After 2 weeks I would not expect this. I would not even expect this after a few months, I am really unhappy with this carpet0

Carpet- right was your biggest mistake...Use a independent..It is nice to see the value of your house going up'' Why ?
Unless you are planning to sell up and not live anywhere, I can;t see the advantage.
If you are planning to upsize the new house will cost more.
If you are planning to downsize your new house will cost more than it should
If you are trying to buy your first house its almost impossible.0 -
Yes perhaps should not have gone to Carpet Right but I have now and I am stuck with this rubbish carpet. In everyone's opinion is this faulty? The pile does not go back up.0

Not surprised first it is from Carpetright and they will sell anything to make a sale and TBH without wishing to be judgemental it is hardly an expensive quality carpet so I would not expect to use it in an area like stairs where it is going to get hard wear.0

It is a cheap carpet but it has a good underlay. I know very little about carpet and decided on an average priced carpet with good underlay. The carpet is in the hall, stairs and landing. All in was in the region of £500 (fitting, inc the underlay and grippers we bought etc) so not the cheapest they sell. There are only 3 of us in our house, it does not get an awful lot of use and certainly in 2 weeks I would not expect this. Even if something is cheap, the Sale of Good Act says it should be of satisfactory quality and fit for purpose, neither of which this is (regardless of the price).0

We had this with our stair carpet from Carpetright - had the manager come and have a look and he advised that it was due to the way we walk up and down stairs (apparently when we go up and down the stairs we "always walk in the same place and our toes and heel and catch and rub the carpet" which was wearing the carpet out in the middle of the stairs.
this was on a carpet about 2 months old!!!!.... funny how when we tried going up and downstairs with him stood at the bottom - we never walked in the same position every time (yet he managed to!)... he offered to sell us a different carpet for a discount price - told him no chance would we buying a carpet from them again and showed him the front door....
Agree with other peoples posts for the price of a "sale price" carpet at Carpet right for our living room, front room and hallway we got a better quality carpet from the local carpet shop for less money....

It is a relatively cheap (100 % polypropylene ) carpet. I have always bought a slightly better one than this and would particularly do so for the stairs. I got a quote today for a medium size bedroom from Carpetright and chose a twist design. Your choice gives a figure of £107 for a medium bedroom. Mine is around £400 (80% wool) including underlay and fitting. Did you buy a quality underlay? I have always found it to be worth the money?0 -
We used a very good underlay. In total we ordered approx 22 square metres of carpet for hall, stairs and landing.
I have sent an email to their customer services and their chief exec0 -
I have the Nolan carpet from Carpet Right in my living room and it is good and lasted a year so far, so for the stairs to wear like this in 2 weeks is crazy. The carpet was laid on the 13th Dec and we noticed this problem last weekend (a week after it had been laid)0
