Hi everyone,
Just read through the whole thread and think I can do this challenge!! I have lots of debt (around £30k!!! ) and my OH has a similar amount .
I've got £10 to last until Thursday when my OH gets paid and then I get paid next Tuesday but that will be a huge paycheck with OT and an unexpected bonus from work so hoping I can make a dent in some of my debt.
I am going to tackle one debt at a time I just haven't decided which one to do first yet but I'll be posting here on a weekly basis and hoping to see some of this debt gone soon!!!
I'll start skimming my account each week, do you have any other suggestions?0 -
Hi bramalfie, of course you can join in!
Tackling one debt at a time is the best way to go to see real results. It's up to you whether you decide to tackle the highest interest debt first (snowballing) which could save you the most money in the long run, or perhaps tackle some smaller debts first if it would be more motivating to you to actually get rid of some debts quickly. I snowball, but it's a very personal decision.
All the extra payments per week really add up. Bank account skim is a good one, as is pledging a set minimum each week, no matter how small. Paying money you have saved to a debt is a good idea, for example walking to work to save your bus fare or car parking and then paying that money to a debt. There are lots of ideas on the 'make £10 per day' thread also on how to bring in more money which can then be paid off the debt as extra.
Hope that helps XxDebts @ LBM £23,729.31. Debts @ 08/04/2016 £0 :j

I'll also signed up for the £10 a day challenge despite it being more than halfway through the month so hoping I can pick up some hints and tips from there!!0 -
Hi back from Rome... what an amazing place. Feel rested and ready for the funeral on Friday to be honest I just want to get in over and done with, travelling to London tomorrow to stay with mum, the doctor has given her medication for sleeping but she wont take them worried about her emotional health at the moment I've found I am constantly repeating myself and talking to her like a 2 year old. I think she will be better after the funeral, then I hope I can get her moved nearer to me, well that's the plan. My sister isn't talking to my mum (long story) and my brother is bloody hopeless... lovely but hopeless..families ..
Dads got people coming over from Ireland and Spain to say goodbye. I hope we do him proud..(he always loved a party!)

Thinking of you today jaxsmar, hope it all goes as well as it can. Glad you enjoyed Rome and I sympathise re your Mum. Since the head injury life with DH is often like that! Congratulations on clearing Argos!
Paid £10 extra payment today. Feeling a little more flush after MiL said she'd buy DS1's school shoes! Not so flush as to pay the whole amount I'd budgeted for them though, the rest will just make life easier for the last week of the school holidays!
The last week . Where has it gone??.
