How on earth do you get her to keep baby sunnies and a hat on? my lo won't do either! ! xx
We've not had much success with hats here either, but she finally 'got' sunglasses about three months ago. She now asks for them as soon as the sun's out and she does keep them on, so there's hope0 -

Don't think I can help about the hat, my daughter is obsessed with hers - she wears it in the house most of the time too! I think it helps that at nursery they make them wear them so she's used to it. Same with suncream, she asks for it and expects it before she goes out. Which causes issues when we're only going out for a few minutes as I don't put cream on her then and she gets confused!
Potty training is doing my head in at the moment. Not that it's going badly, just that we don't have a downstairs toilet and I'm getting fed up of having to take the thing upstairs to empty it. Six times so far this morning alone! I think she's been drinking a lot because of the heat. I wish I could train her straight to the toilet but the reality is with feeding the baby I can't always guarantee to be able to take her as soon as she needs to go.:heartpuls Daughter born January 2012 :heartpuls Son born February 2014 :heartpuls

Bangton I didn't introduce snacks really and ds is almost 11 months, he gets snacks in nursery but I bf him on demand in between meals on the weekend, it helps keep my supply up and the last few months it's been v unsettled between mil illness and FIL hospital stay that we have hardly been home on the weekend, so I haven't had the time or the inclination to introduce them.
Weaning we did full blw, c was never spoonfeed but the nursery are pretty adamant about spoon feeding which is a pain in the !!!. He wasn't isn't eating the food consistently there so they asked to send in snacks and lunch which I am doing but mostly it goes in the bin because they offer their food first! So really it's a rake of extra work for me and they are still attempting to get him to eat with a spoon!!
Nursery is going ok, c loves he key worker which is great and she is genuinely a lovely person so I feel ok about leaving him!his naps are hot and miss still most days except the unscheduled nap on the way home which see him napping till 5/5:30 and then not going to bed until 9-9.30 which means he is overtired and I have to wake him every morning!!
Am hoping it will settle in a few weeks!
Otherwise things are going ok, FIL is out of hospital and stayed with us last weekend and again this weekend! Bu
t things are slowly starting to get back to normal0 -

You'll probably think we're terrible but if it's just a wee in the potty then it gets chucked down the sink or in the garden, going upstairs to the toilet every time is frustrating.
Re the umbrella parks, we got a cheap Mothercare one and it's lasted us 3 years so far. We kept the travel system for long walks and second baby.Currently studying for a Diploma - wish me luck

Hi ladies
Pushchairs - we got the Cosatto SuperSwift Lite when he was about 10mo, and still use it now on occasion (he walks mostly, but for long distances I'll use it). I love it to pieces, I've done MILES with it and its still going strong. And it comes in pretty patterns. What more could you ask for?!
Hats - not a chance round here, if I do get it on he runs straight off with head tipped back so it comes straight off anyway. Hilarious, apparently.
Hope everyone's ok, been a bit busy here so haven't been on for a while.Newborn thread member

Hi all pushchair wise for first had quinny buzz used until 18-20mths then got a baby jogger micro.
On baby number 2 well pregnant at mo looking at a second hand stokke xplory will be an older model due to budget like idea of baby being up high I also like forward facing til 18mths hence not using stroller before
Any comments on stokke xplory appreciated have a Ford focus so should fit in boot.0 -
Cracking day at Cbeebies Land - great, friendly and helpful staff, kids (particularly Erin) loved seeing all the characters - although she did try to carjack Postman Pat's van driving through the area - and I think she went on the Numtums ride about 5 times in all. Night Garden boat ride the only really disappointing, obviously just re-themed from an old ride, bit of the day really.
Recommend going on a day like yesterday - torrential rain off and on, kept the temperatures down and the queues bearable (worst we saw all day was about 20 mins for Postman Pat) and we just ate our picnic under the covered area waiting for the Mike the Knight stage show. Charlie and Lola play area was great for going into to dry off as well.
Have a great photo of Robyn (not-quite-toddler with a total death wish) on the Numtums ride with an expression on her face that pretty much says "I'd much rather be going on Oblivion here please"!Little miracle born April 2012, 33 weeks gestation and a little toughie!0 -

My sister in law had a Stokke Xplory for her two sons - it has lasted really well and is a very nice sturdy pushchair/pram.
Only things I didn't like about it were the price (not too much of an issue if you manage to find a decent second hand one) and the size of it. It takes up the entire boot space of her Vauxhall Astra (new shape so fairly big boots), so much so that she can't fit shopping etc in too!
I think a Ford Focus has a slightly bigger boot but so might be ok for you just don't expect to fit much else in there at the same time!
Oh the only other thing I wasn't too keen on was the bucket shaped pushchair unit. I have a pushchair that has a reclining back so I can lay my LO pretty much flat if he needs a sleep. The Stokke will only lay down as an entire unit so LO isn't laying flat but still in a bucket shape if you see what I mean? Not too much of a problem if your LO won't be spending too much time in it but going on the advice of those shaped car seats, I'd imagine they shouldn't spend longer than 2 hours in there?
Not sure if this is connected but with her second LO, she could never get him to sleep in his cot during the day - she had to rock him back and forth in the Stokke - not sure if he had got used to the shape of the seat - this could be completely unconnected but it was a mighty pain in the rear!!0
