Inflataboobie is a great description, will use that! Fed baby from 3.30 and settled him around 4.20 then spent twenty mins sorting myself out: expressing more milk so boobs didn't explode, cleaning up and finding clean night clothes... Breast feeding is great but even when you're doing well with it there are still random challenges!
Going for dinner at a friends house tomorrow, will be our first evening out with baby so hoping he is relaxed about being out. He's 8 weeks on Tuesday!fran-o0 -
Oooh Fran-o I am pleased you got a decent sleep. Sometimes it's just what you need.
CD - what a lovely thing for yoga instructor to say. I think we had a similar cack birth and like you I was worried about my bond with LO. I didn't have skin to skin as I was too ill and never fed lo from the boob. Last night as he was going to sleep he just looked at me and smiled the nicest, lovliest smile I've ever had in my life. I smiled back and off he went. Best moment I've ever had! !!
I'm still ill. Fed up of it and I bought a second chance offer jumperoo on eBay only to read the feedback ( having not received it ) and found the person who had won it had carried out transaction and surprise surprise not had it either. We've both been had! Opened a dispute but now spent more on yet another jumperoo! Don't know if I'm covered by ebay money back either. Grrrrrr.
Have a good un everyone xx0 -
Pleased to read similar posts re our reactions when we gave birth, as weird as that sounds. But it's just nice to know I wasn't the only one who worried about bonding due to the delivery they had.
Bangton - Yes I think we're very similar in the way our LO's entered the world. Hope everything goes okay with ebay. You should be covered by ebay with getting the money back. I had a similar thing in that when I was pregnant, I bid and won a cot tidy. I paid and then read the feedback and just knew I wasn't going to get it as all the negatives were baby item related and all not received.
Whilst my seller was in contact I got the sob story of that it had been posted but not recorded delivery and that my parcel along with some others had become lost. They offered a refund but never did refund me so I had the hassle of opening a dispute and waiting the time frame until ebay steps in. They then issued me a refund.
Low and behold a few weeks late the seller was listing the cot tidy for sale again (on purpose I'd made a note of the seller). Clearly what I bid and won it for they weren't happy with.
Jumperoo is great I might add. My LO has a similar thing, it's just a winnie the pooh style instead, my inlaws got it for Xmas for her. Just today she realised that if she moves her legs about it makes her move and bounce, so we had a lot of smiles, giggles and random bursts of energy, lol.Mummy to two girls: October 2013 and February 20160 -
Evening all
Bangton, hope you're feeling better.
Hope everyone had a good day. Lovely day here - LO and I went for lunch at a friend's house; she's got a little boy the same age as LO and they loved running around and playing. She revealed that she's pregnant again, which made me just a tiny bit jealous even though I definitely don't want another child any time soon. LO and I went to the park afterwards, which was nice - it's been a warm and sunny day here.
We're trying a new swimming pool tomorrow - fingers crossed!
Oh, and LO stayed in her own bed all night last night - for the first time in months! I realise it was probably a one-off, but still - first night of uninterrupted sleep in months
Have a good night all x0 -
Congrats Nutella on your lo sleeping in bed all night.
I cant remember a morning when I haven't woken up beside my lo, I wouldn't know what to do if he stayed in his own bed all night now! Haha
Only news we have is that lo can now walkoh and instead of horrible twos, we have horrible ones! Tantrums galore!

MrsH hooray for LO walking, T's not quite there yet, just cruising round the furniture.
Hooray for LO sleeping in her own bed Nutella, maybe it's the way forward (or just a one night oddity!)
Nice and sunny here too0 -
Thanks cd. Hope I get it back. It's so rubbish that people do it and I'm really put of ebay. I did buy another via eBay that was fine but I've had problems as a seller (people buying and not paying) and a couple of times as a buyer. Sorry it happened to you it's such a nuisance!!!
Happy Mothers day everyone. Its my first as it is for loads of us. OH is full of nice gestures. . No card, I'm up with lo alone while HE lies in and defo no flowers or lunch out!
I'm not his mother apparently and lo is too little to pick a card. ....
Never mind I'm not really fussed about days like this usually but it's cool being a mum for once on mum's day0 -

Happy mother's day.
Hope everyone had a nice day.
Hubby made me a lovely card on behalf of Scarlett. It had a photo on the front of it when she was about a week old and then the message inside was again made to be from her. It made me cry. Also got 'new life' willow tree ornament which was just lovely.
Didn't do much for the actual day. Hubby took Scarlett to see his mum and I stayed at home to skype my parents, though it's not mother's day in Australia.
We then went shopping so I could get measured for some new bras. I couldn't bare the backache any more and even though I've lost 1st 10.5lbs since Nov I'd been convincing myself that I could put up with the backache of wearing my pre pregnancy bras as didn't want the expense of new ones (how silly really).
Besides that just enjoyed walking around town with hubby and our LO. No breaky in bed or special lunch etc but I'm not bothered, be actually more special to have Scarlett do that if she wants too when she's old enough.Mummy to two girls: October 2013 and February 20160 -
You know you're tired when....
...you sit down at your desk, get the berry compote for your porridge, start pouring it out of the little pot, and then - having poured about two-thirds of it - realise that you're emptying it into your cappuccino. Not sure what upset me more - the bland porridge or the rather odd-tasting coffee!
Hope everyone is well x0
