticed that there are a few folks missing that posted regularly - becca, mumoftwo, tartan mum, traceyg. Did i miss something while away? Anyone know where they are?

I am still here, thank you for asking though!! I read most days, you are all doing so well, I have tried to keep up with the lists, some days are better than others, I get down and then I just sit and do no housework or get inspiration for cardmaking or scrapbooking and still don't do any housework, the dishes are getting on my nerves, I really want a dishwasher. The weather is terrible and can't hang washing out, hate using the tumble dryer in the summer (what summer?) no room for an indoor drying rack. As for my sister, Becca, I know she has been extremely busy with extra work and the 5 kids and writing her third book.

Kids finish school at 12 noon today for the lovely 6 weeks holiday!!!
I love not having to set the alarm but hate the bickering... love spending time with them but hate the bickering they do with eachother or the question: what are we doing today?

I am planning to make a list with jobs that I want doing this holiday like:

sort out their memory boxes (with all their baby toys/clothes first school books etc)

    clean out garage

keep inside of the car tidy

everyday chores like washing dusting etc and getting them involved with rewards to cinema/park, playing tennis etc.

Hope you all feel loved and hugged :grouphug:

The street next to ours which we always walk down on the way too and from school every house was flooded and they all had bags of rubbish and broken appliances and ruined carpets outside yesterday which I think made her realise just how close to home it actually was. I did try to expain to her that the drain right outside their house was broken and the land their houses is built on is lower than ours and they don't have doorsteps so the water went straight in but I think it was all just a bit much for her to understand. She was also really concerned because her school bag and cardigan both of which she had left at school when it was closed on Monday were soaking wet when we collected them yesterday she will be after building an ark next lol

Bottled water is a very good point, as is the candles and batteries. I've just realised our torch is missing (usually DS2 pinches them and takes them apart) so will see if I can get one today. I also have ran out of eggs and a few other things. Right time to do shopping list and go shopping before DP gets up I think :)

Esther nice to hear from you, I forgot about the Scottish schools finishing this week actually, ours have a couple of weeks left. I'm actually looking forward to the holidays aswell :o seems silly but apart from when the start bickering etc I love them being at home and miss them when they are at school. Oh yes and I DON'T miss the morning dash! Make sure Becca knows we're asking how she is etc but sounds like she is very busy.

Aww Pigpen no wonder she's anxious, hopefully it'll all be over soon and she can stop having that worry.
One day I might be more organised...........

Nice to see you around. I had a sudden thought your mum might be bad again.

Becca writes books - how exciting. I'd love to do that in a few years. Ideally i'd be the next JK Rowling and earns millions. :rotfl:

Just a thought for the hols - flylady does a 'camp gonna wanna fly' where they do housework chores with the kids and fun things too. I got loads of emails about it last year, don't think i took too much notice though as i didn't have charlie at the time, but it may give you some ideas to keep your little ones entertained.

Pigpen - I hope your little girl is okay. I hope going to school will help calm her down.

Well, the line of washing that went out really early came in really early because of the rain  I am wondering about taking DS for a walk between showers - he could do with the fresh air. And I have been a complete wuss and watched him watch TV (and nearly get the bin again) this morning. I need to toughen up!

I can see me turning into one of those worrying mums that are always stressing their children out. He didn't want any breakfast - the nice orange sunshine cereal that he wolfed down a few days ago was 'Gak!' But he didn't want milk either, is full of beans so I am not stressing (or trying not to - who am I kidding ).

Well, I am going to print off today's list and cross through manually as I go. I have already hoovered enough cat hair off the stairs to knit a new one, and I am feeling positive.

It is really lovely reading this thread. I hope I can be as determined as pigpen, and I hope newmrslockwood continues to dodge the psycho.

    Morning all

Stripped DD's bed today and that is washed, dried and folded. Another load of washing done too and some of that is already dry.

Vacuumed right through downstairs, dusted living room.

Off to see if any more washing is dry - I don't really trust the weather.

    Hi everyone,

list going well but still need to hoover, waiting for delivery first in case I don't hear the door.

Sorry to hear about various illnesses, wishing better health to all.

Well done Pigpen - you are doing great with the DFW, - a great inspiration.

Hev - like the new sig - I remember speaking to a chap a few years ago, his BIL had just had op to put a net around what remainder of his liver to give it chance to regenerate. He had never drunk alcohol, tea or coffee. The thing that had caused such terrible liver disease was diet coca cola  . So, here's to many coke free days.
