Sending your little one to nursery is hard to start with, but honestly they will love it! I regularly have to carry my daughter out kicking and screaming because she does not want to leave
My mum has just won many brownie points with me. Baby is sleeping really badly at the moment and I am struggling with lack of sleep. I'd already said I'd go see my parents at a coffee morning tomorrow, and she's rung to ask if they could hang on to my daughter afterwards and bring her home later. Like I was going to refuse free babysitting :rotfl:
I don't often get a break from her and she loves mama and daddad (her names!) so it's a win win as far as I'm concerned. I just reckon the chances of the baby sleeping so I can have a nap are slim but it's a lot less manic without a toddler around for a bit!:heartpuls Daughter born January 2012 :heartpuls Son born February 2014 :heartpuls

Gruffalo at the theatre sounds fab sunshine, enjoy! I've booked tickets for me and G to go the panto this year with my mum. We always used to go to the York Theatre Royal every year when I was growing up and it is AWESOME. I'm so excited for it. I hope G enjoys it but I've booked seats at the side so I can take him in and out if he gets the wriggles.
I hope you get settled with nursery and work quickly Bangton, I'm sure you will. I'm going to be leaving G at pre-school for the first time in Sept and although its obv a bit different as he's older etc I'm still dreading him crying when I leave. There's been no mention of settling in sessions either so I think as its not nursery its a case of drop him off and get on with it.
Took Erin to look around a pre-school earlier this year and she promptly swaggered in, took one look around and got herself into fully assessing what there was to play with in the surroundings - had to bribe her out of there with a chocolate button! She starts a couple of mornings a week in October (they only start a few new starters a week and we got in late I think) and I think we do a quick 10 minutes or so get together with her key workers and then just leave her to it if she's happy and settled enough - which I strongly suspect she will be!Little miracle born April 2012, 33 weeks gestation and a little toughie!0 -
I'm hoping G will be the same Dizzi, we had a look round a few weeks back and as soon as he spotted the train set that was it. He was not happy about leaving! Hopefully there'll be so much going on he won't even notice I've gone
He's much better at being away from me since we moved - he's been out the whole afternoon with mil today and didn't bat an eyelid when she picked him up. Didn't even wave as he walked down the drive

Considering one of these for Erin http://www.toysrus.co.uk/Toys-R-Us/Bikes-and-Rideons/Scooters/Y-Glider-3-in-1-Scooter-Green(0105221)
She's a tiny bit too short for a balance bike comfortably, can't quite cope with her current scooter as the two wheels at the back get in the way of her pushing off foot, so I think she'll either cope better with one with the front double wheel and tilt steering, or it with the seat mode on. Keep dithering over it though.Little miracle born April 2012, 33 weeks gestation and a little toughie!0 -
Dizzi, I like it!
I think we'll wait a few months and then get a mini micro scooter - I think they look a bit more grown up, whereas the Y Glider looks a bit babyish even with the seat off, so I'm thinking that it's worth paying a bit more for something that's potentially more future proof. In fact, come to think of it, I may have just figured out what to give LO for xmas - thank you!

I like the look of that Nutella! G has this balance bike and he absolutely loves it - gets some real speed up now
Dizzi G was too short for his bike when we got it, but we put the seat to its lowest point and now he's grown a teeny bit he loves it. Would highly recommendNewborn thread member

Re nursery my lo now loves it. Well not that is ever didn't cos many times I have caught her playing with toys and smiling at the ladies when I've gone to pick her up before she spots me. But for awhile as soon as she did spot me she'd cry, the last 2 weeks finally I have dropped her off and picked her up to just have big smiles all round and no tears at all.
I've been back at work for 8 weeks but of course she's only gone 3 days a week. Can only hope that 4 weeks not going wont set her back.
Re wardrobe, we've had one from the beginning. It's only tiny though as we bought our furniture second hand and it's a I love my bear changing unit with 3 shelves under neath and then a little wardrobe section to the right of the shelves with a hanging rail and door. All her dresses, tops and tshirts fit in.Mummy to two girls: October 2013 and February 20160 -
