Hi Jannine! :hello: Lovely to see you - great to hear things are improving.

My OH is under strict instructions to call me 'mummy' when LO is around - she started calling me by my first name and I wasn't happy! :o Occasionally she still does just to tease me - she'll say my name and give me a cheeky grin.

Re. teeth brushing - we struggled for months here too; didn't really find a solution I'm afraid, other than her just getting older and growing out of it and me insisting that teeth brushing is not negotiable. Things we tried with varying degrees of success include singing (she likes 'This is the way we brush our teeth'), letting her choose her own toothbrush in Boots, letting her brush my teeth (with my toothbrush, obviously!) whilst I was brushing hers, and OH brushing his at the same time.

    Evening all :)

Lazywife, glad swimming was good :) It's my LO's favourite activity - she talks about it all week! And I'm enjoying it more now that I've spent a small fortune on a new swimming costume that actually fits my post-baby body :D

Katie, I'm actually enjoying potty training - although it obviously helps that LO is doing so well; we only had one accident today :)

I've booked a free Diddi Dance trial lesson for Thursday (my day off) - I want to find an active, structured class and LO loves music and dancing, so thought it'd be worth a try!

In other news, our new blender arrived today and I'm very very excited about the prospect of no more lumpy smoothies! :D

Reu sometimes calls me mum, sometimes first name, I'm not really bothered. Sometimes I tell him "yes that's mummy's name" but I don't really want to make a big deal out of it.

Janinew, good to see you, well done Poppy on the walking and talking :) ref teeth, I'm afraid just being stubborn was what worked here, he eventually realised teeth were non-negotiable and he would not win.

    Hi ladies!

Nice to see you all again. Had another battle tonight with the teeth brushing, tried different brushes, different toothpaste pretending to brush her teddies teeth and everything else I can think off! Little monkey purses her lips shut when I come near her! Called her a monkey and she kept repeating 'me monkey' so couldn't be to cross! Tantrums and nightly battles are hard to deal with after a busy day at work!

Been interested to hear about potty training, we aren't ready yet but she has started to take an interest in the contents of her nappy when I change her so hopefully not to much longer and we can start.

We are just in the process of selling and buying a new build so lots of stress! After we move I think I'm going to sleep for a year, been a stressful few years and I'm ready for a relaxing year with no drama!

Thanks Lazywife! All us mums (and dad's) have real concerns, be that worrying about dummies or having heart surgery! I don't want anybody thinking my worries are any more important!

Talking about worries, struggling with teeth brushing at the moment, any tips to help?

Also this made me laugh this morning so thought I would share. Poppy was in her cot waiting for me to get her up. She could obviously hear me so started shouting, not calling me 'mummy' like normal, but calling me by my first name!! She must have heard hubby calling me and started to copy. Really tickled me!

Lol, so glad things are going so well hun!! x

Right, I'm on there again now! And twice!

Hi Janine - glad to hear your little girl is doing well now x They are full of fun when they start to talk and you end up having the most bizarre conversations. Yesterday my daughter said to me 'you're awesome!'. I don't know if she understands what it means, but I'm taking the compliment!!

Just adding myself back on, seem to have dropped off the top!

Wow on twice Crabapple! Any other ladies thinking about trying for another baby soon just out of interest? We've decided Poppy will be an only and I'm happy with our decision.

jannine - glad all is ok with your little one. That must have been so difficult.

As for trying for another baby. I flit between 'this is awesome, I'm definitely having another' to ' I can't get up at 4am with another baby ever again! !'

I do love it and I'm very much undecided - I had a c section though so I have at least another 18 months to decide anyway! !
