    Morning all,

Just caught up with the thread. It again amazes me how supportive we all are to each other.

lil-me fully understand why you are teetotal now. Just not worth taking risks once you have kids.

I too have symptoms of IBS, which DH wants me to go to the drs about, but it is mainly when we are away, so i justify it as change of diet when we are with other people like his parents who don't eat as many different veggies as us but eat more berries, citrus and salad. I hardly went at all while we were away, and then i feel ill and bloated. I probably should go to the drs, but i think i need to get more healthy myself first as we ate and drank far too muh while away.

Anyway, enough of me. I've noticed that there are a few folks missing that posted regularly - becca, mumoftwo, tartan mum, traceyg. Did i miss something while away? Anyone know where they are?

Looks like it might be a good day with Charlie, he has just sat on the floor and watched Thomas, now he's pulling out all his toys. Not too clingy or mardy so i might be able to get on. ;)

Here's my list, and at some point i want to look at the main list and see what i have managed this week, other than almost do all of the holiday washing. ;)

    Friday 29/6:
    [strike]Strip our bed and cot[/strike]
    [STRIKE]Wash all bedding[/STRIKE]
    Dry bedding in TD now
    Hoover mattresses
    Remake both beds cot done
    [strike]Bin and recycling box out[/strike]
Wrap Finlay’s birthday pressie and write card
    Unpack rest of clean clothes
Do some ironing (10 items at least)
    Make a dentist appointment
    Wrap friends baby pressie
Make a shopping list for internet order
    File away old paper work
    Shred pile that I sorted
Make a meal plan for July
    [strike]Transmit shop and scan data[/strike]
    Make baby bottles
[STRIKE]Make pizza dough[/STRIKE] in on timer to be ready for 7pm
Make pizza for dinner with leftover chicken
    Bin and recycling box in
    Wash my hair

    Extras:
    • wash one load of DH's stuff
    • wash one load of darks
    • empty all airers
    • pack a box of too small baby clothes, start sorting another box of too small clothes to go in loft for mark 2
    • emptied all stuff on shelf on coffee table that i care that charlie grabs. I've finally got fed up of grabbing it all at least once every half hour, so i need to find a new home for it all as its currently on the living room chair
    • finally put away charlie's clean clothes from hols - just mine to do now
    • wiped sides in kitchen
    • cleaned top of kitchen bin

    Not much then

    Michelle, x

Morning all :hello: Wet and soggy here again  Very tired so having another cup of coffee since OH had to wake me up *cough* at 6.15 when he woke up ;) He ended up going for a cold bath this morning as I managed to get in the bath before him and ran all the hot water off though - so I got my revenge :rotfl::rotfl: Don't think he'll be waking me that early again fallenhalo.gif

grannynise - bighug.gif We have our full governor meetings in the afternoon during school hours, usually starting around 2pm so in theory they should be finished by 3.15pm but the new headmaster can talk the hind legs off a donkey :rotfl: He's a lovely man though and a great laugh, although mild-smut is starting to creep in occasionally but the meetings are alot more fun and seem to go quicker :rotfl::rotfl: Mind you we're a primary school and alot of our governors are older/pensioners and quite a few have been governors for 15+ (some 20+) years  or are teachers anyway  Mind you my first governors meeting I didn't even know was happening - they changed the time/date and forgot to tell me as I'd only been accepted the previous week  Meeting started at 2pm and I got a phonecall at 2.15 asking where I was  Oh and I agree with Lil_me I'd send a letter out to all the governors as well devlish.gif Put them in their place, they may be "the management" but it's not fair on you or the ones who turned up!

Lil-me - bighug.gif sounds similar to what my SIL's finace has the unknown problems. He's been really ill for over a year now and they still don't know what's up with him. He's lost loads of weight and EVERYTHING makes him ill  Seeing what it's done/doing to him I'm amazed at what you manage to do especially since you have a family as well :T:T

hev - NO GUILT TRIPS... leaving DS to play on his own for a while is good for him in my opinion. ;) I did it with DD alot as the bathroom & kitchen used to take so long to clean in our old house I had no choice! It will help him become independant which you'll be grateful of when he's older IMO. The other thing I used to do at nap time if DD wouldn't settle was put her in her buggy infront of cbeebies with subtitles on - she got to hear the words and see the words and now at the age of 6 she has a reading age of 11 ;) A little bit of a "bad thing" is good for kids, you just need to not do it all the time ;) Oh and another thing ... I didn't have a babymonitor ;)

Right, today I'm going to go and change out of my new jeans (all snug and nice fitting..haven't felt this good in jeans for MONTHS :D ) so I don't ruin them then I'm staring in the bedrooms and working my way down the house - shouldn't take all day but you never know! Will be cheeky and connect my MP3 player to DD's stereo (can't connect it to mine  ) and listen to it while flying upstairs... on your marks...get set .... go! superwoman.gif

Morning all. Maralum trust me I think I've just about had every nasty test going. Still no conclusion so the saga goes on. I've been like this for 6 years now so in all honesty however bad it sounds, I'm used to it.

Nicki my sympathies with your SILs fiance, it is worse not knowing sometimes (well done with the revenge by the way that made me giggle :rotfl:) .

Michelle I haven't been entirely off alcohol I did have a couple when we were away but not many and will probably be same amount of time until the next :rotfl: Hope your break went ok apart from the ill feeling. I too was wondering where the other 'regulars' were but with the weather problems, power cuts etc I'd put it down to that.

Pigpen, I am impressed, that total is coming down so fast! I can imagine you grinning like a cheshire cat when you updated your signature!

Hev don't feel guilty, you're also helping him cope when on his own which IMO is much much better than the likes of my nephew who at 4 now is still CLINGY! My sister walked around with him permenantly attatched to her when he was little and now she's suffering for it. She wonders why he's struggling to share, play on his own or with other kids without seeking adult attention (inc being naughty to get that atention) etc. He's used to having adult 1-1 all the time!

Right so far, I went to put the washing out and it started raining while I was doing so, so that is back in. I think unfortunately I may have to resort to using the drier for the mountain I have today! Dogs been out, why do they want to play for longer in the rain?

Waiting for my filters off the vacuum cleaner to dry to I can use it, got enough dog hair for a new dog on the floor in just 24 hours I think. DP was ill through the night last night after he got in from work, so leaving him in bed until at least 11am so going to do downstairs for now. I didn't get the fridge and freezer done or the shopping list yesterday so that needs doing. Kitchen looks a little 'bombsite' like at the mo so I think that will be my main area first, then the dining table and living room.
One day I might be more organised...........

It is actually quite sunny here today.. we shoukd be getting hit by the rain tomorrow.. lucky us!

It rained slightly overnight and my mjiddle daughter (6) was panicking because she could only find one boot and didn't want to get 'washed away' by the rain.. she was quite worried by the time we got to school in her trainers because there were a few large puddles... just shows how much the young ones are affected by things.

Oh Pigpen I hope the anxieties for your little DD wear off, I've been trying to explain to my DS that our house won't get flooded (he seems certain we will be) because of where our house is, as soon as he seen the reports on the news he was in panic and trying to move things upstairs, so goodness knows what your little ones must be thinking with it being 'on your door step' so to speak.

I hope these severe weather warnings come to nothing and all those at risk don't have more of the same. pigpen this might seem funny what with the abundance of water but might it be a good idea to have a supply of bottled water - it has been known for mains water to become contaminated during floods.

I have a couple of emails here somewhere from a couple of years ago when flylady was talking about "emergency preparedness" - I kept them because I wanted to make a personalised 'control journal' that's just for emergencies - a checklist if you know what I mean. If anyone is interested I could post some of them as they are like mini essays but might mention things that we ordinarily wouldn't think of.

Yesterday I did quite well in the bathroom:

    Thursday Bathroom and Study/Pc Area
    Level One
    Clear any clutter from desk
    Level Two
[strike]Clean floors in these rooms(even if it is around clutter) [/strike]
Clean bath, [strike]toilet and sink [/strike] didn't finish
    Dust PC and desk
Wipe keyboard and mouse (these usually have more germs on than your toilet so important)
    Level Three
    [strike]Clear clutter from floor [/strike]
Wipe down tiles in bathroom Have a quarter finished
[strike]Clean shower screen/curtain if you have one/if required[/strike] Not required this time
Clean windows Dusted window and cleaned blind - window needs doing desperately though
    Extra mission:
Pick whichever you want to attempt
    • Look through the computer documents (internet favourites, word documents –etc.) deleting any that you don’t need, then defragment your computer needs doing
    • [strike]Clean any ornamental objects in either of these rooms [/strike]
    • [strike]Wash your bathroom mats [/strike] don't have any mats
    • [strike]Sort your airing cupboard [/strike] don't have airing cupboard but dirty laundry and clean linen/towel cupboard is tidy
I'll try to do some of today's list but just had to share something that made me chuckle as I will be doing this exact thing when I enter my kids' rooms:

Hehe sorry I realise it was a typo and I really am not picky like that - but I just thought that was so appropriate for the situation with my kids' rooms - stare then leave hehe! I thought perhaps it was psychological evidence that you meant that too! :rotfl:
