Another funny question from me! ! Does anyone use short sleeve vests? I don't get it. I've always put lo in long ones but I've been out this morning for a new pack as I needed bigger ones and I thought since it may get warmer I should buy some short sleeves but then I thought if it's really hot would he even need a vest? And if it's cool he'll wear long sleeve and if it's mid weather I usually put a long sleeve under a tshirt. So really are short sleeves necessary? I mean they cost nothing really so it doesn't matter but I just wondered what does everyone else do?
When LO was little, she wore short sleeve vests under long sleeve ones - two layers seemed right for her. I don't think they're 'necessary' - as long as your LO isn't too hot or too cold, then I think you just go with whatever option/combo works for you!0 -
Continualdiamond, re. one versus two childcare providers - personally, I'd prefer one to help with stability, but I do think children are incredible adaptable and your LO would be OK either way. It might take her longer to get used to each place and feel settled though - but eventually she will. I'd echo what someone else said regarding considering other childcare options too - I too had my heart set on a childminder, decided to also research nurseries, found a nursery I loved and that was it! My LO is thriving at the nursery and loves it there.
You'll know when you find the right place - your gut will tell you. I'm not saying that a nursery is better than a childminder, but I don't think there's any harm in investigating other options - and if you're not too keen on those, then at least you'll know you made the right decision, if that makes sense?... I hope you find a solution that works for you and your family.0 -
Thank for all your well wishes regarding the house ladies - I'm pleased to say we've had an offer accepted! So it's all systems go again, and our buyers still want our flat and are prepared to wait for us. Keeping everything crossed this one works out!0

Hi Lily
So sorry to hear your sad news xx
I had my little girl 2 weeks ago
Hope clover is doing well xxFirst baby due 3/3/14 - Team Yellow! Our little girl born 25/2/140 -
Thanks Nutella. I'm feeling a bit more positive about it all today. Still don't know what days I am working so have decided to not stress about it until I know as really cannot make plans now, just silly trying to.
Pleased you've had another offer on your house :j. Hope all goes smoothly.
Had a lovely baby yoga session and then popped into work, again, but this time it was to pick up some baby clothes from a friend who has been promising to bring them in since January but kept forgetting.
Cannot believe how much she passed on. Went through it and got a lot of 3-6 mths out of it, which is LO current size but then have even more for 6-9 and 9-12. Will not need to buy anymore clothes at all now.
It made me sort through LO clothes though and have bagged up what I don't need to pass on. Some I have kept though to make a keepsake blanket out of, others I must instantly threw out as never had her in them as what some people bought I just didn't like. I know that sounds ungrateful but I am passing them on rather than just putting them in the bin.Mummy to two girls: October 2013 and February 20160 -
CD I don't think that sounds ungrateful at all - I just gave away a big bag of stuff that LO had never worn as I just didn't like it. If it can help someone else, then I think giving it away is perfectly ok0

Hello all, hope everyone had a good night.
Sorry for your news Lily, be kind to yourself x
Love hearing all the news and discussion on here, things like weaning and swimming are a way off for us yet (baby is five weeks) but I find it interesting looking ahead!
As for us, life feeling more manageable and positive now having got through the early weeks. Still have tearful days (usually after tricky nights) and sometimes struggle with breastfeeding when baby is wanting to feed all day long, but feeling generally more positive and more like myself againfran-o0 -
Morning ladies
Glad you've found another house Nutella, fingers crossed this one goes smoothly for you. Random point, I wish G liked the taste of vit drops! I've tried smuggling them into milk but he took one swig and refused the rest. He used to love them when he was tiny too
Fran-o I think we've all had the tearful days at one point or another! Sleep deprivation is horrible.
My OH is home tonight :T and then only one more week til he's finished work down south. Sil is coming over shortly, think we might have a wander round the free city farm. And b&m bargains - we didn't have any of those bargain shops down south, they're amazing!

I had the most sleep last night in weeks. As a result I feel all dazed and confused and I managed to take forever to get sorted out this morning and my daughter got to nursery just in time for first snack!
Slept 7-10, 12.30-1, 2-4 & 5.30-7.30. That is only normal or good sleep to mothers of newborns! I don't include dads in that as he had a 6 hour chunk of sleep. I'm just gonna dream that that will happen again for me as some point...
Fran-o good news on feeling more positive. The early weeks are really hard. For bf building supply is essential and I am focussing on the fact it gets better after 6-8 weeks. I remember it being really easy as my daughter got older but my little man is only 3.5 weeks so I've got a little while longer to wait yet x
I've been given a ton of clothes (got another bag to go through I got yesterday for little man). I'm still getting stuff for my daughter, up to 5 years clothes sometimes and she is only 2! I only have to buy more if the relevant size are for the wrong kind of season - didn't have enough jumpers for example. I have however stored everything in plastic boxes in the loft for now. Any unisex stuff from dd I will get out in due course for baby, the rest will stay until I'm certain I'm done having babies!:heartpuls Daughter born January 2012 :heartpuls Son born February 2014 :heartpuls
