Oh Nutella forgot to say thank you for suggesting giving LO his own spoon when weaning! It worked a treat before he was off his food. I think next week I'm going to start BLW as he's 6 months then (providing he's more up for milk/food)! Blimey where did the time go.
I've heard with BLW they should sit independently though. He's defo close. He can sit unaided for a few minutes before toppling but he's not 100% steady. A friend of mine has a 10 month old who can't sit up yet and she just feeds her sandwiches etc so I'm thinking surely it's ok as a later sit upper needs to be weaned. Sorry I've got confused now! !!0 -
Bangton, it doesn't matter if they can sit up totally independently, just that they can stay upright in their highchair without slouching. It's just to make sure they are in the right position to avoid choking.
Awful night last night with the baby being up every five minutes (or it sure felt like that). He's now chilling on my lap but my toddler is being very busy. It's going to be a long day...:heartpuls Daughter born January 2012 :heartpuls Son born February 2014 :heartpuls

Morning ladies, hope everyone had a good night
MrsH, hope you're feeling a bit better about everything x
LO and I just made smoothies for breakfast - it's starting to become a bit of a Saturday tradition. Her tasks are to put the berries/fruit in the blender and press the 'on' button - she loves itToday's flavour was mango, apple and raspberry; she said 'nice!' after every sip!
We had crumpets with our smoothies, and she couldn't quite figure them out. 'Toast?! Cracker?! Toast! Cracker!'. When she tried to say 'crumpet' it sounded more like 'carpet', but she did her best :rotfl:
Have a good day all x
Hello!!
Ooo we need to start doing this. My smoothie maker has been dormant for sooooooooo long!! Fab idea!! xDFD February 2012

I worried about it for quite a while and used to want to feed him more but the reality is he just has a small appetite. He eats everything we give him, just not a big portion. Some days he will eat a lot more than usual where as some days he hardly eats much, but as gilly says if you balance it over the week it averages out.
For example, we only manage one weetabix where as gillys LO has three. He still has a drink of milk morning and night though, but only if he wants it.
Hi ladiescot sides coming off has gone really well here, much to our surprise. He has a little monkey toy from next in his bed and for some reason calls it monkey head....no idea why! Seems to work a charm at bed time though so I wont complain x x x
Well done Sunshine!!! That's great news. We still haven't tackled the cot sides yet, but whilst he's quite happy in his bed and has made no attempt to escape, he can stay thereDFD February 2012

Hope everyone is well!! Charlie turned 2 in February
We just had some friends, not a party. He still doesn't quite get birthdays lol. So hopefully next year we can have that fun. My brother got him a balance bike. He's ok on it, but still prefers his skuttlebug. Definitely a best buy!!!

Had a real 'awwwww' moment last night. When I put LO to bed I give her a kiss and say 'night night, love you'. Her usual response is 'night night', but last night she said 'lolu mummy'. It was so cute I nearly cried - that moment alone was worth all those sleepless nights
Hope everyone is well x0 -

We got away with this until about a fortnight ago. No sign of her ever making a break for freedom (she's quite short and not a climber), then a loud thump one day and she'd faceplanted onto the floor
Thankfully all was well. She got very excited at the cot coming down and being able to roam out of her big bed! She likes pulling all the books off the shelves if she's left alone in there for a single non-sleeping moment!
Nutella, it really does melt your heart! My lo said it unprompted the other day (ie not as part of the nighttime routine when we all say it to each other). Wanted to cry!:heartpuls Daughter born January 2012 :heartpuls Son born February 2014 :heartpuls

Aaaww, it is hard, but you get used to it, and develop a new routine as you go on. I still miss Charlie loads though, and get so excited come home time!!! Stock up on Calpol though lol, Charlie is forever sick with colds from nursery! Good luck xDFD February 2012
