Hope everyone has had a lovely day.
Ours was a bit random. LO woke up at 4:30am, well actually she was stirring and hubby decided to make her a bottle, I personally wouldn't of but I didn't like to say anything in case he took it as though I was telling him what to do rather than giving advice. He then picked her up which = her opening her eyes of course.
Not sure on the time he put her back down but by 6am he was getting up with her. Appreciated that from him cos he said 'I'll get up with her and wake you up at 7:30am'. That was because at 9am we left to go and collect a washing machine.
About a mth ago ours broke and a very kind friend of my husbands gave us it for nothing as they were moving in together. Unreal how kind some people can be, it's only 2 mths old. Another friend of ours lent us a washing machine whilst we waited as they're having a new kitchen extension.
By the time we got back from swapping machines over it was lunch time. LO had her lunch and we then put her in her Easter outfit and went photo mad, hahaha.
Here is one of her:
Even though she got a chocolate egg we didn't give her any. Debated about it because it was Easter but decided she is too little and will wait until her 1st bday. So mummy/daddy have even more chocolate to share, hahaha.
Re my mil, yes I was tolerant, far more than I thought I should of been. Unfortunately hubby has said we'll go out with them tomorrow, at least he was honest and said it would have to be later on as LO needs her lunch 1st. I still don't want too given the situation but also because the weather is meant to be nice around lunch time and I fancied going for a picnic at a park near us and walking around the big lake rather than sitting inside eating.
I'm hoping to get out of it as horrible as that sounds as love the idea of being at the park.Mummy to two girls: October 2013 and February 20160 -
Am dreading the day she understands what the ice cream van is all about - it arrives every evening at bedtime!
You could always be like that mum in the ad, tell her that when the music sounds the ice cream has ran out!
Continual you could always get a headache! I would try my best to get out of it.0 -
Hello, May I join the group? Kallie is 6 weeks old and has a big brother who will be 3 soon. I'll probably be more of a lurked than a poster
It's there a Facebook group to join as well?Currently studying for a Diploma - wish me luck

This is like me! I always prepare for a full afternoon. I think the crux of it is that I'm starting to feel like it's not worth it for me with this particular group as nice as they are. The same day they came I'd been invited elsewhere and had to say no which made me feel a bit pigged off when they all left so quickly. I think deep down I'm a bit insulted too! It has been nice to get opinions though as I guess I'm used to socialising pre baby and even now with baby I still enjoy full afternoons out as friends/family tend to have a bit of a play with LO so he's enjoying the attention (and so am I). In my home there's no such thing as outstaying ones welcome either! !
benice I'd be annoyed too!! my OH has been great for a couple of weeks but prior to that I was feeling irritated by the lack of help. I think he was tired but I just found it annoying as I was tired too!!
We've moved on to a sort of baby led weaning now and have to say its going well!0 -
Morning all,
Lo enjoyed some chocolate buttons yesterday, didn't have loads but had a couple to get in the Easter spirit.
I've been getting bothered by lo not using a sippy cup (13 months) I went through a stage of getting out everyday and filling it with water to let him have a try but he was never interested. Anyway a couple of nights ago I noticed that his milk was leaking and lo and behold he had bitten through 3 of his teets. So out came the 3 different sippy cups I had bought to try and encourage lo. He's taken to the first one we ever bought! And in two days has gone from not caring about it to drinking from it all day to yesterday drinking from an open cup?! I'm so proud!
He's also started waving yesterday as well which is new!
I've lost my little baby! He's now a little boy
Cd - beautiful picture, she's cute!
Sml - congrats and welcome to you
Sunshine - hope your Easter egg hunt was great fun, good job on missing the rain
Nutella - I too am dreading the ice cream van chat!
Sorry can't remember anything else I'm on my phone
Have a great dayNewly Married, not a 2b anymore!! Mum to two wonderful boys!0 -
morning
Hi smlsave, we don't have a facebook group, feel free to chat here.
LO is snotty today and has a bit of temperature I think. Currently debating whether or not to give calpol. He's been snotty for a while but he feels warmer today. Constipation seems better since I stopped giving him toast thoI have also made up with OH - I said baby, food, me and house running take priority over DIY & he can't sink hours into a task anymore and lose track of time. He seemed to agree.
Mrs H I was only gonna give my 7 month LO an open cup to start with. As he got constipation and didn't seem to take any water, I tried a sippy cup which he just thought was a playtoy! He now takes a few sips out of an open cup with meals.0 -
gorgeous pic CD[/B].. Such a pretty little girl!! hope today goes ok
benice glad you've made up but poor lo.. hope he feels better soon.
Think I'm going to try an open cup too. lo also thinks sippy cup is a toy. He either chews on it or throws it on the floor. He's defo using milk as a thirst quencher as he'll cry for the sake of an ounce.
Not sure what to do today but hope you all have a good one! I'm not looking forward to OH going to work I've really enjoyed having him around!0 -
Welcome smlsave hope everything is going well.
Re cups we bought a doidy cup after we were shown in at the NCT classes. LO get's on pretty well with it, I use it at meal times at the moment so she associates a different drink in it.
We bought a cup with a different spout on it but she struggles to suck anything out of it as obviously she's used to drinking from her normal teat on her bottles.
Well I sorta escaped today. As the weather forecast was nice I really pushed the idea of wanting to spend time outside with my hubby. Hubby rang his parents yesterday to see what was happening today and his mum said they'd ring back as his dad was out, they never did.
I refused this morning to just wait around for them to phone so we sorta made other plans with going out to the park once I'd chatted to my parents on skype. His parents decide to ring at 10:30am and thankfully hubby told them we weren't sure what they wanted to do so we were off to enjoy the sunshine.
That resulted in just popping in to see them on our way home for about 30 mins so avoided the whole eating out and it being ages spent with them. Luckily LO sat on my knee for most of the time so I made myself stay busy with feeding her and holding her toys for her to play with.
FIL is still the same, he held her for all of 1 min if that and passed her back to my hubby as soon as she started to cry with sheer panic in his voice about us needing to hurry up and make her stop crying. It was at this point that I was in the kitchen getting a bottle ready as knew she'd be hungry soon.
They just stress me out. I'm a much better mum without them around us.
Well LO is now having 3 meals a day
Can't remember when I introduced breakfast, maybe 2 weeks ago. Had decided to introduce tea from this Friday but at about 5pm tonight she wasn't happy at all so hubby put her down thinking she might need a nap (based on napping from 4:30 - 5:30pm last night and then going to bed properly at 7:30pm).
However at 5:20pm her crying was more intense and different so thought I wonder if she's hungry so decided to toast 1/2 a crumpet. She got so excited when I put her in her high chair and took a piece of crumpet with a big smile on her face, she ate it all and then 1/2 a pot of banana custard.
She was completely fine then and had for her at least a small 5oz bottle at 6:30pm and was in bed for 7pm. Can only assume she needs 3 meals a day now, so we shall see how tomorrow goes with having some tea as well.
I can't keep up with how much babies change....Mummy to two girls: October 2013 and February 20160 -
The little plastic cups you get from supermarkets (I have Tesco value, 4 for £2 what's not to love?) are fantastic for babies/toddlers to drink from, bright colours, small enough for little hands to handle and damn near indestructible
little miss and squeak have always done pretty well with them.
School tomorrow so I'll be up earlier than I have been latelythat'll be fun!
Little miss wanted to go to bed in her clothes today, she's a funny one! She was runiing around shouting 'No jim jams, no jim jams' :rotfl:
CD good news on the in-laws :j always a result to get out of those things :rotfl: Probably best to assume that things will always be weird with them and avoid where possible!Mum of several with a twisted sense of humour and a laundry obsession:o

evening all
LO's chesty cough has gotten worse poor thing so lots of mummy cuddles, calpol and staying in for tomorrow I think.
CD glad the MIL avoidance is working well
Delain I got some little cups from mothercare but they still look huge for LO, lol
LO tried some apple and pear today. I baked them in the oven so they were a bit softer for him. Fingers crossed that the pear works well for constipation! LO has been pooing with less effort since I stopped giving him toast. I'm not going to add another meal until he's ok digesting the 2 a day.
Does anyone know if there are guidelines as to how much babies should eat or how quickly they should be on 3 meals? HV said it could be a matter of a few weeks before babies are on 3 meals if they have purees but BLW tends to be longer. However there is a phrase 'food before one is just for fun' knocking about so where does that come from? It seems pretty confusing but I feel OK about my baby leading the way - I figure that he'll eat more once he gets the hand skills and his digestive system can cope with it.0
