    I've been Money Tipped!
    Hi all,
Well done with the potty training ladies. It's something I'm definitely not looking forward to. Esp as they say boys are particularly tricky.
We've pressure gates top ad bottom of the stairs, although the suction cups are screwed onto the wooden bannister as T is particularly strong and rough, so I think he'd have them off otherwise! We've not had a prob with tripping and as long as the gates are useful, he'll not be going through them on his own. We don't gate the kitchen. I've cupboard locks on the cleaning stuff (the suff that could kill him?!) then he gets a "no!" and pulled away from the cupboards he's not allowed in (crockery, glass dishes, food) but there's plenty of other drawers and cupboards he can open to entertain himself... just a bit noisy with the banging pans!
T didn't reliably sleep through until about a year. He was exclusively bf and apparently they are notorious for waking up in the night. I always fed him back to sleep if it was a middle of the night wake up (1am onwards) but if he was just stirring and needed settling an hour or so after bedtime I wouldn't feed again.
Talking of bf (or ceasing of it) you'll all be pleased to know I took advantage of the M&S 20% off in the week and now have some bras that make my b00bs look like they belong to someone in their 30's again. (my old tired feeding bras meant they resembled more like a 70 yrs old's to any outsider!)

My toddler has been a pain to get to sleep for about a week, with constant talking and then shouting from her room after a bit, complaints about being 'stuck', general calls for 'daddy' etc.

Today she didn't have a nap. She fell asleep sat at her little table eating her dinner!!

I guess it may be that the naps need to go, but some days I go out in the morning and by the time I get back in the car I have to carry her straight upstairs to bed because she is spark out. Other days she fights it. She always sleeps at nursery as well, so it's not just me.

Baby also went to sleep although he'll be up again at some point. It is early for him though. It's ever so quiet in the house!

Already having to manipulate naps a bit here. Although he does sleep through ... generally (as post above) he is a bit of a nightmare to get to sleep. There's a good 2-3 mins of just screaming as I hold him to get to sleep (can't put him down as he'll crawl/walk off and play, can't just put him in cot as he bangs his head on the side until someone gets him out), then probably another 5 mins of intermittent yelps until he finally drifts off.... why can't he just have a nice gentle drift into sleep. I hope it will improve (I think I'm more paranoid as the windows are open, so all the neighbours can here too!)

Sounds really good Nutella, for the first day :D we had about a million accidents with pants the first day, so we are doing bare bummed atm. I'm taking quite a relaxed approach and not asking him if he needs it, just allowing him to go as and when he feels he needs it, we have #2's nailed now, no accidents at all with them, but #1's he is still missing a couple a day, and ends up on the floor :o but I'm assuming it'l get better as time goes on!

On sleep, I was up about 10 times to my 2.5 year old on Friday night  teething back molars is a pain in the bum. I was v tired on Sat morning.

Thanks Gilly - yesterday we only had two accidents; both #1s. One on the kitchen floor and one in my wardrobe (she likes playing hide and seek in there) :) She looks so cute and grown up in her knickers! Here's hoping she can keep it up once the novelty wears off.

Hope those molars hurry up so you can get some sleep again :(

I think she's doing brilliantly Nutella, really really well! I couldn't put pants on A, or he'd just wet through them :o no idea what I'm going to do to encourage him, I've been told lose jogging bottoms should be the next step and then pants after that, we'l see how it goes :o no accidents so far this morning...

I agree Gilly - she's doing fab and I'm very proud of her :D We have a book that she loves (the equivalent for boys is called 'Boys' potty time' - available on Amazon) - it has pictures of actual children in it rather than drawings and she likes looking at them and comparing to our set-up. And she also loved going to the shop and buying special knickers - but then she's a girl... :)

    Hi Ladies!

It's been a while. Hope you are all well. Re the reins - we bought them, but i think i've used them a handful of times. They teach the kids to hold hands on nursery days out, so Charlie is really good at doing this. And since we put the pram away last year, he's just become good at hand holding.
Dummy - he's almost 2 and a half and still uses it for naps and bedtime. Though i'm not overly fussed, it falls out as soon as he drops off, or I take it out and lay it next to him. With Charlie, its more of a comforter than anything. He's never had a blanket/teddy, this is his thing. There will come a time when i'll be telling him that he's a big boy now etc. But for now i'm happy for him to keep it.

We had a gate over our kitchen, but it was more so that the cats could eat their food in peace. We've now got one over his bedroom door, and no longer the kitchen. We've always had a pressure gate at the top of the stairs with no problems. At the angle, he couldn't run at them, but to be honest, he's never ran at them, he just looks over it x

Blimey Mozzy, where did you find that list?! And how come I've dropped off it, I used to be on there after Kira...

Nutella, I am laughing at the idea of finding a wee in your wardrobe, sorry! My little girl has been known not to go in the potty, but it's usually in the general area. I'm very glad we have wooden floors.
