Baby's first tooth is cutting! Just before six months. You can hardly see it but I can feel the sharpness on his lower gum. Thankfully it's not been too bad getting there... Just a few grumpy days in the last fortnight.

Have been making veg pur!es (squash carrot and sweet potato) today and will do some fruit ones with Apple pear and raisin in various combos tomorrow.

One of the babies in my ante natal group friends is crawling, it just feels like they are growing up so fast!

I think we did just going out for lunch at soft play and then feeding the ducks for Robyn's first birthday - poor Erin didn't get much for hers since her sister had arrived 3 weeks beforehand! This year coming up I think we'll possibly just do a family day out somewhere between the two birthdays as they're so close together or something - Erin's discovered the wonder of picnics at the moment so possibly that.

Now watching TV sat on her scooter refusing to come off!

    I've been Money Tipped!
CD we did a little party for T's birthday. Had about 5 of his little friends from the village playgroup (aged 9 months - 2yrs). We had finger food for the babies (little sandwiches, dairylea and ham, pizza, grapes in half, cucumber and of course some jelly.... and birthday cake). Did 11-1, so parents didn't need to eat, put out T's toys. Opened pressies as people brought them, then had food about 12 and was a lovely couple of hours. Wasn't going to do anything, but one of his "friends" did and it was just like an extra special play date, nice to mark the occasion.

We did similar to Lazywife for Gs first, friends from playgroup came over -was meant to be a picnic in the park but typically it tipped down that morning so we had to move it to our flat. Was lovely, although G got totally overtired and had to be put to bed halfway through! I got a helium balloon each and made a cookie pop each rather than actual party bags.

G is currently watching Baby Jake. Good lord I hate this show!

We had a little family gathering for my daughter's 1st. Did a family day out for her 2nd.

Got a few months to work out about number 3! She has children she plays with at nursery but I wouldn't really say she has friends, so it will probably be family again, just depends how far we take that.

Still in the midst of sleep regression/growth spurt with the baby. Probably also down to the heat. I need sleeeeep :(

  • Thanks for the replies re 1st birthdays. I haven't really made any close friends from attending play groups yet as people aren't always consistent with going. If we did anything it would have to be on the 4th October as have got a 1 year photo shoot booked for the 5th followed by a smash the cake shoot for her.

I do like the idea of a little picnic for a few hours though, so thanks for that.

Fran-o - Congrats on baby's 1st tooth cutting. I was sooo excited when that happened but then kinda disheartened as to me I felt she wasn't my little baby anymore. My lo is 9 1/2 months and has 4 teeth through now, with another 2 just peaking through the gums. She's got her bottom middle two, then 4 at the top. She looks super cute when she really smiles at the minute and its her vampire teeth as I say that came through 1st at the top. :)

Thanks for the gro clock replies :) I decided to order one, and as if by magic LO slept until 5.55am this morning, which for us is amazing! The clock is still in its box though :rotfl: I'm also going to make a reward chart - found some brillant stickers in Paperchase this morning. She has also stayed in her own bed all night for seven nights in a row now, so I'm hoping this is the beginning of something. She's 2 years and 2 months now, so I think it's about time she started sleeping through :o

In other news, we've booked our first ever family weekend away :T We're going to Woburn Safari Park next weekend and staying overnight in a B&B on a working farm. I'm really looking forward to it, and it also means I get to hang out with giraffes, using my toddler as an excuse :D

CD, I don't think you should feel that you have to do something on your LO's birthday, or feel guilty if you don't have a party. We didn't do anything - she had no idea it was her birthday anyway :o We had pancakes for breakfast, which is one of her favourite things in the whole world, and then she had her presents of course - which we had to space out over three days as she was getting a bit overwhelmed!

Enjoy your weekend away Nutella! Bet LO will love it :)

CD I hadn't planned to do anything for Gs 1st, but it turned out that the other mums did similar for theirs so I basically just jumped on the bandwagon. And re spacing out presents Nutella - G opened a play tool bench just last week that we got him for last Christmas and it's been wrapped up ever since! He got so overwhelmed at Xmas and the time has just never been right til just now. He loves it, all his tools just like daddy :)

Thanks Katie, I do hope she'll love it, she's always very happy when the three of us are together - OH normally works weekends, so she spends most of her non-nursery time with just me.

We still have a xmas present for LO that we haven't given her yet, as well as a birthday present still sitting in the cupboard in its wrapping paper! :o

The play tools sound fab :)
